I've always had pleasant experiences with BE, with both at the SF and Palo Alto locations. My most recent visit to the Palo Alto showroom was just as great. From the start, I was greeted by a kind and professional security staff member who kindly asked me to wait off to the side until an associate came out to meet me since I told him I had an appointment. While I waited, I browsed some of the selections on display. Their customer service with me was great! I worked with Connor and he was absolutely wonderful. At first, it seemed like he wasn't making much eye contact, as he was focused on his laptop, but I quickly realized he was actively taking notes on what I was saying, which I actually really appreciated. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate (especially about LOTR, so bonus points if you're a fan too!). Connor was also patient and supportive as my husband and I explored different options. We also asked about certain upgrades and warranty options, and Connor was completely transparent about everything. He clearly explained what was included, what could be added, and never made us feel pressured, just informed. That kind of honesty really stood out and made us feel confident in our decisions. While I ended up spotting something I loved in person, he also followed up with a detailed email containing additional selections based on our conversation. We scheduled a second appointment, where he had everything ready for us to compare and that's what ultimately helped me make my final decision. The final result? Absolutely perfect! I was in awe. It's unfortunate to see the negative reviews out there. But I know everyone's experience can vary, but I wish more people could see what BE has to offer when everything comes together as it did for me. read more

This is for my experiences with Grace. My fiancé and I had her for both our experiences - engagement ring shopping and wedding band shopping. Both experiences were wonderful and she always ended up showing me a ring that I loved. When I go to the appointments, I would have a ring in mind, Grace would always show me the one I had in mind first, then another she recommended based on my likes. Both times she was able to find rings I didn't see online and both rings were beautiful designs that I fell in love with. She was also very knowledgeable for my fiancé's rings and helped him choose options based on what he wanted too. I've worn my engagement ring for over a year and it is still beautiful with all the stone attached. The prices for the wedding bands were also good compared to all the other stores we have seen. Bought earrings and the pick up process needing an appointment, and having to wait, while the staff is talking in the back...c'mon seriously!?? My two girlfriends and I wanted to go ring shopping to see what kind of engagement rings we liked and wanted more general knowledge on diamonds and rings. We have been seeing brilliant earth ads for quite awhile now, and loved a lot of their online selections. This location was the closest one to us. We didnt make an appointment so we just walked into this retail store at Stanford mall. There was security at the door and maybe 1-2 other people in the store. There was this man who asked if we needed help and upon telling him what we were looking for, he was able to sit all 3 of us down for a little info session. We were the only ones in the store now. He told us all the rings in the store were cubic zirconia for security reasons... and then helped us get the correct ring size of our finger. He also brought out the different stone shapes and how big each carat would look on our finger. We could not see the real diamonds or other rings unless we made an appointment to go inside that sectioned off part of of the store, but we were able to browse the other ring selections that were on display. That is when it was obvious this man did not want to help us anymore. We wanted to try on and see the different rings on our fingers, and he said he could only pull out one at a time..... when his associate pulled out like 3-4 rings for this couple that had just came in. He still helped us though, so no problem. But then he did one thing that really pissed me off. There were two couples that were blocking a part of the display, and I asked him if there were any princess cut or radiant cuts over there that I could look at, and he straight up didn't even look over and said no we don't have any. TELL ME WHY I went over 5 minutes later to take a peek, there were two of those rings literally sitting pretty staring up at me. and bruh the the ring store isn't even that big, where he could have made a mistake. bro knew wtf he was doing. We left pretty soon after that. I asked my friends about it later, and they said he had a pretty cold and uninviting demeanor to them as well when he had sat us down to do ring and carat sizing. I don't remember his name but I think he was a middle aged skinny white man with brownish hair. It definitely seems like if you're not there to buy, he's not going to want to help you. read more

Waited a while until deciding on writing this review. The rating of this review is not a reflection of the staff, but on the processing & BOH operation of the company. It's our big milestone wedding anniversary so my husband wanted to get me a nice gift, we decided on a micro tennis bracelet bc it's been on my wishlist. Decided to go to Brilliant Earth bc I wanted a place with a storefront so I can actually try the jewelry on. We went to the Stanford Mall Palo Alto location. As mentioned, staff were friendly, super patient w/ our family with my 2 young kids playing around in the store. I must have at least asked to try on a couple different bracelets on and off at least 10 times and the associate (forgot name) was totally chill w/ me. It's an expensive purchase so I wanted to get it right. At the end, we finally decided on one & proceed w/ the purchase. At the time of purchase, the store was doing a promotion where if you spend $1k, you get a complimentary 1/4" tw diamond ear studs. Our purchase was a few dollars short but the associate said if we decide to tack on the warranty for an additional $119+, he will help us meet that threshold & get the studs as well. He told us bc they don't have the studs in stock, we would have to go pick it up at their SF location when ready. Check out took a long while, they took our infor down (email, phone number, home address). After we walked out, I forgot to ask what info we had to provide with SF location in order to pick up the earrings so I walked back into the store & another lady helped me. She said, let's just ship the earrings directly to my address so we don't have to worry about visiting another store. Great, perfect! She went to their back room to chat with the associate who previously helped us. They were gone for a good 10-15 minutes, when she came back out. She said bc their system takes a long while to process to acknowledge our recent order, she have to manually put in our information after the order shows up in their system. I once again left our home address & email address with them. (More on this later bc it turned out our free gift was not approved). Purchase was on Sunday; on Tuesday, we got an email saying we never provided an address for the earring delivery, we provided the same information again over email. On the same Tuesday, I wore my bracelet out for the first time & noticed one of the diamonds was gray like there's a little dark cloud inside. I thought maybe it was the angle of the light but no matter how I turn it around or spin around, it's just that one single diamond with a dark hue. We were recommended to bring it in for a cleaning. Since I was close to the SF location, I drop by without an appointment. There was a bit of a wait, but totally understandable. The associated helped me, saw the same thing with that one diamond. Brought it to the back for a cleaning & no improvement so he recommended me to just return this one since that diamond is defective & repurchase online. I basically have to do all the same things to get my earring promotions. All I had to do was leave my bracelet with them, sign the docusign to confirm I returned the bracelet & initiated the refund process. At this point, you think that's the end of the nightmare, NOPE! On the same night, I went online to repurchase the bracelet per description from the receipt & added the warranty to meet the spent requirement for the promotion. Come to find out warranty purchase is excluded from the eligible amount spent for the studs promo. I chatted w/ the online associate to explain the situation, he told me the original purchase was never approved for the earrings. My jaw dropped, but that explains why the group discussed for so long in the back room when they were discussing to ship the item to my house, why we received an email for the information we kept providing, it was all a big mess. As an apology for all the trouble, the online associate was nice enough to submit a request for a pair of silver studs w/ my purchase instead (not the diamond studs I was hoping for, but it's whatever at this point). I just purchase my bracelet and that was it. The bracelet arrived pretty quick, in a matter of days. First thought out of the box was the bracelet's diamonds look smaller, it felt tighter on my wrist. Since I already dropped off my bracelet, I had nothing to compare to so I just let it go. But when I wore it, the bracelet kept flipping around to the non-diamond side which prompts me to think if the bracelet is too tight on my wrist. Could the original was actually a 7" bracelet and not the 6.5" that was written on the receipt? So once again, on Sunday, we stopped by Palo Alto's storefront & told them my issues w/ the bracelet. They said the one that I tried on at display was 6.5" so I decided to keep mine to see if it'll get better. No more room, I have to save our refund nightmare to ourselves. I've read the mixed reviews prior to making an appointment to check out their showroom and I'm glad I didn't let them deter me from seeing Brilliant Earth in person. Palo Alto has the closest location to me so this is where I made my appointment and it was easy to do so online. I believe they also accept walk-ins, but it depends on the busy level / you may not get that 1:1 attention you desire without an appointment. They have security here who lets you into the store and he was very friendly and helpful. Once you let him know if you're either there with an appointment or not then he'll inform the staff to help you. I won't give too much spoilers in case those who I'm related to reads this review, but Emily helped with the initial showroom walkthrough and selection process and Gabriel helped finish the process when I came back a couple weeks later to pick up my order. Both gave exceptional service and not once did they make me feel rushed or out of place. I am thankful to say that my Brilliant Earth process was a good one and I'd be open to coming back should I need anything else. read more

I had high hopes for Brilliant Earth! I scheduled an appointment to look at engagement rings for the first time on my own and was so excited! I arrived for my appointment and was told by the employee that she would have another employee "shadow" for my appointment. Once we started the process of looking at rings it was apparent that the employee was in training, which was okay. The customer service was great and the girls were very nice. I just wish that the process was explained of how they help you look at rings and they had a complete ring (not loose diamonds) that I was interested in purchasing to try on. I let them know this was my first time shopping for a ring several times. As a first timer shopping for a very important purchase I really wished I felt better taken care of. Feeling discouraged after leaving I went to another well known jeweler (Shane Co.) the next day and had the experience I was hoping for. I couldn't be happier! I had no appointment and I was able to try on complete rings so I can actually see what the exact ring would look like on my finger! read more

Let's start off with GREAT customer service. Me and my partner went in to get a special ring for myself. We came in as walk in and weren't able to see diamonds because we needed an appointment, at the time I understood and didn't mind so regardless we made an appointment. A few WEEKs later we go to our appointment and again customer service was great. But when it came to the diamonds they brought in 3... Just different shapes that's it. We disliked all three. Then proceeded to show us the computer... something I could have done from home. What's the point of the appointment if they can't go to the back and grab more diamonds one based on my likings. Waste of time. My partner feeling extremely distasteful from the companies policies. Such as immediately letting us know ring insurance, and how there's a small manufacturers warranty on it. Also when trying on the rings they were uncomfortable. Please note I wear fine ring jewelry all the time so this was different odd. The quality seemed really off as well. Also selection was extremely small. I was warned about this company but it's always feels like rumors till one experience it. We decided to go to our trusty SHANE CO that same day. We walked in and within a few minutes we got to see everything, including a plethora of diamonds till we found the right one. Moral of the story: Expensive Pandora If you are a person looking for an engagement ring and have no prior knowledge of jewelry. Please do not come here, it will make you feel more nervous and scared. If you want a cute small thing this is a great place. There wedding bands are adorable. But if you have a lot of connections to your jewelry and don't want to get ring insurance this isn't your place. read more

I walked into a store that was incredibly busy with a long line of invisible customers. With no customers inside, I assumed I might receive assistance, or at minimum be allowed to look at the gems I was explicitly interested in purchasing. Instead, I was informed that viewing them required an appointment. I didn't realize browsing jewelry now required the same level of planning as scheduling a surgical consultation. I made it very clear that I was ready and interested in buying, which seemed to be treated less like an opportunity and more like an inconvenience. It was fascinating to watch a luxury retail environment operate with the quiet confidence of a business that apparently has no interest in selling luxury goods. From what I could see at a respectful, carefully maintained distance, the selection looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer experience appears to be curated around ensuring that admiration remains theoretical. I fully understand exclusivity as part of high-end retail. However, most luxury brands pair exclusivity with service. This felt more like exclusivity paired with indifference. I left genuinely impressed -- not by the jewelry, which I was not allowed to properly see -- but by a business model that successfully discourages motivated buyers while the store is completely vacant. That level of commitment to the concept is honestly remarkable. If you enjoy making appointments to potentially be allowed to shop, this may be your place. DO NOT BUY. Within a few hours of wearing my brilliant earth Versailles engagement ring, one of the side diamonds had already fallen out. All I did was go out to dinner. Another one fell out 2 weeks later. I had not damaged the ring in ANY way. I have a desk job. After sending for repair and waiting weeks to get it back, hoping they had made the ring stronger this time, the same exact stone just came out AGAIN while I was doing laundry. Avoid all BE rings at all costs if you want to actually wear it without losing stones on a weekly basis. This is a very common problem with their rings, if you do a google search you will find out. Customer service was terrible from day one as well. My fiancé and I were moving internationally and were promised to get the ring by a certain date, had even paid extra for rush delivery. That did not happen and we were not refunded either. I had to follow up with them every single day in the two weeks prior to delivery and not a single person followed through with what they promised. I spent HOURS on the phone with them and that was the only reason I was lucky enough to get the ring the day prior to leaving the country. Their rings look beautiful and are very affordable, and I hoped that people were just exaggerating in other negative reviews, but this is not the case. It's not worth the money. What a terrible experience throughout. I do not recommend that you purchase any jewelry from this storefront or from Brilliant Earth in general. I booked a private appointment with my husband for March 6, 2025. We were looking at stackable bands to go with my engagement ring for our upcoming 10th wedding anniversary. We were assisted by Connor. Before our appointment began, I told Connor that I was looking for a particular style of ring to fit the pear-shaped diamond on my engagement ring. At no time was I told that Brilliant Earth could not customize/modify their jewelry to fit a non-Brilliant Earth piece. During our appointment, I found Connor to be distracted. Rather than engage with my husband and I, he was focused more on his laptop. I felt like we were an inconvenience to him. When scheduling the appointment, I had selected several styles I wanted to look at. Those were forgotten and only brought out halfway through the appointment. Despite the above, I selected three stackable bands. My husband and I ordered the bands with Connor. Again, no mention that Brilliant Earth could not customize/modify their jewelry to fit a non-Brilliant Earth piece. We waited three weeks for the bands to arrive. We opted to pick them up at the store so if there were any issues, they could be resolved right away. Connor again assisted us. As luck would have it, the two rings I selected to stack above and below my engagement ring, did not fit properly with the pear-shaped stone. My husband and I mentioned this to Connor, who suggested we send them back to Brilliant Earth for re-sizing. Connor then proceeded to measure the pear-shaped stone on my engagement ring, so the two stackable rings would fit correctly. Connor claimed to have uploaded the measurements to the service request. I was told that a service representative may reach out to me to discuss the repairs/modifications needed. I was contacted by Brilliant Earth the following week requesting an appointment with a service representative. I spoke to the service representative on April 11, 2025. During my telephone call with the service representative, I learned that not only did Connor NOT provide details or measurements for the modification, I learned, only then, that Brilliant Earth DOES NOT customize or modify their jewelry to fit non-Brilliant Earth pieces. I was then told that the salesperson (Connor) should have been aware of Brilliant Earth's policy regarding customization. The customer service representative then went on to tell me that it sounded like there was a training issue that she would bring to the attention of the store manager. I was also informed that if I had the rings modified/customized and they did not fit my engagement ring, I would no longer be able to return the rings. I then requested a refund. I was informed I would receive a refund in 5 to 7 business days. I called customer service on April 25, 2025 to inquire about my refund and was told "its pending" and that they could not provide me with any details, only a manager could. I asked to speak with a manager so I could get clarity. I was told there was no manager available, and I would receive a call back within 24 to 48 hours. I NEVER received a call from a manager to discuss the refund, or the above-mentioned issues. After waiting another week to receive our refund, it was finally deposited into my account, today, May 2, 2025, THREE weeks after returning the jewelry pieces. Overall, I am completely disappointed by this experience. My husband and I were misled by Connor, and I feel like we were treated more as a commission opportunity than anything. If you are looking to purchase jewelry, re-think your decision to purchase any items from this business. read more

The appointments here are usually several weeks out so if you should plan enough time before your wedding date. Once you're in the showroom there's a good variety of rings to look at. They won't have the full catalogue from the site but there's at least a good 30+ options for wedding bands to consider. The associates there were super helpful and knowledgeable in finding options that matched the engagement ring I had. Additionally, there was a lot of help really narrowing down the options. I've received so many ads for this place I decided to stop by to check out their engagement rings since I'm in the market. I made an appt in advance and was able to add my preferences beforehand. When I arrived, I checked in and waited for my sales associate to greet me. I was escorted to another room to view the showroom rings. While they had a diverse amount of styles and looks to choose from, it was really weird that all the showroom rings looked tarnished. I asked if that's what it'll look like after wear and tear and the associate told me they never polish their showroom rings which I found to be a red flag if they couldn't even show the quality of the rings to people looking to buy. Also their diamonds really lacked the brilliance/shine to them that I've seen at other places. Their warranty policies seemed a little off, like you would have to pay ~15% of the total cost of your ring and it doesn't even cover everything. And if you wanted to see a specific ring they made you put down a 50% deposit.. Although our associate was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to learning about diamonds, I just didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling I'd expect to feel when looking for an engagement ring. Overall I just wasn't wowed by my experience enough to want to come back. read more

The process of buying a ring here needs work. 1. You need an appointment 2. That appointment is 50 minutes max, enforced by the store 3. They only show you 3 diamonds maximum per appointment. I imagine this is all to prevent theft (I don't blame them for being careful in these times because theft is out of control) but this results in a really inefficient buying process because if you don't know what shape or size you want, it's hard to do a comparison. Every other jewelry store out there showed us exactly what we wanted to see if they had it in stock, and provided several options to compare against. Here we were about to do a 3rd visit (1st was unscheduled and they would only show cubic zirconia, 2nd was scheduled where they showed 3 diamonds with a hard cap time limit of 50 minutes, at which point they scheduled us for a 3rd visit), but we canceled as it was too much hassle and time wasted doing multiple visits. The 3 stars is for the friendly staff who I'm sure are doing their best, but the company policies are not conducive to a good customer experience. Shop elsewhere. read more

The Los Altos store security guard just made sure I never spend a dime with Brilliant Earth. I called the company customer care line in advance and asked about stock of a particular item. I was told they had it and I could go view it at this store. When I arrived the security guard stopped me and asked if I had an appointment. Customer care had already told me I didn't need one so I told him I did not. At this point I was stood at the doorway of a completely empty store with four staff stood around doing nothing. The guard said a weird "No, but..." and continued to stand in my way. I asked if I could look at the jewelry and his reply was "Well you're already inside the door". The staff ignored me and this interaction and continued to look at their phones until I asked one for assistance. Her first words were to incorrectly tell me that they didn't have what I was looking for. Then she told me that I was using the term "huggie earring" incorrectly. I had to call up the earrings on their own site to show her that I was calling them what their company calls them. We ended up having a constructive and friendly interaction but by that time I had zero intention of buying from them. What an absolute joke of a store. read more

I came in for a consultation with my partner for an engagement ring. I made I clear that this was our first consultation ever and that I knew absolutely nothing about rings and diamonds. However, the male employee working with us made it a point to make me feel like an idiot. Whenever I asked questions that seemed to him were silly questions, he would stare at me for a few seconds too long, audibly sigh, then answer. He did this not once, but multiple times (I lost track after the fifth time) and by the end of the appointment I just felt belittled and uncomfortable. At one point he even rolled his eyes. I have been in the market for diamond jewelry, and so I stopped by to looking into some of their lab grown pieces. I stood there for 5 minutes without so much as a glance in my direction. A worker even went on lunch right in front of me, announcing it to his other coworker. Finally, a few minutes after a saleswoman was done with another guest, she asked if she could help me with anything. I say yes. To which she seemed utterly annoyed and walked away, telling me to give her "a minute." Not what I expect from a jewelry store. Friendly and Knowledgeable associates. You have to make an appointment to visit BE showroom. They had a bunch of fake rocks on different engagement bands to try on for size and styles. We learned a lot about diamonds, the 4Cs and the settings. I keep changing my mind on the ring that I'll need at least 2 more appointments to decide on the ring. It's always good to purchase engagement ring and wedding band at the same time so u know the ring styles goes together. I can only speak to my experience, which was wholly outstanding, solely based on my experience working with Grace during our scheduled appointment. She was well-prepared, deeply knowledgeable, and exceptionally patient with me and my ponderous mind. She allowed our conversation to breathe, while also maintaining a forward momentum to ensure that we covered all the bases in the time allotted. Had I more time, I likely would have scheduled a second appointment, but the beauty of the rings, coupled with Grace's non-pushy and frankly delightful energy, gave me the confidence to move forward and make my purchase that night. My fiancé and I went to pick out our wedding bands and were helped by David who was EXTREMELY patient with me as I tried on 12+ rings.
