    Mini Lobster Rolls
    Stephanie P.

This is such a charming restaurant with quality homemade food. The chef makes everything from scratch, so they require every group to place their orders for appetizers and entrees together. My group shared the mini lobster rolls, French dip sandwich, and cablarian chile shrimp. My one friend ordered the soup of the day, corn poblano. The appetizers were excellent! We would have liked some bread to share while waiting for our food. For the entrees, we ordered the hamburger and bucatini. Both were cooked to our liking. I loved my bucatini cooked with zucchini and garlic. The cherry on top were the zucchini flowers. This added a nice crunch. Our cocktails were refreshing. My summertime cocktail had cucumber and St. Germain. It was refreshing! Next door to Homesick is Lovesick, an adorable cocktail bar. When down the shore, this is definitely a must try!

Came here for brunch with some friends. They had a DJ playing and the vibes were cool. But the place was pretty empty for 11am. That being said, service was REALLY slow. We waited 20 minutes before someone came to take our drink order and even then, we needed to flag them down. By that time we were able to put in our entire food and drink order. We tried the cinnamon roll for the table and it was really good. Would highly recommend. The drinks came out after the food (even though we ordered them altogether) and I had the morning brew. It was tasty, but a little too milky and sweet for my taste. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich which was a bit dry and not super flavorful. Overall, knocking off two points stars for the really slow service, and the bland chicken. Some of my friends got the fish sandwich which also seemed pretty thin and dry. Another friend got the veggie burrito which she said was flavorless, but the salsa it came with was good. Probably would seek another brunch place over this one next time.

Brunch spot with a cold brew cocktail? Yes - let's try it! Homesick is in a central part of the downtown area and very easy to check out other notable sights (for us) - the brewery, distillery, etc. There was a really good DJ playing during brunch and brought a really nice, high class vibe to the restaurant. The service was a decent once we flagged down a waiter and we got all of our food in a well-spaced out manner. The Morning Brew cocktail is pretty good. Almost like a Vietnamese coffee and takes a good amount of time to finish. It's a great session cocktail. The food we got was good, but not the most flavorful. We would recommend the cinnamon roll and the Mac and Cheese. The entrees were good but could have used some more salt or other seasonings. The burrito did come with an aioli or other type of sauce, which was pretty tasty. For us, this was a good place for the vibe and setting. They also have nice outdoor seating where you can hear the DJ. Good stuff!

Rating again because this place never disappoints. We were here yapping away for about 2.5 hours so over time the service was a little slower for drinks but it was a lovely night out so we didn't mind. I got the GF chicken pot pie again and it was delicious as always. We also tried the Calabrian chile shrimp which were spicy but good nonetheless. Drinks spot on as usual. I love this cute little place.

I love Homesick's happy hour. They have pierogis and oysters for a good price and I believe the martini's are discounted as well. It's a cozy restaurant. We sat at the bar where our bartender was attentive and nice.

Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch around 1pm with my partner. We were able to be sat right away, however, we got the last table so definitely recommend reservations if you have a specific time in mind. Such a wonderful atmosphere with the live jazz band. We got the lemon ricotta pancakes, the veggies breakfast burrito, and a side of mac and cheese. Everything was excellent and would get everything again. Our server was also great. Can't wait to come back here and try their spot next door - Lovesick!

I made reservations here for Saturday at 1:30pm. I don't really think it was needed since they had tables opened but I would still recommend it because I usually see this place very busy and they were having 2 parties when I was there. The outside AND inside is so nice! It's spacious, nice colors, and it was just so cute! First off, they asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. We ordered still. Also, apparently, they sat us at some special table in the restaurant and we got free champagne! That was a great way to start the meal. My husband and I shared the 'Butter Board' which was sweet cream butter, sea salt, citrus zest, fresh herbs, red onion, honey, edible flowers, multigrain and cranberry bread. It was DELICIOUS! They gave us some additional bread for $1 extra. For our entrees, my husband got the 'Crispy Chicken Thigh Sandwich' which was buttermilk fried, hot honey, pickles, Bibb lettuce, spicy ranch, brioche bun. He said he didn't taste the hot honey, just tasted like the regular honey but it was delicious and they did not skimp on the honey. The fries also had great seasoning on them. For my entrée, I got the 'Heirloom Tomato Salad' which was with grilled corn bread, Point Reyes blue cheese, white balsamic-thyme vinaigrette. This, as well, was delicious. I normally don't like cornbread because it's so dry and this was dry but the corn bread was sweet. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Our server was fantastic. She was so friendly, informative and really on top of everything. If I had to give it a con... my con would be the fact they asked for still or sparkling water. I ordered still - since it's usually free - but it was $8. I wish someone told us about the price because we wouldn't have had the water at all. That's my only con.. but I will 100% be back and would recommend.

It's a beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seatings. The staff was friendly and professional. A bit layback. We had avocado toasts with a fried egg and French toasts with a side bacon. The avocado toasts were wonderful. My husband had it two days in a roll. The French toasts were tasty and the bacon was crispy.

***3 1/2 stars*** My top-tier chum and I stopped here for lunch this past Wednesday on our way down the shore. Despite the fact that 4th of July weekend was kicking off (the Parkway was slowly but surely getting more and more crowded), Asbury was pretty empty. We had our pick of tables inside and out, and opted for sidewalk seating with (my personal preference always) primo canine chum viewing. I'm not sure I've ever experienced this before in a restaurant, but the price points seemed extremely arbitrary, both for drinks and food. I can't imagine that a restaurant wouldn't put considerable time/thought into pricing their menu items, calculating time, cost, etc., and yet. As an example, my chum got a Salty Meg (vodka, grapefruit juice), which was $8. My drink, the Tutu, had an egg white, gin and lavender, was more than twice that at $17. Big jump (and to be fair, the egg white for sure adds some complexity to the process). Same with the food. My chum got the tuna tartare app, which was $22. I got the spaghetti with fried egg, which was a legit entree and almost half the cost at $14. Again, I'm sure there's a rationale for it but the optics were a little odd in our opinion - not necessarily a negative. I liked the spaghetti/fried egg dish - the inclusion of the breadcrumbs and parmigiano gave it almost a high-end Italian breakfast sandwich vibe, which I was not upset about. The tomato conserva wasn't my vibe but it was easy to just scrape that to the side. The Tutu was also tasty; I love egg whites in cocktails, and the lavender complements them well. Smooth and floral. My chum was pretty underwhelmed by her cocktail, which wasn't mixed well but once she stirred it around a bit the taste improved - bit of an unforced error there though. The service was perfectly fine. We were mostly already on vacation mode so we weren't exactly checking our watches (just nervously side-eying the GSP on Google Maps) but everything came out timely and our waitress stopped by regularly to check in. As we were leaving, my chum commented, "This was fine." It was. It could have been better and I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place, but it was by no means a bad experience.

It's super cute in here. They had a jazz band playing during brunch. This was my first time going even though recommended by so many people. Our serve was great. I got the blueberry ricotta pancakes. They were very good but definitely have had better. Still 100% recommend.

We visited Homesick twice during our weeklong stay in Asbury Park: first just for drinks, and then for dinner. The drinks are fantastic: well balanced and visually stunning. The food is very good as well. We shared the shrimp cocktail, which came with a delicious homemade cocktail sauce, and then I had the chicken pie and my husband had the veal cutlets. We also shared the roasted carrots. Everything was tasty, and the service was really great.

We decided, spur of the moment, to go to the shore last weekend and wound up in Asbury Park. We had never been and arrived around lunch time. We spotted Homesick, next to Lovesick (its sister wine bar) and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We immediately saw one item on the menu which caught both of our attention. The Chicken Pot Pie. It's not often you see homemade chicken pot pie on the menu, so we both opted for the dish. It all starts with the crust and this one was as flaky and buttery as I've ever had. The filling of chicken, potatoes, onions and a mix of vegetables and herbs was delicious! It was a great start to our weekend!

Homesick is a perfect spot for a girls day or a pre-dinner hangout! It has beautiful decorations and has a light, airy feel to the place! We sat at the bar area and ordered an avocado toast and tomato heirloom salad along with a "mimi" brunch cocktail. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend this spot if you are in Asbury

LATE NIGHT STOP!! Work compete, hungry, need to relax…read morebefore heading back to MD. Found this spot open with a late night bar and grill. Now what I will say is make sure you have your cash ready this is a cash only establishment which is not bad at all what you saw as a price is what you paid. Plus the specials that they had were cash only as well and they were worth the bucks. Nothing was too expensive great pricing I don't think I saw anything over $20. Plenty of drink options in the best little glasses that are complimentary of Ball, if you are familiar. As we arrive we met this really nice security guy super cool even came to check in on us at some point through the night an amazing bartender super cool great conversation great tattoos. Sorry I was tired so I didn't get a name but when you see him you will know it. So we did a little late night dipping and dabbing just got something light sweet chili wings perfectly cooked perfect flavor and adjust the right amount of sauce with the freshest celery and carrots! My partner was looking for something heavy so he indulged in the burger and the sweet tater w Pico queso. Delicious .. We remember seeing this place over the summer and all we remembered was a lot of people standing outside so we didn't realize what the bar was but this weekend we stopped in and were pleasantly surprised we will definitely be back and looking forward to it!

My short rib ragu was actually delicious. Unfortunately, my wife saved me half her chicken dish and the piece I ate turned out to still be raw. I stopped eating once I noticed, but the damage was already done. Also, quick PSA on the dirty martini: it's shaken with blue cheese and comes out looking more like blue cheese dressing than a martini. Definitely not for everyone, so just know what you're signing up for.

My friend and I were in town for an event and looking for a place to grab an early dinner…read morebeforehand when I came across Moonstruck. The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.
