I have had brinks for a long time and I don't know why ,they screw up my bill don't provide any cameras or app service . My equipment is as old as dinosaurs . They never offer any upgrades or check . They are only open until 5 on the east coast and I'm on the west.They transferred me and then it hung up because it was past 5 o'clock . I can't get on to the web to pay my bills and I was paying my bill but they said I didn't pay for July and keep charging me late fees.not a good service. read more

They are incompetent and liars. Please see also my review on Spectrum; their faulty installation included disconnecting my alarm system. I didn't realize it at the time, but when the amber light on the alarm control panel was beeping, I had no idea it was caused by the Spectrum installer not re hooking up my alarm to the phone line. I called Brinks (formerly Monitronics) to find out why the notification alarm was going off. The rep who came out, told me that my panel was outdated, that my system hadn't been working for years and I needed to update it, at about $10 more a month. He said my system was so old it wasn't compatible with the new phone systems. It hadn't been working since 2015!! When he left I thought, if my alarm system hasn't been working in all these years, why was Monitronics/Brinks taking my yearly fee for service???? Clue for readers: Brinks guy kept telling me how honest he was! Not so. Meanwhile, I called Spectrum because the original Spectrum installer hooked my fax to the router and not the wall jack and a repairman came out; said the alarm wasn't hook up correctly either; he fixed it. I had Protect America since 2017, no issues with the system or the customer service. Brinks took over Protect America and it went South rather quickly. I had a few bad experiences with customer service and decided to cancel and change sec companies. I called Brinks Home Security June 8, 2022 and went through customer service, explained I wanted to cancel service was transferred to Account Manager, Kylee, I spoke to Kylee who said she would send the DocuSign docs that day to confirm cancellation and get a refund going on my credit balance of over $180.00. Junw10, 2022, I called Customer Service again and explained I cancelled June 8th and that I had not received any DocuSign for cinfi of the cancellatio, I was transferred to Alex, Account Manager, Agent ID 70701 and I explained what I was calling about, Alex indicated that I would not have been told the confirmation would be sent that quickly as it will take up to 7 business days . Alex's tone was very condescending, rude, unprofessional, he insisted that I was advised the docusign would take up to 7 business days. I asked to be transferred to his supervisor or manager. Alex continued talking over me, refused to transfer the call to a supervisor or manager. i advised Alex I no longer wanted to deal with him and demand to speak to a supervisor or manager. Alex placed me on hold for about 5 minutes and then came back on to advise me the supervisor recommend Alex resend the email with the cancellation confirmation, however, according to Alex the supervisor would NOT take the call. I asked Alex if the call is recorded to which he replied" there is no guarantee your call will be recorded". I replied I hope it is so your managers can see how poorly you handle customers. Called to cancel our contract - should be simple right? Well, as I type this, we have been on the phone for 2 1/2 hours - bounced around from one person to another, nobody who can cancel the contract. Most of the time, listening to on hold music. My experience with Brinks began around May of 2015 when a Monitronics sales guy came to my Dental Practice in Sanger, Texas. I got free equipment (not really free leased) at my office and over 3000 dollars worth of equipment purchased for my home including garage and a large shop. They were complete with 2GiG panels and wifi controlled lighting and door locks. We quickly became frustrated as the techs were not able to actually link the hundreds of items as we lived in the country and had really bad wifi. So after making a deal with a company called Speed of Light Broadband. I made a deal for 179.00 a month they would give me unlimited best they had. I ended up hiring an off duty ADT guy who was a patient of mine to come out and reconfigure the whole house. We even had heat sensors in our attic. Problem solved. Fast forward to 2018, when we added on to our house. We believed that we were month to month with Monitronics/Alarm.com which had changed it's brand to MONI. Same company new brand woooohooo. We were not in a 36month deal apparently someone had reupped us for 3 more years. Something I and my wife would definitely not do, as we were secretly planning on relocating to the coast of Texas and selling our practices. When asked for the contract we signed we received a sheet of paper with a scribble on the page, and when I asked them about the phone conversations could they produce the tapes of when we said yes Renew for 3 more years. We got busy and never continued to fight it. Sold my practice on Sept 13, 2019 close date. Had negotiated for the new owner to continue using the now BRINKS instead of MONI monitoring at the office. At our home my wife got on the phone and proceeded to try and pay off our contract which was in the few thousands of dollars and she was transferred on the phone to a Customer Retention Manager after several calls and literally hours on the phone. On this call, we agreed to pay 1400.00 which was paid on our credit card and if we sent 3 pieces of equipment back to them they would not charge us another 1400.00. Several weeks later we received a bill for 1400.00 from Brinks. We were also being charged on our personal checking account for the monitoring of a home we did not own any longer. It took about 3 months of calls to get them to stop that and no money was ever returned as they said they did indeed monitor the house during that time. Oh well. During the call the people kept trying to get us to pay for the equipment to "close" the account. We had sent the equipment back and it was signed for by a Brinks employee. Thank God for FEDEX. After living on the coast for several months and numerous phone calls to them during COVID. They continued to say that the Manager we spoke to, was not AUTHORIZED to make a deal. Weird. We found the managers name and sought him out and he was still working for the company but planning to leave. He said yes he indeed had approval for that deal and that he made deals like that 'all day long'. We escalated all the way to a VP with Brinks who assured us that he would have the charge removed from our record and close the account officially after he had a chance to "pull the tapes and listen to the transaction." He would contact us if he felt that we owed the money, and took our phone numbers, email addresses and great deal of information. If he didn't contact us, rest assured the situation would be handled. YAYYYYYYY! Fast forward to January of 22. While trying to purchase a new home, we were asked to take care of the Collections from Brinks. Two days later I started receiving text messages, and phone calls from MOUNTAIN RUN SOLUTIONS. Apparently they had purchase my now 1500.00 bill from Brinks. I wrote them a long explanation and told them I would not be paying them for this debt because we did not owe it and that we had already been through all of this for months. So after about 4 months in 2022, I found online CREDIT GLORY and paid for their service to remove the information from my credit report. I was attempting to expand an office and would need to borrow money. Credit Glory was 299.00 up front and although I have Experian/Free Credit Report since day one, I would have to pay for a company called IdentityIQ? 19.99/month for the 3 months I would need CREDIT GLORY. The 3 months turned into 99/mo until December of 2022 when I noticed I was still paying for both. So I cancelled it was easy and they were a great company, although there is one problem. The second they quit sending the monthly disputes MOUNTAIN RUN SOLUTIONS puts the junk back on my credit so I am out almost the amount that I fraudulently was being extorted from Brinks. What is sad was I was a great customer and they are so greedy that they still attempted to mess with me and it is still a problem today in 2023. Not sure what Newsweek was basing this on but my experience with them is that they are a terrible company with the worst customer service ever. Good luck with this company there customer service is the worst I've one across. They never follow through with the email or the snail mail I requested, so I could discontinue the service. I wanted to pay the final bill they originally told me was cleared and then told me I needed to pay which also included a late fee!! I have never to this date received a bill. They keep shutting off my service every week for non payment and I don't owe them anything except a monthly payment of $37. They are seriously the worse company out there. We've been using them for several years now -- first under contract and now month-to-month -- and Brinks is the worst security provider imaginable. They have terrible customer service (if you can reach them at all) and utterly incompetent technical support when you need help with your system. Adding insult to injury, Brinks kept raising our monthly monitoring fee until it was 150% of our original price. And of course when we DID have an alarm, the monitoring service was about the rudest and most obnoxious you could imagine. It's been a really bad experience. read more

I cannot recommend Brinks. Business practices are questionable and they don't honor their word. Since 23 November my cameras are offline, but Brinks never contacted me. After installation, I contacted them because I didn't feel comfortable. They denied to remove the system and cancel my contract, unless I paid. They hung up on me twice and were unfriendly. I talked with a Richard, who never called me back. All they do is lie and deceive. Be careful and don't accept their sales men at all. Brinks is the worse. First off your stuck with a three year contract that you cant get out of. The equipment is dated and doesn't work half of the time. Every time you do anything it extends your contract. My doorbell takes forever to see anything( the person is usually gone before I see anything. Last year in June, my roommate passed away, leaving me to change all the bills into my name. Every month since then, I have been attempting to receive email notifications that my bills are ready to pay with zero success. I have spoken with 4 customer service representatives, 2 supervisors ... and have even written a letter to their headquarters in Texas. All assured me the matter "would be taken care of". It is now almost one year later and I have yet to receive the aforementioned email notification. Apparently they do not listen to their customers and could care less about the service(s) they are providing. No wonder they're the least expensive alarm monitoring company; their attitude shows it. When my contract expires, I will definitely NOT be renewing with Brinks, instead choosing to pay a more expensive monthly billing to another company. read more

Worst service ever!!!! Will never use them again. I was their client for over 13 years. We replace a new system with them 3 years ago, and the screen went blank/black. Call CS, they said we need a NEW screen/modem...remind you, this was just replaced 3 years ago. So, we decide to switch to a more up todate system with another company, Simply Safe. Much more affordable as well. Instead of $38/mo, contract , we only pay $19/month and no contract. Plus it comes camera! Excited to use their service. Anyway, try cancelling with them in Feb. They stated it was taken care of. Our service was stopped, but yet, they continue to withdrawal from our account the monthly payment, for the next 2 months. I had to call my bank to block them from any further with drawls. Then I call Brinks. After 4 attempt to get me the cancellation dept (ph#844-381-2351), they said they were waiting to get my cancellation "signature", before they can do anything. SCAMED!!! NEVER again! read more

When my mother passed away she had a Brinks system and in order to keep the monitoring on as we tried to sell the house, we transferred the service into our names. 4 months later when the house sold, we were told the transfer agreement had 32 more months on it and we were locked into paying it. We were a customer for over 25 years. We had not used our system for over 15 years. It was not even working! I called them to get an update and they wanted to charge us over $2000 to upgrade. I called Vivint and changed over to them as they were very reasonable. I called Brinks as soon as Vivint left to cancel the alarm service that was not even functioning for over 10 years. They said that we had to cancel in writing and that they would send me an email. The email never arrived. So now they have sent me to a collection agency (after multiple phone calls on my part) for $167. Yes, they are criminals and bullies. We went to Vivint and are very happy. The collection agency that Brinks sent us to are full of the rudest people that I have ever met. read more

They try to give you this "great deals" when you attempt to cancel, and then they never follow through--never happens. We have 22 months left to pay on a security alarm system that does not work. Once you sign the contract there is no way to get out of it. Brinks, through a third party, sends a technician that cannot find any problems - Of course they charge extra for all service calls. The problems we have are that the alarm sounds all hours when the system is inactive. And when the alarm sounds it indicates the wrong location. Lastly, they are impossible to contact by phone. If you get lucky and get through, the person you talk with cannot help you or they will transfer you to another person and the line disconnects after a half hour wait. I NEVER write reviews but I just have to warn others do not sign up with this company !!! They have the worst customer service. My 2-year contract expired 6 months ago and every time I have tried to cancel they say I am still under contract. I called someone to email over my current contract and what do you know, my contract expired. When I reached out to someone to cancel they said I am still under contract for another year and that my only option is to pay the full remaining balance of 500$. On top of that, I was double-charged for August, so when I spoke with customer service they told me that I didn't pay for the month of June, I have a transaction for the month of June and yet she continued to tell me that they didn't charge me so I need to take that up with the bank it's "not their problem". We were transferred to Brinkshome when AT&T Digital Life at the beginning of the year. Our installation was delayed 5 times before it finally was installed on February 23. Unfortunately, the installation was not done properly and the system failed shortly after that while we were out of the country for two weeks. It took hours on the phone to schedule a technician to repair and were not able to get scheduled until May 3. We were assured everything was ok and we left the country again for another two weeks. The system failed again with the same problem. After spending several more hours on the phone we were scheduled again for June 8. On June 7, we received a call that our repair appointment was cancelled. I had taken the day off work to be there on June 8. Many more hours on the phone and extreme frustration, led me to supervisor. I was told there was nothing they could do and they refused my request for a quick appointment or financial compensation. The supervisor promised me that someone would call me with a new date. Over a week has gone by and no call has been received. I have no idea whether or not I am on a schedule. Bottom line is that I have not had a working alarm system since January. Brinks has failed to provide the service specified in our contract and the customer service has been non-effective and frustrating. Buyer beware... This is the worst security company you can get. When you want to cancel their service they trick you into continuing so they can continue to charge you. First they tell you ok your service is cancelled and no further charges te due. Then you check your bank account the following month and surprise surprise another monthly charge so we called and they said you have to cancel online as well and the cancellation takes 30 days so if you call them and cancel online they can still charge you the following month even though they already cancelled the service. I can't stress this enough to never contract this company we were stuck with them for two years read more
