The ice cream was mediocre. Friendly service though. Seems like people in the Hamptons are missing out on really good ice cream.

I'm creating a Yelp account just so I can write a review about how bad this place was. Wasn't it supposed to shut down months ago? Came in for ice cream and they have some kid scooping which is literally the easiest job and he couldn't even do it. My cone came with the two smallest scoops of ice cream that didn't even go to the bottoms of the cone but just stayed on top. The actually ice cream tasted like it had been in the freezer since the summer. The cookie dough scoop had no cookie dough. The chocolate brownie had no brownie. I basically paid $7 for a large chocolate and vanilla cone that i could have gotten down the block at carvel for $4 that would have actually tasted good. This place is a diner right? I asked the lady for a black tea. She said she didn't have any until another customer at the counter pointed out that the Lipton is black tea and she said oh is it really? Tasted the 'black tea' when I got in the car and it was raspberry. read more

We stopped in the Candy Kitchen today after hearing good things about the popular breakfast/lunch diner. However we soon realized that these reviews were awfully false. The food was okay. The cole slaw tasted like it had gone off and the rest of the food was just kinda average. Our waitress was incredibly rude to us. Upon arriving she laid down our place matts but didn't give us menus... So we had to get up and get our own. After telling her that we weren't quite ready to order yet we didn't see her for the next 15 minutes. While ordering she was impatient and not in anyway helpful. The service was slow and we waited for our food for over a half hour. During this time I didn't see our waitress once and judging by her size she was probably off snacking on something. I understand that the place was busy but the service was entirely lacking and the food was poor. I finding somewhere else for your breakfast needs. read more

An old fashioned staple for sure!! I can remember going here after ballet class as a child, so I hold this place dear in my heart. It is always packed!! Great atmosphere and decent diner style food. A great place for Sunday Brunch. read more

Good home-made ice cream, but not the biggest selection, maybe 12-15 flavors. I can't comment on the food because I haven't eaten there. When I'm dealing with traffic on 27 I always make it a point to stop by for a cone, and I'm not even a huge ice cream fan. read more

Bridgehampton Candy Kitchen.....one of the best ice cream parlor I've been. Not only because of its homemade ice cream concoctions and emblematic selections but also the impressive restoration of its historic adornment. A must stop if your heading on the furthest point in Long Island. read more

This review is only based off the ice cream we ordered-- we did not try their food. This ice cream was delicious! Sweet, creamy, and soft. There weren't a crazy amount of flavors, but what they did have was great. Best ice cream we tried in the Hamptons and we got ice cream almost every day. The employees did seem to be in a bit of a hurry since they always seem to have a bit of a crowd, but they were still very nice. read more

Very disappointed ! Drove all the way out there Friday night from east Northport! Got there 9 pm they are listed as closing 9:30 They must have closed early they were in there cleaning up ! Fairly good standard diner food and a huge selection of ice cream. The breakfast menu is good but basically what you'd expect from a standard diner menu. The eggs and toast are good, very filling, and huge. Prices are high for a diner, but not too bad for the hanptons. Service was very friendly and helpful. Delicious coffee. read more

I only got ice cream. Two flavors in a small cup- blackberry and peach. It's tasty full fat ice cream. However, I was surprised and disappointed that there were no actual pieces of fruit in either ice cream. read more

We had spent the day out on Nick's Beach. On the way back we decided to stop by this creamery looking store front. I had chocolate with chocolate chunks. The ice cream was definitely creamy, not too sweet, and light. I really enjoyed the sugar cone. One neat feature was at the bottom of the cone. They filled the inner cone with hardened chocolate so that when the ice cream mets the bottom tip doesn't leak icecream all over you. I think I like the decor more than the ice cream. If you're looking for an old fashion- home made kinda ice cream, this is the place for ya! read more

We were so excited to visit this place! We had heard that one of the cast members of Royal Pains frequents this spot so we were in hopes of a delightful treat. When you walk in, you feel as if you are in the 1920's with the deco and the simple menu options. We tried the ice cream first. (We like to break the rules) It was pretty good. Had a nice creamy consistency. Then we ordered the gyro. Amazing! So overall, it wasn't knock your socks off kind of place, but if you want to enjoy a simple lunch or breakfast, this is your place. read more

If you want to experience what it's like to have breakfast with children please go to candy kitchen. Most parents in the restaurant allow their children to scream, fight with each other and at one point throw food at each other. When I mentioned to one farther if there was any chance he can keep his son quiet for a half hour he replied" you don't belong here, this is normal behavior. I was able to leave but he has to live with this his whole life. BTW Food was awful! read more

I used to go Candy Kitchen a few times a week. Beginning last summer, their service has gotten so bad, I won't go back there. The wait staff is totally unresponsive to their customers, at time, I was treated with disdain Too bad, the food is good read more

Worst omelet I have ever had, all I could taste was salt. Toast was soggy even though it was dry. Amazing since it only took about five minutes to make the food. Waitress could see that I barely touched the food and still had no problem charging me the full $13 something for it even after I told her how bad it was (kindly). They don't take plastic but of course the have an ATM just at the entrance but don't worry there is a $2.50 fee for that as well. read more

I don't understand why this place has so many negative reviews. I come here with my family once in a while, and it's always been amazing. I went there recently and got the blueberry pancakes, which were PACKED with blueberries. I also got a peppermint milkshake which blew me away! The staff are all super nice. If you want to go to a fun diner with your family, I urge you to come here. read more

We love the Candy Kitchen BLT and the great candy kitchen tomato salad. We love the look and the waiters.

we are from texas, and we visited candy kitchen in november 2010. we loved it....the service was perfect and the food was great. two years later, with the same excitement we brought my father raving about the food...... we arrive....a tall snotty high school boy finally answers my questions on seating.......omg what happened........it's july (i know it's more busy) our haggered.... waitress comes over it's only 10;55 in the morning. we order....it takes some time but we know it will be good.......i order a health plate , and i explained how i wanted my hamburger cooked....my husband ordered a pastrami sandwich with potato salad..and my father orders a cheeseburger..........i get my health plate with fermented fruit and cottage cheese and the waitress scolds me because i ordered wrong...but she can give me the hamburger pattie in a little while..............my husband got his pastrami but no potato salad ....even though he requested it 2 times.....he never got it....i felt like i was in elementry school asking the cafeteria lady for seconds....she got no tip from us needless to say.....shame on you candy kitchen.....perhaps you need to revitalize your staff..................(the waitress was not the blond with the limp......the lazy one with the fat ass) read more

Totally great experience! In town for a wedding and stopped on a rainy Saturday morning for breakfast with my family. We sat at the counter, had a delicious breakfast, the service was great and fast! Definitely try this place out! read more

Not sure why this place is still around ... went in there with my hubby and 5 kids - just for ice cream - I feel like when you enter an establishment that kids are welcome - not that we should have special attention because of so many children but get us our menus a little quicker so we can decide what we want before anyone has a melt down. We waited 10 minutes for our menu's - then another 10 for the waitress to come back to take our order - after we already told her we were there for just ice cream - 15 minutes later the ice cream came out - gobbled it up - now it was ok ice cream but we ordered something called a queen sundae 4 scoops 4 toppings - Im thinking we have us and the kids lets order two - they were very small - Im an ice cream lover so to have homemade ice cream I thought it was going to be divine - Friendly's is way better! ... the sundaes came out in these bowls that held 4 small scoops of icecream - and very skimpy with the toppings - for $11.50 per sundae !! Then the waitress never came back we waited 10 more minutes and decided the kids are driving us nuts - why are we waiting so long for the check?? Well we walk out of the back dining room and I had to interrupt our waitress talking to another waitress - I asked if we pay up front and she WROTE THE CHECK OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Now I had to wait for that!! Needless to say I did not leave her a tip and I will NOT be going back there - Friendly's may be a fast food type chain restaurant but the service is always good - the food is always good and the ice cream is awesome!
