Fantastic happy hour beer pricing. Between 2 and 3 bucks for a craft beer while eating out is unheard of. The wings are fantastic, and I really liked the jerk chicken as well (though it could have been spicy). Great bar staff as well. This became my go-to spot for my long stay in the area. read more

I've tried this place 3 times and guess what, 3 strikes and you're out! How is this place even still open? The food is garbage. The service is slow. No smoking anywhere on the huge patio. The decor is great but gentlemen who greeted us and found us a table was totally impersonal. They good improve the stereo sound as it is par and not clear. The drinks lost me at hello, step up on quality and taste would sell the place but tried a couple and no go. Ordered a couple apps the dry rub wings were good but when the blue cheese came out as thin runny dressing it was a disappointment. DO NOT GO! This is my first yelp review I have ever written. I felt compelled to write this though to warn others to STAY AWAY! I wish I would have been warned. I always liked the old Bricks and loved stopping in for Happy Hour. I was so excited for the new location. The building itself is very well decorated and looks very nice. However, the FOOD IS TERRIBLE!! The prices are insanely high and the portions are extremely small. The "happy hour food specials" are not special at all. Offering me a "special" food menu with ridiculously high prices is not happy hour. Plus the Brickle, you RUINED the Brickle! On top of that, you now charge me $8 for the flavorless and now very tiny app. Can I please have some pickle and cream cheese with my wanton wrapper? If you are looking for a small menu, high prices and small portions of food, then this is your place! Don't bother trying to order a lower priced item like the $12 burger. You will get a slider sized burger that tastes like nothing. Oh, the fries suck too...all 8 of them. GOOD BYE, Bricks! The wait time for food was more than an hour, and it wasn't even busy. Sunday Afternoon. Very loud, terrible music plays endlessly, even on the patio. Tiny televisions. Small portions. Very expensive. Snotty waitress and bartender. They have an OUTDOOR patio, but they feel they have the right to take away your freedom and legal right to smoke. I went to Brick's last night for their late night happy hour with a friend and overall the experience was great. The happy hour deals are pretty good, the drinks are tasty and the ambiance is really nice. What wasn't so nice was out waitress. She was not attentive at all until she wanted us to close out and leave. At that point she came over three times in the span of five minutes. First to drop off the check then back again to take the payment then stood there while we filled out our checks telling us she had to leave and needed the signed copies immediately. Don't waste your time or money going here. I rarely write a poor review but had one of my worst dining experiences in recent memory. We were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a table and it ended up being 40 and then it took almost an hour longer to get our food. Keep in mind we had three children with us. When the food did ship my wife's pasta was so runny they had to send it back. They also forgot the sides for all three children. And after all of this, what do you think they did for a trouble? A lot of 1 star and 4/5 star reviews. I think it is okay to assume that the employees/owners came up with the 4/5 star reviews. I would say this place was piss poor, but that would be an insult to piss and to poor. Here is why: 1. Service was almost non existent (aimlessly wandering waitresses who focused on talking with each other) 2. Sides were left in the kitchen when they brought the entrees (we had to point it out to her) 3. My burger was undercooked and had to be sent back (I ordered medium well!) 4. Appetizers delivered with the entrees (seriously!!) 5. Having to beg for refills (take notice that somebody has only ice left for 30 minutes) 6. Took forever for EVERYTHING (orders, refills, even the friggin' bill) Most of the time, I can think of at least one positive thing about every visit to a restaurant but I struggle to identify even one positive thing from my visit. This place can be inconsistent. Most of the time the food here is awesome, but the last few times we've gone here the food was not good and neither was the service. My husband and I decided to give it another shot since most of the restaurants in the area are chain restaurants and we end up having to go the the cities to get good food. This last time we went they seemed like they were back the food was great again we both had the specials which were amazing. I hope they keep changing their menu seasonally like they did in the past. Loved the old Bricks so me and some friends decided to check out the new Bricks. Was greatly disappointed, they changed the brickle and not for the better. The menu is now more pretentious and over priced. We decided to go during "Happy Hour" from 2-4, not really a good deal. The beer is overpriced and so is the wine. Not really any deals on food for Happy. The old Bricks was WAY better. No need to return, unless they bring back the original brickle. read more

This place has a very cool environment, but awful food. Our pork was dry and overcooked, and we found a shell in the lobster linguine. Oh, and the pasta was undercooked. Disappointment! Three of us stopped there for lunch. 13 minutes after being seated, we stood up and left because nobody had even given us water yet. The table next to us, were seated after us, yet they were served first...even though they waited nine minutes themselves. When I ask for a manager for the THIRD time waiting over five minutes for him (he was not the manager as the first two people I asked...said SHE would be over) he simply asked, "what could we do better?" This was after I had explained to him what had happened. Are you kidding me?!?!? Sorry Bricks....but your move to the new location hurt you. You went from our place of choice in Blaine....to our place to avoid. Plus...no booster seats either. Will NOT be coming back. I will also add...we used to go at least 1-2 times each month at the old location (one of our favorite places in Blaine). At the new location, we also went opening night. Used to love the old location for their food and beer, but in their move they lost something. The menu dropped some of the good old munchy favorites and replaced them with attempts at gastropub fare which in my opinion they fall short. Their main entrees are now $20+ and generally lack any real flavor, nothing like the beer cooked noodles and budget Alfredo. They are also looking at a $40 filet which is what I'd get downtown... where they at least have the courtesy of some table bread. Summary: This is not the old Bricks, more expensive with less flavor. It's unclear how this place stays in business. First, even when the restaurant has 6-9 patrons in the entire place, the service still progresses about as quickly as evolution. Second, the dingbat waiter sprayed a bleach cleaning solution on the table directly next to us with high winds that then pushed the bleach vapor onto our food/clothes/in our nostrils. Next, our appetizer came three minutes before our burgers--it was obvious our waiter forgot to put our appetizer order into the POS system. Did I mention all of this happened when the place was EMPTY?! I give credit to places that are slammed that give below average service but what was the excuse here? Although the food was good the service was a fiasco. Mother's Day brunch with 9 people we were served an endless supply of sweet rolls and fruit but only 2 thin slices of beef roast maybe 8oz total. The service is super slow. Waited over an hour for food. The food is expensive. The noodles were nothing more than buttered Ramen and the 40.00 bone in steak I ordered medium came out very well done. I had to have them take it back but it was another 30 Min. Wait. The Second time the steak was very good and flavorful but I had to watch my table eat after waiting for an hour, then had to eat alone. If I could give Bricks negative stars, I would. We are in Blaine often for soccer and eat out in the area regularly during tournaments. The service we had at Brick's was the worst service I have had from a restaurant in years. We ended up having to walk out because our food was still not ready even after my wife left the restaurant to bring my son to his game and returned. Crazy! I did not even get a chance to talk to the manager as our waitress completely disappeared and the random waiter I asked to find the manager could not find him. We went there a few years ago and it was pretty good. After they switched locations, the food was okay. The service however was absolutely awful and so slow it took us almost two hours for a simple breakfast. We found a hair in the food and they were in no rush to get it fixed. Wow. Do yourself a favor and just go across the street to the Tavern. This place is ridiculous. Super small serving sizes for higher than normal prices. I got the nachos... it's like an individual plate size (less than half the size you'd get anywhere else). My husband got mac n cheese... if I could take a picture of this toddler-sized serving, I would. And to clinch it all... he paid $9 for a glass of wine. I poured it into my water glass (which is a juice glass)... they gave him LITERALLY 2 OUNCES of wine. The waitress saw me do that and came by and said "I saw what you were doing. We pour 5 ounces here." I said there's no way that's 5 oz. So she grabbed his glass and walked away. Then she came back with his and another glass of wine, as if that's proof that they pour 5 ounces and said--I kid you not--"because of the trouble, I'm going to let you have both of these. At least this time I know why I'm here ... my wife and I didn't want to wait for a table at the Tavern, which was packed! No problem getting into Bricks. Tables aplenty. Service is always terribly slow, food is mediocre, and the prices belong in downtown Minneapolis, not the northern suburb of Blaine. There are a lot of positive reviews so am I just demanding too much for the exorbitant prices? Maybe ... but in the end I just want the old Bricks back. Not sure why the dramatic change with the new location, but if they thought they were going to grab some of that business from the Tavern ... nope, not happening. Too bad. read more
