I love Conan O'Brien, so when he mentioned talking to the people at Bricks & Scones when the LA wildfires were happening on his podcast, I added it to my list of places to visit. At the same time, the studio where he records the podcast, Team Coco Digital, is just a few buildings up the street. Since I knew that would be a quick visit of just looking at the outside of the building, I figured I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and visit Bricks & Scones as well. There's metered parking at the front and I just walked from Team Coco Digital to Bricks & Scones. From the outside alone, it's already inviting. There's a nice garden patio in the front and the 2 story building has unique architecture. It definitely stands out from the outlet shopping plaza next to it. Upon entering, there's a big chandelier above your head which makes the place feel upscale. At the same time, it's not intimidating because there's a cute capybara sticker behind the cashier counter, a shelf full of board games, and hodgepodge furniture that reminds me of the TV show "Friends". The staff was friendly and when the cashier saw me taking pictures he asked if I was a photographer. For whatever reason, instead of just saying yes I outed myself and said I was a Yelper and that turned into a conversation about how he had never met a Yelper before and if I had any restaurant recommendations. Even before coming here, I looked at the menu and was pleased to see that there were several vegetarian options I wanted to try. I ended up typing them up on my phone and simply handing the list to the cashier. I bought a lot because I knew I could take the rest home and eat the leftovers. The food tastes good and everything is freshly made. I read another reviewer mention that the bakery goods are a little dry, which I also noticed, but at the same time, baked goods are inherently a bit dry. The fillings were really good, though. I chose to eat upstairs since other reviewers said it's a nice quiet area. A lot of the customers who came after me chose to eat out on the patio which also sounded appealing since it was early in the morning and not blazing hot yet. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here. Entering the front patio totally gave me the vibe of Urth Cafe with greeneries and flowers. It's relatively busy on Saturday brunch time, just like most cafes in the area. Plentiful brunch options from sweet to savory ones. I got their everything bagel with egg and bacon. The default came with cream cheese but you could opt out should you not fancy it. The dish was lack flavor to me, both the bagel and the scrambled eggs. The bacon helped a bit, but I was overall not impressed. Trying their Pistachio scone as well, which tad dry for my liking. Bricks and Scones is just wonderful for breakfast or lunch. They don't only have scones, but they do have a great selection of them. They are all made fresh and are never stale. They are some of the best. I love the thickness of them. Add a little butter or not, and you will be in scone heaven. They also have a super menu. We love their breakfast burrito and their eggs benedict. Their avocado toast is perfect and you will love their bagel sandwiches. They are made on great bagels. They also have wonderful sandwiches. We love their turkey sandwiches and their turkey mozzarella pesto sandwich is packed with flavor. They also have good salads, like their mango curry chicken salad and their regular house salad. It is all super fresh and crispy. Their prices are a tad high, but worth it for the best ingredients. They have great coffee and any of their sweet items are really good. The place is very comfortable and cute. It is within walking distance to a few nice places and it is just a nice place to walk. The service is very nice. It can get crowded and I don't think they take reservations, but the wait is worth it. The service is fast and very friendly. You can sit inside or our or get it to go. I come here often when I'm in the area and every time is a nice experience. It's a cozy little coffee shop with the old school coffee house vibes with unique decor, an inviting space to read or do work. There's no rush to leave because there's lots of space including a decent size patio, a large inside area with room on the second level. The service is good and the food is delicious. Nothing special or spectacular about the food but the coffee is on point. read more

While I haven't tried this popular cafe in person, I'd say it's a gem for great breakfast food in the Larchmont/Mid City area! I've tried the Turkey Sandwich and French Toast dishes and they were both yummy and filling. This place is absolutely fantastic and I don't know why I've never been here before especially because it is right next to my dogs' vet. The place itself is pretty cute and has a serene outdoor area where we sat. We brought our laptops to get some work done and I noticed they had extension cords even outside scattered throughout in case we needed to charge our electronics. I ordered an iced earl grey tea latte and my friend ordered a matcha latte to drink. My friend's matcha latte was fantastic but my earl grey latte (and the reason why I had to knock down a star because it is a coffee shop after all) was that it was absolutely horrible. They didn't steep the tea enough and I barely tasted the tea because it tasted like water with a splash of milk. The redeeming factor was the food. I ordered a breakfast burrito (less of a burrito and more of a healthier wrap) was absolutely fantastic. I chose turkey for the protein and asked them to add avocado and omit the beans. It came with a salad with a delicious ginger-y dressing and the salsa it came with was refreshing and clean. I would for sure come back here again. The one thing that was an absolute turn-off but in no way is the establishment's fault was that there was an older guy that took up a table of 4 by himself on his phone with his volume on max for at least half an hour and watching videos which was extremely disrespectful for everyone else and annoying/distracting. There was also another guy on the opposite side right next to us that was sitting with two other people and they were being obnoxiously loud and having a conversation as if they were the only ones there. I wish people would learn to be more respectful of their space and other people. What a shame. read more

This place is so cute when you go inside! It's a bit hard to find from the outside but if you find their little courtyard you're in the right spot. I got a large and I mean LARGE latte. Big enough to require both hands to drink. Coffee was strong and the dairy ratio was perfect. I also got two scones to try: I got the cheddar and green onion (if I remember correctly) for a savory option and the matcha white chocolate for sweet. I LOVED the cheddar one! It was perfectly soft and moist, not at all dry like some scones could be. Not too salty like other cheese scones. The Matcha one I could do without. It was drier and didn't really have much of a distinct flavor in my opinion. Lots of seating with plenty of outlets for people to work. Fast wifi! People seem to be doing much of this so the space is fairly quiet. The upstairs does feel like it could use a bit of renovating but you could argue that it adds to the charm of the place. Great spot for getting some studying and needed work done. I had to pay for metered parking at the street though because the small 'lot' in the back is really enough for a couple of cars max because the other spots are reserved for tenants. There's a good amount of chatter going on inside but it's not entirely loud. The lighting is dim and comfortable, and isn't too bright. There's beautiful outdoor seating in the front and back of this cafe. The smoothie I got was pretty delicious and the large size was also reasonable for the price. The pastries in the display case look absolutely delicious and I enjoyed a few bites of their blueberry muffin. The lady that took our order didn't really chat with us much and just took our orders, but I appreciate her for making note of my girlfriend's nut allergens. The drinks can be substituted with oat milk or almond milk. My girlfriend found her large caramel latte to be very smooth, milky, and super big! The coffee was pretty subtle and sweet to her. Outlets for personal devices located in the wall, with very comfortable and padded seats. Good for group hangouts too because there are large wooden bench-style tables. If a cafe can be a happy place, this is my happy place. From the coffee, to the food, to the varied seating options, everything about Bricks & Scones is wonderful. I only recently discovered it but have come numerous times over the last few months as I was finishing a big project. I've sat here for hours at a time: getting more coffee, moving inside or outside, and enjoying the space while working. There's a unique vibe - it's both communal and independent at the same time. This is a cute neighborhood spot. There is lots of seating (indoor+outdoor) and the workers are friendly. With that said, the scones are pretty average (a little dry) and the cappuccino was milky with not a lot of coffee flavor. Cute and aesthetic coffee shop with plenty of outlets and wifi! I visited this coffee shop for lunch on a Thursday and it was decently busy. Walking-in, I loved the vibe. There was outdoor and indoor seating and the vibe felt livery homey. It was as if pieces from an old mansion were repurposed to make this cafe. Their menu was big, but ordering was pretty easy. The staff were pretty nice. They gave me a buzzer and buzzed it so I could pick up my order. I sat outside and I was surprised to see plenty of outlets scattered everyone which was rare for LA coffee shops. The outdoor area was also nice and shaded. I ordered the iced tiramisu latte, turkey mozzarella pesto sandwich and matcha white chocolate scone. The latte was okay. It was super rich and thick because of the cream and was also very sweet. It was a bit too indulgent for me though. The sandwich was decently good and the server recommended me to get it on sourdough which was good. The bread was crispy. The sandwich was a bit too wet though since they added a lot of sauce. I also wish they used fresh turkey meat rather than deli slices. They also only gave me a mere two slices of turkey which was very thin compared to the rest of the components so I barely tasted any turkey. The side salad was nice though. Lastly, the scone was okay. It was soft and moist on the inside but the exterior was a bit burnt. My friend seemed to like it more than me. The total for all of these was $28 which was a bit on the pricey side but the food was still decently good. Overall, a good experience here and I would come again. I'm ranking this higher mainly for the vibe and setup. Would love to come back to tre other drinks and food items. read more

We absolutely adore bricks and scones! Its cute outdoor seating atmosphere (with optional seat cushions and some umbrellas) is perfect for catching up with friends or getting work done. We love their large mug pour over coffees (all their drips are done in a pour-over style) and are strong in the best way. Love their green smoothie and iced coffee options as well. I wish their rewards system was easier / more publicized but the best way to join is to ask for a printed receipt and follow the instructions printed. Rating 4* for that and the breakfast quesadilla was just okay so stick to the smoothies and coffee pretty plz. You know when you are living life and have plenty of choices- but suddenly one is forced upon you that is "good enough?" Because it is in your neighborhood, because you (since you value your child, or your free time, say) have been particularly picky, and taken your time...and now it seems you've waited a bit too long...and finally, somehow the perfect coffee place shows up. Looming in the distance, and then, suddenly a bit too late- so you almost miss the turn. Lots of space, obviously good scones- not so many bricks, laughably, and those wonderful little tables that you can't quite fit a computer and a large text book on in the front- but larger ones in the back. There is also room outside. Often a smelly man and annoying woman who has vocalization issues- plus one of the old voice actors from Scooby Don't. Never go into the bathroom with a stranger. Repeatedly, the thing you would never choose is the only thing available. Once that happened to me four days in a row, and the barista was really embarrassed and polite about it, and offered me a free drink a day for two weeks! read more

It's a cute place but the vibes are way off. The cashier is not friendly at all. I think the only thing she said was "is whole milk fine" - no thank you, or hi when we walked in. I didn't get scones during my visit, but I did order a tiramisu latte: it came beautifully prepared and it tasted exactly like a tiramisu: rich, creamy, and earthy in its coffee flavor-- definitely like eating dessert! I can also report that they make a solid cappuccino, which I think is very telling of good coffee in general. The vibes of this place are perfect for meeting someone or working/studying. The second floor is cozier, good for light studying or reading, though not a silent-library vibe. Outlets are there but not always easy to reach, so a long charger helps. Wi-Fi is solid, but you'll need the password on your receipt. Food and drinks are good, though the bill can add up if you camp out for hours. I wouldn't come here for interviews or super deep-focus work, but that's not really what this café is built for. And I don't think it's fair to dock it for that. Huge, quiet space with lots of tables. It's the perfect place for getting some work done. Street parking, but away from the busier part of Larchmont. If I were to base the review on the scones only, this would easily be a 5 star place. The coffee cake was really sweet and mushy though. Excellent breakfast from Bricks & Scones this morning in Larchmont Village. Their double espresso is so bold and delightful. Perfectly perked me up for the day with great flavor. For my main, I had the bacon, egg and cream cheese everything bagel. Perfection in a breakfast! Ingredients all went together well in a toasty warm breakfast sandwich. I also ordered their chocolate chip cookie and loved it. I can be so finicky because my bias makes me think *I* make the best chocolate chip cookies, LOL!
