Well, as a 3 Star says; A-Ok. And it was A-Ok. But went to a 2 Stars... read on. Ate lunch there Thursday at about 1:00 pm. The hostess was very professional and friendly. I sat at the bar. The bartender (no introduction so no name) was very pleasant and friendly. I ordered on her suggestion, the Briar and Bramble Burger ($14.95), MR with fries well done. And a Pepsi, which never ran dry, great job. The food came out promptly and as I had ordered. The burger was delicious, the fries well done and very good. Ok... Ok... Why not 5 Stars? But first... :( I was in the food and beverage industry for 40 years; server, bartender, trainer, captain, Australia, Maui, opened four restaurants, blah, blah, blah. Ok... The review... :) The burger/fries were NOT worth $14.95. Period. Small portion of fries and the burger was on the small side; think Jack's ciabatta bacon burger. In fact, no really, this burger was on a ciabatta bun. I swear. So, delicious but way over priced. And now, why 3 Stars to 2. Have I told you my life's story?? Ok, another time. I had a server ask the cook how many ounces of ground chuck was in the burgers, nobody else seemed to know. He said 8 oz.. Sorry, no way. The meat did not outsize the bun and was less than a 1/2 inch thick; MR. I'm thinking about 5 oz. (think quarter pounder). So minus 1 Star for BS. If you only go dining once in a great while and looking for something good, eat here. If you're looking for a place to go regularly and have money to retire with, go elsewhere. Side note. In a bar, if a person sits at the bar, they are looking to interact and for conversation. Otherwise they would sit at a table. I have yet, to find a really good bartender in Roseburg. Well the food is always great!!! They have had lots of new servers and they just aren't good at the job. We ordered a hot chocolate last month and someone else ordered the same thing. Ours had no whip topping on it and the other was all done up. This time right now our server checked on one table 4 times before even noticing we hadn't even made an order. We also saw other tables trying to flag them down. Like I said though the food is great, it makes it hard to come here when the server ignores the patrons. There are some amazing servers here that we love but the new staff just isn't stellar. We have been going here for years. read more

Chicken Asiago & Mushroom Bowl. $13.00 Tossed with penne pasta, mushrooms, arugula & creamy alfredo This is what I ordered from Brix Grill..... sounds good right..... You hear about Brix around quite often in town. I have heard different things about them in passing such as that they are really good! Or I hear that they're really expensive from other people and if you want a good meal save some money before you go there. So I just get mixed reviews and signals from this place but I have tried it and this is what I got out of it. Now when I ordered there for lunch this is what I was given.... now don`t get me wrong I am no food critic but come on. When I opened my food I looked at it and thought well looks ok (nothing fancy like I heard or expected). As I take the first bite I can tell the noodles where put in before the pot was boiling and they also didn't let it cook long enough the pasta tasted gummy and little hard which is what happens when you put the noodles in before the water boils you get that gummy texture. Followed by the hard texture is they where in a hurry and didn`t cook it long enough which case in point the reason behind it tasting hard as well. The next thing is the arugula I am ok and fine with a garnish but don't douse it with a garnish. And the way they have the arugula it's meant to be for a slight garnish and taste. But the way they arranged it in this meal is not the way to present it. If they wanted that amount of arugula in that dish for the taste then it should have been cooked with the pasta at least in my opinion. Now the chicken (shaking my head) there is absolutely no excuse for the way the chicken was cooked! The chicken you could tell just by looking at it that it was reheated, overcooked, burnt, and the absolute driest and chewiest chicken. This in my opinion is not chicken this was pasta with arugula and mushrooms topped with chicken jerky! If you are a cook or chef you would have never sent that out. You should be very disappointed in yourself and disgusted. With how much you charge on certain dishes at certain times of day with the customer clientele you have you deserve to give the best to your customers. plain and simple read more

Nope. My visit to this place was frustrating, to say the least. Our server was very sweet, so that was nice, but this is not the place to go if you are vegan and/or gluten-free. No gluten-free bread, buns, or beer. Some vegetarian options that can be modified to be vegan, but no true vegan items past salad. And it seems like they have trouble keeping their kitchen stocked with ingredients used in many if the vegetarian dishes. We placed our order after a considerable discussion with our server about all the things that they currently did not have at the restaurant, which were still on the menu. It might be time for a menu update, folks. After placing our order, our server came out no less than three times to tell us that they were out of all kinds of other food items beyond the ones we had already discussed before placing our order. Out of veggie patties, avocado, and cauliflower - all main stars of dishes that could have been great(?). I ended up having to piece something together and ate fries with a salad. I tried the mixed basket of fries, which includes portobello, sweet potato, and waffle fries. I liked the thickness of the waffle fries and the sweet potatoes were classically sweet. The portobello ones were alright, but they were missing a robustness to the mushroom flavor. The salad was a typical salad and the dressing tasted like plain olive oil. I don't know exactly what this place is trying to do, but it's missing the mark on inventory management for sure. read more

We're from out-of-town, and stopped to have lunch. Due to COVID, we purposely ate outside at a sidewalk table, even though plenty of folks were eating inside. The food itself was passable. Thumbs up on the french toast, but the pancakes were only so-so. Our main gripe is regarding the COVID precautions taken by the person waiting our table. We intentionally sat outside and wore our masks whenever someone walked by (from the restaurant or even pedestrians). We asked our server to wear her mask, which she did. Only later did my daughter point out that the server was wearing a beaded "fashion" mask that actually does nothing to prevent COVID transmission. At time of our meal, my spouse and I were vaccinated, but our kids were not. The server's actions were disrespectful and dangerous. Had we known the server's mask was a fake, we would not have eaten at this restaurant. Bottom line: the food quality to price ratio was probably already too low for us to consider returning. However, the complete lack of respect shown by the wait staff regarding COVID safety seals the deal, we will never eat here again. read more

They told us they no longer seat people after 2:30 and we replied with its only 2:24. She then just glares and turns away and yells "fine". We decided to go else where from now on. We were coming once to twice a week for the last few years but not anymore. So I guess just don't come within an hour of them closing. I really like this place a lot. I just recently discovered the upstairs outdoor seating. I've had a lovely salad (forage) and the pasta with steak. Delicious. I wish we could get back to "normal" so they can resume more hours. Closing at 3pm doesn't work for my work schedule. There's so much else I want to try out on the menu. Or, can we be open on Sunday until 3pm? Staff has always been very kind and friendly. Five stars when they're able to be open more. :) read more

Thanks, Brix, for a very nice dinner on our stopover night en route to WA. The whole staff is super friendly and take care of everyone well. It's an attractive, unpretentious setting with option for dining in the bar and catching a game or in the main dining room. We thought the Cobb salad was excellent with plenty of all the good stuff. The Forage salad was also great; I asked for tofu add on instead of chicken and was happily accommodated. Loved the sesame apple dressing, and they had the right amount on to lightly coat the salad without overdoing it. I enjoyed a nice glass of Tempranillo, well priced at $8. Maybe next time I'll try one of their cocktails, also a deal at $8-9. The only off note was the 'lasagna' soup, which was not very hot and was way too sweet for my taste-could have used more herbs and acid. The price of everything was quite reasonable especially for the quality and quantity of the salads. This place has moved Roseburg up on my list of towns between CA and WA! read more

I'm worried about this place....we've been good customers for 5-6 years, and due to Covid, want to eat outside because of a compromised immune system. Twice in the past couple of weeks, I've gone inside to let them know I am outside, and let, very frustrated. The first time, I waited 20 min without anyone coming out to see what I wanted. So I left.
