I had the pleasure of visiting Brinkley's for the first time for a drink at the bar. The bartender was very nice and promptly attended to us serving up delicious drinks as we mused the Small Bites menu. We'd eaten dinner earlier in the day but decided to try the Beef & Pork Ricotta Meatballs which were 2 huge meatballs that were absolutely delicious and satisfied the 3 of us who shared them. As we walked inside, the host never even looked up to greet us. we stood there awkwardly for a while and then just proceeded to the bar to get a drink and appetizer. The bartender woman was very unhappy that we sat at the bar, it felt as if we interrupted everyone from their busy work and that they couldn't be bothered. So we ended up just leaving because it was so stuffy and uncomfortable. We did not order anything so I can not complain about the food. This place was amazing ! A little pricey but you get everything you pay for, great ambiance and food was absolutely delish. The prime mignon was great , as well as their 4 cheese mac and cheese and burger. Lastly the dessert menu had great options including a Banana SPLIT! recently went to brinkleys chophouse to try out their new menu options, and i am obsessed! for my starter i got the lamp lollipop chops, which comes with whipped goat cheese and jalapeño. TO DIE FOR!! for my entree i got the Diver Scallops. they came with a peach/bourbon purée polenta, pressed pork belly and pickled peaches. the dish was incredibly put together, and all of the flavors meshed perfectly. will be back for that. dessert, my favorite part: white chocolate & cappuccino bread pudding with vanilla ice cream & an espresso syrup. heaven in my mouth. 10/10 recommend Brinkelys Chophouse for all occasions! cannot wait to come back & try more! read more

We've been several times when it has been a good experience, but last night flopped. We have sampled many things from the menu over our visits, from the Tomahawk to the NZ lamb, the filet, and the salmon. All have been delicious. However, when I asked about my absolute favorite dish that has gone away, the poulet rouge that had been on the menu in the past, the waitress gave me an odd look like I was crazy for asking as she had no idea what that was, and then she proceeded to point to the menu and say "that's our new chicken setup". I liked the former dish for its pesto, unique rustic gnocchi, with the greens and beans. She shrugged at me when I explained the dish I was asking about. When my husband asked if they could possibly make something similar to the dish, the waitress seemed put-off by the question and replied "no, we can't do that" without even asking kitchen staff. Now, I understand it is not a special order restaurant, but it was just a politely asked question and not outlandish. Plenty of restaurants are capable of whipping up an old dish off the menu. Anyway, all in all, last night was a lack luster experience from waiting for a while to have a waiter come to the table in the first place, to her nonchalant service, and then the scallop dish was "meh". I'm a little bummed. Augusta really needs more restaurants with good food, minus the hype. Just disappointed when an average $300 experience is just that ...average. OH!! Edited to add: I ordered an extra side -- Brussels sprouts-- and they NEVER arrived!! Now that I think of it, waitress was pretty bad. Not sure we will go back. read more

So we reviewed the private dining area. Never do it. All the steaks had to be cooked the same way. Paid $75 for a steak and couldn't get it cooked my way. The food wasn't great. Also there is a 2k requirement which doesn't include drinks which we were aware. When we hadn't meet the minimum someone should have brought that to our attention before getting our receipt. If we would have known we could have ordered more to take home instead of fatting someone else pocket. Didn't know the menu would be pre-selected. Older individuals would have liked a salad and bake potato with their steak. It's hard dividing a receipt up for 23 different people. They also charge a 3% fee to use a credit charge. We had a Friday night reservation- arrived on time and were seated immediately. I was worried from some of the photos that it might be too bright inside, but that wasn't the case. The room is cozy and we kind of felt like we could have been in a major city instead of little old North Augusta ;) We ordered our wine and a couple of starters. The Peaches and Cream was a good portion for our party of 4 to share. Very tasty except the balance was off. More peaches could have helped with the saltiness of the other ingredients. We ordered one of the butcher boards and everything was cooked well and tasted great. Lobster tails were small so they gave extra which was appreciated. For dessert we had cheesecake with berries- a nice ending to the meal. The only reason I'm giving 4 starts and not 5 is because of the service. It was fine but we felt rushed at times. Trying to clear our appetizer when we still had a third of it left on the platter, asking multiple times in a short period of time if we were ready to order. What a great place! I love all the restaurants down by SRP Park and knew I had to give this place a try. We wandered in on a Saturday night and while there is no dress code, I would say we were under dresses for such a nice place. But the servers could not have been nicer. We had two small kids and they offered us either of two tables and were so kind and helpful. They were out of the wagyu so I ordered the 6 Oz sirloin medium rare with the brussel sprouts on the side. My husband ordered a shoulder strip and both kids got macaroni and cheese. The steak was easily one of the best I've ever had. Easily. My kids loved their Mac and cheese and my husband raved about his food as well. Such a gem - having walked in with two little kids and wearing a t-shirt and shorts I would probably recommend dressing a *little* nicer but again, they were very accommodating. Also it poured on us as we were leaving and although we didn't use the valet service, they were so kind to walk me to my car with an umbrella while I carried a kid. read more

We live nearby, so we've been eagerly awaiting its opening and thought a nice, quiet, Sunday brunch would be a good start. Boy were WE disappointed! To be fair, though, this one-star review has nothing to do with the food, which we didn't even stay to try. As soon as I opened the front door I was blasted by the extremely loud music of a live folk singer --- I could barely hear the hostess! It's really something I'd expect to hear next door at Southbound Smokehouse, not at a restaurant that evidently aspires to be an upscale dining experience. Definitely not that, at least not for Sunday brunch. If they must provide live music, something more gentle would a better choice. I'm only glad we were early for our reservation and found out about it before we were served. Otherwise, it would have been a VERY unpleasant dining experience. The first time we went we did not like it. However we decided to give it a second chance because sometimes it's a bad night. Just the same and we will not be back. Good didn't come out correctly, steak was not cooked right, asked for bread and never got it. Asked if I wanted another drink, but didn't fix it for like 10 minutes and we were sitting at the bar. I joined the waitlist online before coming just in case there was a wait. The guy at the hostess stand acted like he had no idea what to do and despite there literally being 60% open tables he said we would need to sit at the bar. We asked if there was a table and he finally showed us one that was basically on top of the table next to it and said there was a reservation at 730 so if we sat there we would need to be gone by then. Just terrible and for a restaurant this expensive you expect more. Go to Frog Hollow instead. They know how to run a restaurant read more

We went to Brinkley's Chop House on the Saturday before Masters week. To start, they clearly communicated that they were a new steakhouse on the venue and were trying to draw business. The place was packed! I want to start by talking about the attire. I was expecting a business casual attire for such a pricey steakhouse but there were folks who just got off the golf course (not pros...trust me!) that showed up with untucked golf shirts and backwards ball caps and sandals. Very disrespectful. Mind you, we spent just short of $1,000 on our bill!! Not that they were a nuisance, but kinda killed the "special night affect". That said, the food was awesome. They probably have the best bartender ever! I asked for a side car (not on menu) and he killed it! I wish I remembered his name but he was awesome! We ordered the butcher board for four for our main course and it was incredible. They have the service and food down pat, but need to force the attire issue a bit. read more

This restaurant looks amazing but looks can be deceiving. We arrived at 8:15 (our reservation time) and was greeted by the hostess who said they were cleaning the table. We were seated 20 minutes later. We didn't get our food until 10:12. No one complained We merely asked how much longer? No apology and when we inquired about our food, the manager tried to gaslight us by calling our party aggressive (typical Karen move). Everyone at the table had multiple degrees and exhibited consomate professionalism the entire night. We spent over $700 and the waitress (who did nothing) never refilled a glass got $120 tip.The owner contacted us the next day and offered our money back (which we declined). Contrary to popular belief we don't want your money, we want great customer service and to be treated with respect in your establishment. read more

This place was ok. Not bad, but not great. Food was certainly better than Outback, but nowhere near Ruth's Chris or Perry's. Yet, the prices are on par with both those places. Mussels appetizer was delicious. My steak was cooked medium rare like I asked, but didn't seem like they seasoned it at all. Their Brussel sprouts were excellent. Friend got the pork chop which was good except they ruined it by putting this god awful BBQ sauce on it. It tasted like Kraft brand sauce you'd get for $2.50 at Wal Mart. Service was lacking. Another friend ordered the tomahawk ribeye. Our whole table confirmed with the waiter (twice!) that my friend did not want it sliced up. He wanted the steak whole. Guy said no problem. Steak comes out sliced up. He did apologize, but c'mon we reminded you more than once. Our table ordered a 2nd round of drinks when our food arrived and we didn't get them until after we were done eating. Which was about 40 minutes. Waiter said that a large group had ordered 14 martinis right before he put in our 2nd drink order. That's really not our problem. Get another bartender. Seemed like a fancy steakhouse with the usual amateur hour bartending and wait staff that is quite prevalent in the CSRA. Ok, but not worth the price at all. read more

First we were passing through on our drive back from GA. Let me tell you not only the service was great but from drinks, appetizer and our dinner was made to our perfection. I don't know who wrote that they saw cockroaches I did not see one dumping or bug on site. You can tell management keeps the place clean. Heck I would hire them to clean my house and be my personal cooks. In all this place is a great night out and if you have a problem let the owner know. WOW! Didn't think it could have gotten better than last time, but I was wrong! Staff rcalled us from last time with very specific detail. We couldn't have had a warmer welcome. My wife started with the Mac & cheese fritter appetizer w/ pork belly and grilled tomato . The bacon and pork belly flavors were stupendous, and the portion could have been a dinner unto itself. She had the N.Y. strip as an entree, beautiful cut of beef! I had a Caesar salad to start and easily coulve called that a meal as well. I love the soft boiled egg, it gives it such a creamy egg flavor. I follwed that with the special, seared ahi tuna with blackened, herbed lamb meatballs. An unusual pairing to be sure. Served with thick orange slices, apricots and an Almond puree' like I've not had before. When you tasted it the palate says " meh" and about 5 seconds later almond flavor explodes in your mouth!
