On vacation in Virginia and we were looking for somewhere to get pizza and such close to our hotel. We visited Brick Oven after reading the reviews on here and I am SO HAPPY that we did. The best red sauce this Yankee turned Texan has had in a long time. I had a calzone, my daughter had a stromboli and my husband had the manicotti. We also had cannolis for dessert and they were AWESOME! Logan was our server and she was great! Very friendly and patient with us as we took a long time to decide. Wish we could come back regularly. We stopped and picked up a pizza on our way to our hotel for the evening. We got a small regular crust and a large thin crust cheese pizza. The thin crust was excellent! I didn't care for the regular crust ... It needed cooked a little longer. We would definitely stop again and stick with the thin crust. The people at the counter were very friendly and accommodating. I used to love this place....Certain staff are extremely friendly. However I will no longer come to the restaurant as apparently if you are not 12 or under you can't get a kids meal. We are typically used to the same waitress who knows what we like and how we like it but the new waitress will not allow my fourteen-year-old to order a kids meal. I asked her how would it be different if I ordered her a kids meal as a takeout order? She asked the manager DJ if she could sell me the kids meal and he said no. It's a shame that a business would rather lose customers over a kids meal vs. pleasing them. But on the bright side it forced me to try the new sports page grill in Ashland and it was Awesome! !! read more

The food was good and our server was nice. HOWEVER, the supposed owner was very rude and nasty to us and even told us never to come back all because he wasn't paying attention to us when we told him how we were paying the bill. He messed it up and then got rather hostile with us when we were telling him how it needed to be done. I would recommend staying away from this place!!! read more

Since moving to Richmond we have been on the hunt for our new "go to" pizza place. Decided to try this one out and took advantage of a Groupon for the place. Right off the bat the decor could use an update. The waitress was nice and friendly, and kept our drinks filled during our meal. We ordered a large white pizza with mushrooms. Crust was nice and crispy and it tasted okay.......not the great I am looking for though. I would have preferred fresh mushrooms and not ones from a can. My daughter had the cheeseburger and my son had their meatball sub. Both of them didn't care at all for their meals. Said the flavor was off, and my son actually pushed it aside and ended up just eating a slice of the pizza. My daughter quit after she choked down half. Bottom line, pizza was fair, and if I'm in the area and hungry I might pop in again for some slices. Definable will stay away from the burgers and meatball sub. Ultimately though, just not gonna go out of my way to grab dinner here. read more

We used Brick Oven to cater our son's graduation party. It was a great experience from our first conversation until the completion of our event. The food was amazing and plentiful. We received many compliments on the food and inquiries on where to getting it. I would highly recommend using them for catering and will definitely use them myself again in the future. read more

I had the cheese steak sub and fries. It was delicious! The sub was sooo good, it had everything and was so much that I had leftovers. There were also a huge amount of fries, that were not greasy. The best part was the service. Everyone was very cordial, friendly, and efficient. This was my first time hearing about this restaurant. I was on travel, so I will definitely look for one in my area. I'm reluctant to write a review on this place because I don't want it anymore crowded than it is. I take my family there every once in a while. The sandwiches are good, the pasta is good, and their chicken rollitini is phenomenal. Pizza is not bad but it's not their forte. Haven't been here in awhile and will probably won't be going back anytime soon. Against my better judgment my daughter insisted we order from here instead of Anthony's and boy do I wish I had put my foot down. Order over the phone and was told the food would be ready in 20 min. I leave right after the call and live only 12 minutes from Ashland. When I arrive food is already waiting and not on a warming device so I'm thinking not good, but take anyways and by the way it's 5:20pm on a Friday. Drive home and my daughter that's holding the food never complains once about it being too hot on her bare legs, and when we open the food is cold and over cooked. Not exactly what I expected and the on top of that I ordered 2 extra topping on half of the pizza and they charge full price for both. Would strongly suggest some other pizza place in Ashland. Not sure if ownership or management has changed but won't be going back anytime soon if ever! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, the service is good, the cost is reasonable, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. My wife and I live in Mechanicsville, but we frequently make the 25 minute drive to Ashland just for this place. We often get the supreme or meatball pizza and draft beers, but I also recommend the meat or supreme stromboli and my wife enjoys the pasta. Adding a side salads is a good choice, especially because of the ranch dressing which is unusually good. The wine and fountain drinks are good too if that's the mood you're in. The subs are good, but we generally go for the pizza, stromboli, or pasta, which are the real stars. The smell of the oven is very inviting and comforting. I wound not recommend sitting outside on the patio unless you like to smoke or to be around smokers; we found this out the hard way because no one was outside when we sat down ):. If you're looking for pizza, subs, and pasta and a casual dinning experience with a college town feel this place is for you. read more

so yesterday we decided to go out to eat here. that was a bad decision. we order our food and drinks and never saw our service again. we waited for at least 25 minutes before leaving. she never brought us our salads that we order with our meal an never brought the tea and medium drink as well.there is no customer service at this place. please hire servers and waitress that can handle the stress of a busy restaurant. the manager on duty didn't have a clue how to run this place. we came there hungry and left hungry. its a good thing subway was there . we was able to eat in less then 5 minutes. and we was fill. read more
