The living experience is just so so. But as everybody see above, the moving experience is terrible. We thought of continue leasing a bigger apartment here, but decided to quit and inform the leasing office even 2 months before we moved. But they still charge us $1000 more for moving out. If you dont wanna stay with them again, they gonna try everything to rob you. It's like bullying their residents. 1. our moving date is the mid of November . Since we decided not to continue living here, they process the deposit return before 09/26(you can see below), which shows that they absolutely know we are moving one month before the moving date. If they don't know, why they processed the deposit return?! By the way, they put a wrong address for the check so they still OWN ME $540. 2. The email below is how they ask us to reconsider staying with them, apparently they knew we moving! If they did not, why they asked us to reconsider. 3. I called and sent the evidence today but no one answer. Everything shows that they knew we are moving and they even started processing it. But at the end they still charge us. More and more people moving and they even expect people to reconsider staying with them? Ridiculous & keep on DREAMING. I am not sure whether this review will be answered or not, but I guess they will answer with a bunch of so call "our policies". I am waiting this place to have a 1 star on yelp. That won't take long.

I arrived around 1:12 AM and had to wait at the entrance because I had not been provided a gate code. I was actively trying to contact the resident, who eventually remotely opened the gate for me around 1:15 AM. However, the towing paperwork says my vehicle was already "observed" and dispatched for towing at 1:14 AM. I completed the delivery and returned within only a few minutes. My vehicle was already hooked up, but the tow truck was still inside the apartment property. My husband and I immediately approached the tow operators, explained why we were there, and asked them to release my vehicle. I called 911 at 1:22 AM while this was happening. The towing company's own paperwork says my vehicle was not "removed" until 1:24 AM. Instead of releasing the vehicle, the operators continued towing it through the gate. They stopped again outside the property, where the situation became even more confrontational. I was upset and trying to explain what had happened, but the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. One of the tow workers made a disrespectful comment to my husband about me needing to "watch my mouth," and I was ultimately told that I would not be getting my car back and would have to pick it up from the tow yard. I felt like I was being treated as if I had done something malicious when I was simply there to complete a delivery and leave. I was then left stranded around 2 AM in an unfamiliar area with my purse and wallet still inside my vehicle. I only had my phone with me and had to walk approximately 20 minutes to the tow yard, where I had to pay hundreds of dollars to retrieve my car. The entire experience was stressful, upsetting, and handled in a way that I believe was unnecessarily harsh. What makes this even more concerning is that after looking into this property, I found other public complaints involving parking enforcement and towing. I am clearly not the only person who has raised concerns about towing here, including complaints from residents and visitors. That raises serious questions about how parking enforcement is being handled at this property. I understand that apartment communities need parking rules. What I do not understand is a system where a visitor or delivery driver can apparently be flagged for towing within minutes, before they have even finished gaining access to the property, and then have their vehicle taken despite returning and asking for it back. I have preserved my towing paperwork, timestamps, 911 call record, delivery records, and witness information, and I have formally requested that both the apartment management and towing company preserve any surveillance footage, gate records, towing authorization records, photographs, and communications related to this incident. Anyone visiting or delivering to this property should be extremely careful about where they stop or park, even for a very short period of time. Management should seriously review how towing is being handled here and whether residents, guests, and delivery drivers are being given clear and reasonable notice.

Fast forward to July 2020 and we were able to break our lease and move into one of the newer apartment units here at Bridge Bay and we absolutely love it! We used to pay ~$150 in Trash, Water, and Sewer fees per month. Here at Bridge Bay, water & garbage are inclusive, our rent is almost $700 less and our home is 100% cozier than our previous apartment. We were also lucky enough to receive a move-in special which was a bonus! The neighborhood feels safe and friendly. The Property Manager, Luz, is super sweet! She's very responsive, informative and helpful. The Maintenance guy, Alvaro, is also very friendly, helpful and efficient. Management at the last complex was ever changing, slow to respond and condescending. So, we're very hopeful and happy to have such a great team here. One of our "must haves" was to have a washer/dryer in our unit. Having to use shared laundry facilities was initially a concern for us, but the laundry room is only 20 steps away, clean, and well-kept. At our previous apartment we had a W/D in unit but they were junior appliances. The W/D's here at Bridge Bay are commercial grade; 5-6 loads used to take us all day to do laundry... Now we only have to do 1-2 loads and it only takes 2 hours at most. The parking options are amazing and close to your unit, and there's also plenty of street parking nearby too. The community is very well lit which is a plus. Being less than five minutes away from supermarkets, eateries, gas stations and the freeway is also very appealing. Bottom line is- we wish we moved into Bridge Bay from the get go, but now we have a genuine appreciation for this place. We plan on staying here for awhile!

Units were clean and maintained fairly well. Our unit had older windows but manny of the others have newer style windows. Our only downside to living here was the location of our unit. We happen to be right next to the pool which can get noisy during warmer days. There's also a bit of noise from the street with some louder cars that drive by or race down Jarvis. For us it's loud but many of the other buildings don't have any of those noise issues. Weather in Newark is always cooler than the rest of the east bay and there's usually a nice breeze that comes through to keep air moving. We were happy hear for the most part for 2 years but our family is growing and it's time for a bigger place.

I remember the first time we toured this place we fell in love with how cozy it was. It felt like a real home and an upgrade to the place we were previously staying. 1 car garage with additional driveway & street parking, in unit washer/dryer, backyard for gardening, upstairs balcony...plenty of space! I could go on about all the good qualities! They all outweigh bad. We had a couple issues with neighbor smoking in the backyard, dribbling basketballs past quiet hours, finding parking after a certain hour but I feel those issues are common things in all apartment complexes. These issues were addressed. Overall, we enjoyed our time. Safety is a priority and we did not encounter a bad experience with theft or break-ins inside the community. (Sometimes we would forget to close our garage over night and everything stayed in place the next morning hehe). Can't forget to mention how close this place is to Safeway. Super convenient. Also a good distance to lake Elizabeth as well. Last but not least, Kathy (manager) and Jason (maintenance) are truly the best people for this job. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. WARNING on this property: shady practices; outrageous charges; potentially taking advantage of…read moreelders with language barriers. I signed a lease with Artist Walk Apartments. During our inspection of the apartment on the day of moving in, we found the apartment to be extremely noisy. The noise comes from the bathroom fans that are on 24/7 (you cannot turn it off). We measure the noise to be around 70 dB at highest, 55 dB at lowest. The Fremont noise regulation requires a continuous noise of less than 45 dB at night. Because the apartment does not meet government noise regulation, and we were legit getting severe headches from the noise of the apartment, we immediately requested to cancel the lease. Problem begins: My parents don't speak English well. They arrived at the leasing office first, and were asked to sign the apartment inspection document BEFORE they were allowed to inspect the apartment. They were told that if they don't sign, they aren't abe to get keys. As a result, they were conned into signing the inspection document before we found out that the apartment does not meet government noise regulation. Because we signed the inspection document, the apartment now insists that we have "Moved In", and not only do they refuse to refund our 600 USD deposit, they also requested us to pay two months of rent totalling almost 8000 USD for us to cancel our lease. Please note that we NEVER moved into the apartment, and we requested to cancel the lease WELL within the 24 hours of our apartment inspection. We have reported all of our noise findings to various government agencies, and we are fighting all of the charges through all legal means available to us. Please note that they have initially agreed to "Cancel" our lease, but now threatened us with TWO months rent for "breaking" our lease. They said they would replace the fans, but repeatedly made it clear that it may not solve the issue. Since they cannot promise the issue to be resolved, we insisted on cancelling our lease. So now we have to seek legal means. They have now demanded a payment of well over 8000 USD because we've touched the apartment keys. They refused to admit that their apartment violates the government noise regulation and unethically made my parents sign the inspection document BEFORE they were allowed to inspect the apartment. We requested to cancel the lease PURELY because the apartment noise violates government regulation. Even their own measurements showed a clear violation. In the end, it is the unethical practices from these people that are truly shocking. They clearly think us civilians do not have the means to fight back. The apartment itself shoudn't be allowed on the rental market until all issues are fixed; but in the end there is no easy fix to subpar morals, discrimination, lack of ethics, penchant for manipulation, and a complete disregard of rules, regulation, and human decency. July 11th, 2025: For legal purposes I am writing this update to respond to "Maggie". I have plenty of communication evidence, and formal evidence that I've tried to resolve this issue "informally" with your team. I am no longer interested in circling back and forth with your team. So far, your team have done nothing but gaslight me, provide conflicting accusations that shouldn't make any sense even to yourself. Here is a summary of what you have done so far: 1. I received an application credit of 50 USD. You now said you will be charging me for that because I DID NOT move in, and the credit only applies when I've moved in. 2. You requested that I pay two months rent to "break the lease" because I DID MOVE IN. Note, in previous bullet point your reason for charging me was I DID NOT move in. So which one is it? At this point, it is clear you are just making up things as you go so you can charge me. 3. With all of the above stated charges, you still refuse to refund my 600 USD deposit, for what reason? 4. On July 7th, when we inspected the apartment, we immediately asked for the fans to be replaced. They refused. We asked to cancel the lease. They said we can cancel, but it has to be done immediately. We complied and canceled immediately. 5. A day later, after THEIR OWN measurements showed THEIR OWN noise violation, they tried to glaslight us saying the apartment is fine. They can try to update the fan for us, but it most likely won't change anything. Because they made zero promise to resolve the issue, we insisted on our cancelation. 6. 3 days later, they threatened us saying we broke the lease, and they will be charging us two months rent for breaking the lease; 600 USD for the deposit we already paid; AND they are going to charge me for the application credit of 50 USD I received (see first two points). This experience has been completely insane. I feel like rules are being made up along the way to charge me as much money as possible; these rules came out of no where and were in NO WAY disclosed beforehand.

Since the management change, the service quality has significantly declined. The office is rarely accessible. Many times the office is closed during normal business hours, and even when staff are inside, the door remains locked. We knock repeatedly and still receive no response. There is also no fixed lunch schedule anymore. The manager leaves for hours at random times, which makes it nearly impossible for residents to get assistance. The previous management had clear timings and provided prompt and professional support, but that standard is completely gone now. Customer service has been very poor. Work orders remain pending even after multiple reminders. Requests are ignored and residents are left waiting with no updates or communication. The most serious incident involved the laundry machines. My clothes were left inside the dryer and the machine overheated and burned them. I immediately emailed the leasing manager explaining the situation. She did not respond the entire day. I emailed again the next day and still received no response. I then went to the office where she was inside with the door locked. After knocking several times she finally opened the door. When I explained the issue she said Jose checked the email (but didn't replied to that email) and told me to speak with him instead. After I explained everything to Jose, he simply said it was not their responsibility and that I should contact the laundry company myself. I asked for help since the machine is on their property, but he only opened the dryer door and refused to assist further. My expensive clothes were destroyed and management showed no concern, no follow-up, and no accountability. Overall, this management is extremely unresponsive, unprofessional, and dismissive toward residents' concerns. Rude behavior, lack of availability, ignored emails, and unresolved maintenance issues have made living here very frustrating. I strongly recommend future renters carefully reconsider before leasing here under the current management.
