My server was excellent prompt and made sure everything was great. The wait wasn't long, they told me 45 min and was seated in less than 30. Food was very good and filling. I would not mind trying again. Wow! After a 45-minute wait, we were finally seated just after 1:00 PM on a Sunday. It was worth the wait. Service (Sherry?) was great. I really felt for our server as the three occupants at a table near us opted to sit and chat for almost an hour. They said they were protesting the long wait and didn't care that others were still waiting to be seated before the restaurant closed at 2:30 PM. This was sad. The restaurant must institute procedures to follow when this occurs. Let me say that the April special of Sweet Potato Soufflé Pancakes is all that and more. Since we were seated late in the day (for the restaurant), I was able to sneak in an order while another person at my table was only able to get one pancake. I ordered mine with pecans instead of raisins. The pancakes did not disappoint. Although they were a bit thin, they made me happy! My guess is the batter was low and the chef did what was necessary to squeeze out a few more. I am not complaining. However, should I return to the Triangle before month end, I will be sure to arrive early to enjoy more of these pancakes. My other sides were eggs and Apple Smoked Bacon. They were good but I was so happy with the pancakes that nothing else mattered. When you visit, be prepared to wait. Take-out was pretty swift. You drive up to the front, order from your vehicle, and wait not more than 15 minutes. I observed this as I waited for a table. We arrived at about 9am on a Sunday morning, the staff will not let you be seated unless you have the whole entire party there! This shouldn't be a problem but it's a little annoying when you have one person in your crew that's tardy for the party (as we did lol)! I went to Briggs today for breakfast in the pouring rain 3 parking spaces where open in front of business for pick up only. I was asked to move my car. I am also disabled. I got the french toast and got a side of over medium eggs and corned beef hash for take-out since I'm trying to stay away from crowds if possible. They were both good but overall I wasn't particularly impressed with the food itself. They did do a good job of handling curbside pickup and having spaces available as well as having masks on when confirming my order/getting my payment. It might've been just that and it seems like people also like the grits so maybe I'll give it a second chance and try that next time I'm in the area. I came to Brigs this past weekend after years and it was a great experience. It was NCCU's homecoming so it was a little busier than usual for a Sunday (which is still pretty busy!). My sister spilt my hot chocolate and after notifying her and asking for more napkins, without hesitation she had more napkins, a tray (to grab the used napkins), spray and a wash cloth to clean up the mess. I'm familiar with scrambles filling up the entire dish, so I was very surprised when it came in a small casserole dish. Nevertheless, it was still delicious. In fact, it allowed me to enjoy the scramble much more because each bite was packed with filling! The home fries are made of red potatoes and have a very mild kick to them, in a good way. Before we got to the door we were putting on our masks, by the time we got to the door we had them FULKY in place! I asked the guy at the door why this is required when we have to eat and can't do it with a mask! He went on a tirade! While the tables r cleared, the table was wiped but not the table ad thingy, the didn't wipe under the edge of the table where they diners put their fingers to put themselves up to the table. And they didn't wipe the backs of the chair, the ones who wipe their mouth & nose & eyes also touched the back of the chair to pull it out & push it back!! The food was ok but the omelet was undercooked & raw egg ran out on my plate (gross). The grits were floating n so much butter I couldn't eat more than a bite. Odd thing is, butter was floating but grits not hot enough to melt the huge piece of butter on top! A LOT of salt is used in the omelets, had to use a LOT of hot sauce to counter act the taste. We will not recommend this restaurant. When we go eat we want good hot food and no one raising their voice at me because I ask a question.! Kinda took my appetite! Finally tried this place a couple weeks ago for "brunch". It's less like an upbeat brunch spot and more like a diner-esque breakfast place that is known for reasonably priced good food. There aren't many places like this around so on a Sat late morning, it was crowded. However, the staff knows how to keep the seats available and get tables moving so the wait wasn't terribly long. I'll admit that a few items looked really good but based on my restrictions that day, I was limited in menu options. My friend got the waffle and said it was good and filling. I had the Seafood Scramble which should come with eggs scrambled with blue crab, shrimp, dill and cream cheese. Served with Hollandaise on the side. I omitted the shrimp and was surprised to see they doubled the crab meat when the order came. Had I known that, I would've asked for less because there was more crab than egg which made it very rich and too much to eat. And I LOVE crab meat but it was too overwhelming.
