This was a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was fabulous & we had great service. It's a must eat place!!

We've actually visited the Redmond Brickhouse several times, and each time it's a unique and fairly pleasant experience. Located downtown Redmond with a 2nd location now in Bend, these guys know how to cook food and they have definite ideas about service and, of course, wine. This time, after sitting with a generous glass of Sauvignon Blanc I ordered the Northwestern Steelhead on the recommendation of the waitress. My dining companion ordered Chicken Marsala (his test dish for any restaurant). In addition we opted to have an appetizer; bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops arrived with speed and although there weren't a whole lot on the dish, they were very good. The bacon was crispy and the scallops were cooked just right. As we lingered over the appetizer we watched as the restaurant filled up ... and it did fill up quite rapidly. We tend to be early diners, and this day we arrived right at 5 o'clock. With the exception of maybe half a dozen people at the bar, the place was a ghost town ... within 30 minutes, the place was packed. Just an FYI. At just the perfect time, the main course arrived at the table. The steelhead was really good, no flaws in the cooking or presentation and quite tasty. My side dish was a smashed potato, which was also quite enjoyable. With the Chicken Marsala came a rice dish, pretty plain and nothing to write home about. Both dishes were served with asparagus - and although we've all had loads of asparagus, I have to tell you; this asparagus is over the top! The outside is just crispy enough to make it a curiosity, and it makes me wonder if perhaps they put this in the deep fryer for a second just before serving. Totally awesome. For asparagus. Bottom line; we decided to visit The Brickhouse only because Diego's was packed out (apologies to Brickhouse) and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere at Redmond's Brickhouse is very comfortable, the décor quite appealing. And although you have to go through quite a process just to get in the door (the hostess 'needs' to log you into her computer and she's going to ask you for your name and phone number - at the very least), it really is a pleasant place to dine. Although the prices might be quite a bit higher than down the street, the service is good and the food is always spot on. Give it a try if you haven't already. read more

I never give a restaurant a five. Four stars to me indicates really good. The Brickhouse in Redmond was GREAT! Took my family of four and we all really loved it. Everything from the appetizers (Dungeness and shrimp cakes) to wine to the salads, steaks and deserts were fantastic. This place is really paying attention to quality and cares about the food they are serving. Special thanks to our Waiter, JONATHON. He was a true professional. Friendly, attentive, informative and very helpful with recommendations and things we should know about the food. He made us feel like valued customers and helped make our meal memorable. Take his advice on how to order the steak (medium rare plus). I recommend this place to everyone, and I and the family will return next time we are in Redmond. read more

Went to the Brickhouse last night. I had the short rib and it was delicious. My wife had the salmon dish which was a tad dry and San Francisco prices at $33.....over priced for what it is, and where it is. Would go back for the meat dishes but would avoid the fish. read more

Wow. I now have another favorite restaurant. We found this restaurant in a "Central Oregon" restaurant guide while at Eagle Crest resort, just outside of Redmond. We did not want to drive to Bend, and this was the only "fine dining" option in the guide. We called ahead for reservations but they weren't required. It was fairly empty when we arrived at 5:50 but it filled up fast. We were greeted with plenty of warm bread and butter (not cold out of the fridge), which refilled as soon as we emptied it. If you have the pleasure of Matthew serving you, your evening will be even more delightful. He is non-pretentious and attentive. He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. Some of the guys in my party even tried to get him to trip up by asking him for odd things, but he remembered everything. As far as the food? AMAZING. I'm an Italian girl, so I'm big on seafood. My husband and I ordered the clams and zucchini tempura for appetizers and split the special: a charbroiled salmon steak. The clams were very fresh--quite a treat! The zucchini was melt in your mouth. And the salmon was perfectly broiled on the top and buttery soft in the middle. It was the best salmon I've ever eaten. Worth every penny of the $29. Our friends had the clam chowder-very rich and thick, the asparagus-great flavor, and the scallops. They ranted and raved just as much as we did. Overall a good experience. Not exceptional, but well done. Cool location in downtown Redmond, OR. The decor was nice, contemporary not too stuffy. I was there on a Thursday night around 7:30 and it was pretty dead, so needless to say service was pretty prompt. Crab Cakes: The first bite I felt the scallions were a little strong, however, it just seemed to be the first bite. I've had some really good crab cakes (Tom Douglas's Palace Kitchen in Seattle with a Serrano Puree comes to mind) and these were very good, not great. They were served with a lemon beurre blanc that added a very subtle amount of bite. Filet: I will say, medium rare seems to be a tough request for many restaurants, they seem to err on the side of medium. This steak was perfectly cooked (I meant to ask if it was Sous-Vide), bacon wrapped, which I don't recall seeing on the menu (but it is on the website). It was very lightly seasoned and paired well with a Washington Cab. The menu was pretty neat, it was printed on a wood veneer, which is probably what I will remember most. The flavors were very subtle, which is not a bad thing, but this was such a simple meal, nothing really stood out. They may do something really well, but I'll have to try a few more things to see. Great staff, drinks and food. Our first trip to Brickhouse was about a year ago over Fourth of July week. We took the kids for happy hour food and a drink. The food was great, especially the Wedge and Kobe Beef Carpaccio. Good wine list and nice beers on tap. The thing that really stands out is the service. At the time our 5 year-old was being particular about what he'd eat and they really didn't have anything for him (at least that's what he thought). He wanted chicken strips, which they didn't have on the menu or in the kitchen, but the chef made them for us with chicken breast and panko...and they were awesome. Love the "can do" attitude! Just came back for a drink and appetizer in the bar. The Crater Lake gin martinis where superb, however we didn't stay for apps as it was "freezing" in there. We'll be back, but the wife will definitely bring a jacket. read more

We were staying over New Year's week at the Eagle Crest Resort, and I wanted to take our family somewhere nice for my mom's 65th bday. The Brickhouse sounded wonderful, just from the one prior Yelp review. In truth, we were so impressed with this restaurant that I actually joined Yelp! and I will be reviewing it on Google as well - I want to bring some web attention to them. They graciously honored their 'Early Bird dinner' menu (online now but it may change) which had lower prices and thus much more do-able on our budget. We had 4 adults and 2 children (who were mostly pre-fed, which was good since there isn't really a kids' menu). We tried the Top Sirloin, the Chicken Picatta, the Shrimp Scampi and the Cajon Oysters - all were wonderful. Our server (and the owner Jeff who came over) were amazingly gracious and attentive, and they comped my mom's bday dessert. Give the Brickhouse a try for a nicer dinner experience! read more

Nice establishment situated in the historic downtown Redmond. The atmosphere on the inside was extremely comfortable and the perfect setting for a delicious steak dinner. Great selection of choice steaks that were cooked to perfection. The pasta dish suited the non meat lovers palate and the special Parmesan encrusted halibut was also on point. Our server had a great knowledge of the history of the establishment which helped set the tone for the evening. Topped off with a complimentary "Yelp" salted caramel cheesecake left our entire party pleasantly satisfied. Not to mention the bill which was gladly earned and not overpriced. I had a special rack of lamb and it was the whole rack and cooked perfectly. Equal to the best i have ever had and I have had many. Nit pickers might argue that the vegetables we're slightly undercooked, but everything else was cooked perfectly. My wife had the short rib and it was also excellent. I saw the steak, I wanted the steak, I did not have the steak. Damn this trying to be healthy !!'. Although the steak looked great, the scallops I did have deserve some credit. Pan seared, light but flavored well with just enough to fill you up but not leave you with the over full "eatin good in the neighborhood" type meal. Worth a stop if you are in central Oregon. Brickhouse used to be the best place in CO but not sure what happened. We arrived at 7pm for dinner and the place was still pretty quiet. We placed our orders and 45 minutes later we were told they were out of what we had ordered and had scraped together just enough for us. It was very apparent that they added butter and lemon juice to get enough sauce for us. That made the taste horrid. My issue is why did it take so long to get our meal and why were we not told prior about the (poor) attempt to provide what we ordered and given a chance to change the order? I have recommended Brickhouse many times and especially when executives come into town. I will no longer recommend them. read more

Brian one of the bar tenders is very nice and provides great service. The food is better than average for Redmond, but far from amazing. The service is terrible! You call to make reservation and no one answers. The other bar tender is complete jerk. His ability to be kind and provide adequate service is appalling. His service is literally the worst I've had for an establishment of this Caliber. I've been coming here for over 5 years and it's steadily gone down hill. I'm at a point where I won't go anymore. Starting with the hostess, blonde bitchy girl, rude and not friendly. Our server was nice and friendly for the most part, older lady with gray hair. Order took forever to arrive, and like we figured, portions were small for such a high price and quality. If you are paying about $50 for a meal , you expect a better experience. Best steakhouse I've been to in central Oregon thus far and I've lived here for 16 years. Service is incredible and the food is cooked perfectly how you order it and it tastes absolutely amazing. Came here with friends. Had a great time, they enjoyed their food a lot and what I had, I enjoyed. I subtracted one star because it was difficult to find a vegetarian meal. I'm vegetarian and I wish that more restaurants these days had veggie options, yes , even steak and seafood restaurants. This day in age a lot of the population is vegetarian and wants to be able to go out with friends and still enjoy eating within their chosen diet. overall tho, the atmosphere and service were good. food is good. I have eaten here before an it's usually pretty good but last night not so much. The irst thing is it seems like their prices are becoming top steak house range an this is not a top steak house. My fiance an I were both extremely disappointed with our meals that came out late first off...I believe some one either forgot to cook it or forgot it while it sat under a hot light for 20 extra minutes which is more likely, it was past overdone an frankly neither of us finished them. My brother lives in town an agreed when we told him about it they seem to be declining in value. read more

Spending a couple of nights in Redmond to go to the quilt show in Sisters Oregon, we tried a few places and one of these was the Brickhouse. It is located in the charming downtown area along with a variety of stores. No we did not have a reservation, and yes we were seated right away. The restaurant was busy and remained so during our visit. The hostess and server were both friendly and did well in their jobs. The food was good and I believe we each had a variety sea food. Although I did not think the food was anything special, just good I suspect I would go back as the restaurant and service along with good is enough to draw one back. read more

My wife and I are staying in Eagle Crest for a week. We're cooking in for the most part, but wanted to go somewhere nice for our Anniversary. After reading the reviews, we decided to try Brickhouse. The menu in the window looks great and the atmosphere looked nice. When we stepped inside it was another story. My wife and I looked at each other and walked right out. The smell was so awful, we couldn't stand it. She asked me if we'd adjust, but it was so bad. It was like a rotten seafood smell that took over the open room. Good for Redmond. It's not going to be the finest dining experience you've ever had, but it's probably the best you'll find in the area. Everything we ordered was well prepared and properly seasoned and cooked as ordered. Waiter was very good with the exception of clearing before everyone was finished. Wonderful food, atmosphere, and service!!! Last time we were here, the special was "Parmesan Crusted Halibut". My husband hates fish but LOVED THIS!! This time I called ahead and asked if they could make PC Halibut and they said SURE!! Again it was one of the BEST fish dishes we have ever tasted!! You must try it even if you are not a fish lover. The food was okay. They didn't have heavy cream so I couldn't get what I ordered. Its heavy cream... you can go to any supermarket and pick that up for the nights dinner. The scallops were good but you only get to pick one side. I choose the mash potatoes and they were barely warm. There was no point in the vegetables they put on my plate, they were cut up tiny and hardly any there. Its obvious it was just for color but was inedible. Our waitress was very nice but I had made a reservation stating it was our wedding anniversary and yet they didn't offer us anything for it. Why have that option when making a reservation if you're not going to offer a glass of wine or dessert on the house? read more
