I highly recommend Bricks Newhall if you are in the mood for an excellent burger and fries. I've had the Bricks signature burger and fries 2 times and each time the burger and fries were very good. The fries were fresh and crispy and the burger ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. Funny, they serve their ketchup in First Street brand bottles but it is obvious that they use a superior recipe because the fries are so tasty. This is a wonderful restaurant on Lyons Ave in Newhall that is family run restaurant that serves quality food and gourmet quality food at reasonable prices. They even have draft beer, bottled wine and with sitting outside or in. The place was extremely clean and there were large screen TV's with the Australian Ooen on it. Their hamburgers and sandwiches come with a variety of fries, tater tots or a side salad without an extra charge like other restaurants. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich without the foccocia bread and the waitress suggested turning into a lettuce wrap which was and so tasty and the portions are very large. I need to visit Bricks more often. We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the food, patio seating and our server. The menu is very extensive and has something for everyone including breakfast. Unfortunately they were out of shrimp so we could not get the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich. What we did order was great. The pastrami sandwich was large and tasty and the beef-lamb gyro was full of meat. The gyro was large and served on a soft pita with lots of onions and sauce. All sandwiches and burgers come with fries, but for $3 more I suggest the skinny fries. They are sooo good. And, don't forget to get some garlic aoli for the fries. Our server checked on us regularly and was so nice. I wish I could remember her name. This location is on Lyons Ave and has plenty of parking. I would not recommend it if you are really hungry, but if you are looking for something lighter it is perfect. I would give it 4/5. The kids cheeseburger was surprisingly high in quality. It was flavorful, a good size, and much better than the typical small, low-quality kids burgers I have seen at other restaurants. I was impressed with this meal and would rate it 5/5. Overall, the food was excellent and there is so much more on the menu that I look forward to trying. Our total came to $50 for a family of three, which I think is very fair. Okay, lets start out with the services, its impeccable! The lady at the front counter was so helpful and surprised that this was our first time going there. They have a lot of different things on their menu, burgers, wraps, salads, tacos, even a brunch menu for the weekends. But, we went there for their burgers and oh boy!!! did they come through with some delicious burgers. My hubby went with the Bricks burger and I went with the Vermont burger, my son went with the sliders and of course we ordered fries, drink and a beer. Both of our burgers were juicy, seasoned well, bun was a nice brioche bun, fries were super good (better than McDonalds), and their ranch is good too. The restaurant was also very clean and they have two outside patios. It was pretty cold the night we went so we dined inside. A couple of customers came in and they knew everyone by their first name and ordered food to go. When you see stuff like this, you know they're doing it right! We've already gone back twice since our first visit and now that I'm writing this review, I'm craving a burger! I'm curious about their brunch and will have to check that out soon. read more

Took my family here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I had the seared ahi tuna sandwich. It was very good. It had the right amount of spice and the tuna was cooked just right. My wife and oldest daughter each had a lettuce wrapped burger (gluten allergy) and they enjoyed it. My son and son-in-law had the Bricks burger. Everyone was happy with their burgers. We all had fries and they were outstanding. Staff was super nice and friendly. They checked on us often and made sure our waters were filled. This is a great spot for getting together with friends. As their menu says: Bacon, caramelized onion, Swiss cheese, grilled jalapenos, and arugula. I swapped out the Swiss for cheddar. TBH, it was overcooked by a longshot, however, they quickly re-did it to medium-rare perfection. Hey, there's a lot of stuff going on with this burger, and that's a good thing! While I waited, I worked on the thick, long, and crispy fries. Loved them. There were a couple of dipping sauces, including Ranch. Yum. I would have enjoyed one of their tasty-looking draft beers, but, alas, we had the road ahead. Nice staff, great food, reasonable prices, and a fun atmosphere. So glad to have found Bricks. The cashier was friendly and welcoming. Restroom is around back and she unlocked it for me. It was well stocked and clean. Sandwiches come with fries. Here's the review of my order - Hawaiian chicken sandwich: Pros: food was hot and fresh. The chicken was cooked perfectly, two slices of chicken breast well seasoned. Pineapple (2 slices were perfect) was tasty as were the red onions and bbq sauce (wish there was more bbq). The restaurant was exceptionally clean with the condiment bar well stocked and containers handy for those (like me) with to-go orders. Parking is plentiful and there is outdoor seating available. Cons: the sandwich bun was dry. As in not enough condiment. The bun itself looked great and was a nice surprise from what you'd typical expect but it also fell flat. Very bread-y, dry and not a ton of flavor. There wasn't much bbq sauce on the sandwich. Very few onions. Could have been better with just a few more toppings. Bricks is going to be a "no" for me, sadly. I don't like leaving a negative review but I just cant lie. This local burger and sandwich joint just didn't get anything right - at least not the night I visited. I ordered two burgers, both medium rare, a request they said they would ask the chef to pay special attention to since it's not something they normally do. Both burgers were cooked well done when they arrived and were completely dried out. They remade only one of the two burgers and it was still cooked unevenly - completely raw in parts and medium in others - just bad. They do offer grass fed beef and Kobe beef patty which is a plus. The starters: poutine fries and brussel sprouts, both large portions, lacked flavor and seasoning. While the brussels, fries and cheese curds had a nice crispy texture to them, and the garlic aioli helped the flavor situation, this restaurant simply fell short and sadly disappointed. Looks like a bit of a hole in the wall but the food is fantastic! Got the pastrami sandwich with a side of tots. They had garlic aioli and spicy mayo as dipping sauces, which is a major win in my book. Holy moly, the pastrami is the best I've ever had! It's sliced sooo thinly... almost like a thin bacon. It practically melts in your mouth in the best way possible. The tots were crunchy on the outside and pillowy on the inside -- absolute perfection. Mmm... I'm drooling Homer Simpson-style just thinking about it! There is seating inside and outside, both pretty sizable eating areas. On a cool night, it was wonderful sitting outside and enjoying the food that way. The staff comes out often and makes sure the patrons are doing well. Parking is pretty easy with a decent sized parking lot. On Sundays they do close a bit on the earlier side (7pm). Cannot wait to come back and try more things on the menu!! Wife and I were on our way home from LA yesterday and decided to stop here. I'll say right up front, it's pricy. For our 2 entrees and 2 drinks it was $40 so I was hoping the food would really deliver and thankfully it hit all fronts. I had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, the chicken was really well cooked and not dried out at all. The pineapple and BBQ sauce really added some pop to the flavor, I devoured it and really enjoyed every bite. The fries were nice and crispy and not saturated in oil or anything. My wife had the Vegan Steak Portobello and loved it. She said it was really flavorful and even the bread was great, her salad was fresh and vibrant and she really enjoyed that as well.
