What can I say??? Linda is amazing. 6 months ago I was over zealous and ordered a bridesmaid dress 2 sizes too small with the hopes of losing weight. While I did fit into that size, the brand ran small and 2 weeks ago I found myself in a dress I couldn't zip up. Now....any place can take a dress in but not everyone can take it out. Fearing that I would have to break the news to my soon to be sister in law, I called an Alfred Angelo (the disgner) retailer, and asked what I should do. They recommended Linda at Bridgettes cleaners. After going there and trying on the dress I had my reservations. 1st of all there was a HUGE language barrier. Secondly Linda kept telling me how I was too big. If I hadn't been so desperate I probably would of been offended. She had told me if I lose 5 lbs the she could probably make it work. Needless to say I wasn't feeling confident. After reading the reviews I knew it would be expensive. So when Linda gave me my receipt and told me to come back in a week, I waited to read the price til I got in the car. I was shocked to see it was only $70. I already felt better... A week later I returned, 7 lbs lighter and still scared it wouldn't fit. Well, it didn't fit...it was too big. Linda quickly pinned it in the too big spots and told me to come back in a week. Well, today I came back. I didn't have time to try it on so I paid the $70 (no extra charges for the second alteration) and left with my fingers crossed. Well I just stepped out of the dress after trying it on and it looked like it was made for me! It fits like a glove and I can't wait for the wedding! If you have a difficult alteration, go to Linda. She's hard to understand and may accidentally offend you but she's amazing! I will never take my alterations or dry cleaning anywhere else! read more

These people are rude and don't know the first thing about customer service. I took my mother in law to get a dress altered and was quoted $25 for the alteration and adding a fastener at the collar. After some discussion, we decided not to do the alteration and just add the fastener. Guess what the quoted price was? $25. The same price, for less work. We left and never went back. read more

#1 They deal only in cash which I think is really sketchy. #2 Alteration prices are reasonable, but dry cleaning is through the roof! #3 I brought in my pre-printed ticket expecting to pay the amount shown. The woman crossed it out and wrote a new total. I couldn't understand why they raised the price when I picked up the garments and her communication skills were not good enough to provide an explanation. read more

I've been going to Brigette's for years and will only get alternations done here. I have gone for prom, brides maid dresses and than then my wedding. I am not the largest chested woman, so getting dresses to fit me on top can be difficult, but this place never fails me. I alway come out looking like I had something custom fitted. I was very disappointed when I went to this business for alterations. It is not Brigette anymore. The woman that took over the shop is VERY rude. I brought in my wedding dress for alterations and the woman was so rude, she kept telling me ...A LOT OF WORK !!!! She said 250.00 or more and I said that was fine. Linda saved my fiancée's dress just days before our wedding. The sleeves that Lucy's Alterations made were sewed on crooked, had uneven seams, loose lace, somehow got a hole that she sloppily patched, and in general were a complete mess. The day my fiancée tried to bring it back (three days before our wedding I might add and a day before the 4th of July holiday) Lucy said someone would be there, but no one was at the store. She was desperate so she went up the street to Bridgette's to see what she could do to fix the sleeves. Linda took one look at the sleeves and said she would try to fix it as best as she could. Flash forward to Friday, July 6th (the day before our wedding) my fiancée goes back and immediately noticed that Linda made all new sleeves. Apparently, what Lucy made was completely irreparable so must have decided to started from scratch and made the sleeves perfectly. My fiancée was so overcome with emotion that she cried tears of joy. You're a rockstar, Linda. Thank you for your professionalism, impeccable alteration skills, and for not taking advantage of my fiancée by gouging her with crazy prices due to the rush. Brought my suits and shirts to get dry cleaned. Boy, these people are ripping us off. These folks are ridiculously expensive and on top of that they don't take credit cards. The lady that didn't speak much English, kept on saying cash only, cash only!!! I think IRS should look into any business that operates under a cash only policy. They technically wouldn't have to claim every order cause no be would really know????? Next website.... IRS hotline. On top of that they have lost/misplaced one of my shirts. They never found it and after 4 weeks they called and stated that they'll do my next dry cleaning for free. I was like WTF??? I refused their offer and gave them the receipt to my shirt because I just bought it recently. They looked at the receipt and said how do I know this is the shirt?? Why is it so expensive? I'm like WTF???? These people are something, long story short, they finally gave me my money back because I was going to contact the media. I had an appointment today at 5:30pm (they close at 6pm) to get an estimate on wedding gown alterations. I came in, changed to my wedding gown and came out. She was really nice at first, chatted a bit and started talking about what needed to be altered. I was looking for a 8-10 point bustle, shorten the length, taking in the sides (bust to thigh, since it was mermaid style) and adding built-in cups. She started to pin my gown so I would get a better idea of the look. I am very protective so I politely asked her if the pins would it make a hole in my dress, she quickly replied no. After all the pins were in my dress, I asked her how much and is pressing included. She said +/- $350 and yes. She then walked away to work on other garments. So I was standing in front of the mirror in my dress, which was all pinned, with no help. I spoke to her in English the entire time, though I'm Chinese. As she was walking away, she said out loud to another girl in Chinese, (translation) that I'm "too much trouble". At this point, I just wanted to get out of there. I took all the pins off myself, got my stuff together and left. She followed me out since I still had the cups in my dress, which was in my garment bag and in the trunk of my car. I unzipped the garment bag to search for it. Boy, she really dig for it - the dress was pretty much everywhere. I said I'll do it, she replied "you already took up a lot of my time". I have never been so disgusted at any establishment. Just to concluded, I will never go back there or recommend this place. For $350 alterations, you can pretty much go elsewhere. I came here with 2 other bridesmaids to get our dresses altered. They did a great job! She was very patient. She took her time pinning us and then made sure everything looked ok. One of the girls was 5 months pregnant and she was able to let the dress out enough to fit. They stayed late one night to let us come pick up the dresses after 6. They did a great job! My dress fit so much better and her prices are reasonable. She did a lot of work on my chiffon dress and charged me $70. One of the other bridesmaids took it to a place in downtown SF and they charged her the same amount and she did less work to it. I took my wedding dress here to be cleaned. It had dirt all along the bottom hem due to walking in grass, dirt, and mud. Since the dress is 5 layers of lace, silk, etc. it was going to be a lot of work. For about $150 they cleaned it up, and it looks like new again! I'm very happy with the care and attention to detail they put into my wedding dress! read more

Bridgette knows her business when it comes to alterations. You might come in to have your pants hemmed and she'll tell you what else needs to be done to make the leg of the pant look proper. She was recommended by a friend and since she was so close I went in. I needed a bridesmaid dress altered. It was strapless and had boning around the torso. I needed it taken in and she more than suggested things that needed to be done to look right for a full breasted figure. Having never had something altered professionally, her price seemed a little steep, but when I was getting ready for the wedding with the other bridesmaids, they all kept saying how lucky I was I didn't need to alter my dress. I was surprised, and explained that I did have it altered. After each bridesmaid pointed out all the pinching around the boning in their dresses, and even a rouching effect in places. I looked in the mirror and my dress looked just the way it looked when I bought it. No pinching, visible stitching, gathered or rouching material! The top looked like it fit like a corset, smooth and supportive, without being uncomfortable or the dreaded look of falling out that can happen when your top heavy. It was perfect! And when I found out others had paid the same if not MORE for their results i knew Bridgette's price was MORE THAN FAIR, it was worth every penny. To this day when I look at my cousins wedding album I secretly laugh to myself at the imperfections that I'm sure I only notice in the other girls dresses. (Of coarse I would never point them out to my cousin, cuz I wouldn't want to mar her vision.) I am coming to her again for yet another bridesmaid dress, and I have nothing but complete faith that again it will be wonderfully perfect. Even though I think I only need it hemmed and or maybe a new zipper pull, I am excited to see what she thinks must actually be done! read more

The dry cleaning prices are average and they can be a little disorganized sometimes; however, their alterations are professional-looking and reasonable. I've had everything done here: size large dresses made small, a too-snug dress let out, jeans hemmed, skirts taken in, etc.--I'm always pleased with the fit and the look. I was referred here by the store I bought my wedding dress from. Linda is amazing... she did a great job on my wedding dress and rehearsal dinner outfit... and all i spent was a total of $170! You can tell she takes a lot of pride in what she does ... and she's pretty funny too. I live in San Francisco, but will bring all of my alteration needs down the peninsula to Brigette Cleaners for a long time to come. I have been coming here for years and Linda is a very good tailor. She is, however, pricey but you can rely on her work that it will be done right. She doesn't cut corners and she has always done an excellent job on all the bridesmaid dresses I have needed altered. Probably would recommend her for fancy dresses because of her pricing. read more

We recently got married and I referred my mom to this place because they have been there for a long time and I remembered them being pretty good when working on prom dresses, bridesmaids dresses, etc. Unfortunately this was a horrible experience for my mom. Just weeks before the wedding my mom took her dress to Brigette's to have the collar and part of the dress pressed. When she went to pick it up she noticed that all of the pretty sequence came off the dress! Apparently they had done the opposite of what she asked and dry cleaned it. Excuse me, for being in business for such a long time with your seamstresses working there, don't you think you would know better than to make this mistake? Linda told my mom that she was sorry and that she didn't have to pay for the service. Really, is that the best you could do? I even called to speak with her as she sounded as though she barely spoke English. I explained that I was the daughter and asked if she understood me and what could she do for us? You have to understand that it can take awhile to find your dress, then to get the accessories like shoes, jewelry, purse, etc. Then to have this happen...so frustrating! She said she would try to sew the sequence back onto the dress and that it would be difficult. After a couple of trips back and forth to this place (to bring Brigette the sequence), since of course it had to match the gold dress, they couldn't do it. Well, thank you for finally cutting my mom the cash. The point in fact is that my frustrated and upset mom took her dress and ended up sewing sequence on herself. To be honest, no one even noticed since my mom looked beautiful, bringing tears to my eyes. Bottom line here is poor customer service and NOT a place I'll recommend! Thanks for reading! read more

We used Brigette cleaners For my daughters wedding. I have never met someone who knows exactly what to do. She did my daughters wedding dress, 2 fittings and said if she lost anymore weight she would take it in a bit more and now it's 6 days till the wedding. I was the matron of honor and mother of the bride. Linda gave me some ideas and they worked out great. One of the bridesmaids ordered her dress 2 sizes too small and 2 weeks before the wedding took it to Linda. She took it apart and made it fit. She also altered the flower girls dresses. High quality work, reasonable turn around time, wonderful customer service, and more importantly... did I mention HIGH QUALITY?! My one and only ONE STOP SHOP for dry cleaning and alterations. I work in the airline/aviation industry and expectations are severely high to maintain and upkeep our uniform to the point where my airline even funds my dry cleaning. I've been around the neighborhood testing out different dry cleaner venues to handle my uniform only to be disappointed and upset. It wasn't until I stopped by the famous Rib Shack (right next door to that neat garden gift shop) for dinner one day that I passed by Brigette's. Their front window is big and open and allows you to peer into their tidy workspace where you can see them work on different pieces. At the time, Brigette was working on this big elegant white wedding dress which caught my attention. If someone was willing to entrust this place with THAT dress, then they must be doing something right. I usually have 5 sets of uniform dry cleaned at once but I brought in 3 first to test it out. To my surprise, they asked me when I would need my uniform, versus other venues where they would just throw me a random pick-up date (usually a week later) based on their own schedule. I told them two days would be ideal, and that was that. 2-days later, my spot-less and pristine uniform were ready for pick-up. EASY. It's not always that I can pick up my uniform within 2-days which is completely understandable but their willingness to accommodate you is what I really appreciate. I've also needed tailoring and alterations for my uniform and they helped me out with that too. Their alterations process is really calm and helpful because they'll offer suggestions but won't insist on doing anything that you don't want. Now, several of my colleagues go to Brigette's for uniform tailoring and maintenance because they're that awesome! read more

They took it in, said it was not a problem and returned to me a perfectly fitted garment. I am sold and will take all my alterations here from now on. I came here to get my suede skirt dry cleaned. I was told it would be done a week later which was perfect as I was leaving for college a few days after the original pick up date. However I was rubbed the wrong way as they told me it would be $40 and up and I asked what they meant by up and she said laughed and said ok $40. It made me feel like they were trying to haggle more money out of me. I left the store and a week later I get a call saying my skirt wasn't ready and it would take another week. I told her I was leaving town and would be need my skirt. To which they said, they don't have it yet and they would have it next week. Frustrated, I just hung up. So I left for college and my mother went to pick it up. They tried charging her $45 and my mother told them I had already paid $20 and I was told it would only $40. $5 isnt a big deal but its the fact that they were trying to get more money out of us when they were over a week late. My mother told them she would pay them the $20. They started talking back and fourth in another language leaving my mom standing there. They finally said ok $20. They then turned their backs on my mom so she left the money on the table and grabbed my skirt off the hanger herself. She then called to tell me what happened. I couldn't believe how awful their service was. Neither of us will ever come back here again and I don't recommend coming here if you want to be treated poorly. read more
