They have a salad bar, a hot bar for breakfast that had grits, sausage, bacon, hash brown casserole, scrambled eggs, potatoes, waffles, and oatmeal. Then they also had a lunch hot bar. It had salmon, chicken, greens, shrimp and grits, macaroni and cheese. They also had a fruit bar and a dessert bar!!! Like i said, it's worth the pay! I've walked down to this place several times since I've been in Chattanooga for lunch. Always a buffet, so I've not had a chance to take a pic of the menu or remembered to take pics of the food. Maybe when I go for an evening meal. That being said, the food is pretty decent. Nothing to jump up and down about. I've not had anything there yet that was really bad. The waitstaff are hit and miss. Some times they're Johnny on the Spot and others, well, you have to hunt them down. The decor is nice and gives off good, high, but not too high class feel. The place is clean as well. Never tried it during the evening, but hope to add that to my review one day. If you're in the neighborhood, stop in. You could be a fan! Who knows? read more

I've only had the breakfast here during the week when I travel for work. The Chattanoogan is my favorite hotel in town for work travel, and one reason is this breakfast. They have a wide variety of things to suit any mood or health choice. It's a good balance between fancy and efficient. No styrofoam in sight. They will cook eggs to order if you ask. You get the experience of a nice meal on real plates (suitable for breakfast meeting) with the quickness you sometimes need on your way to work. The staff is a bit unsophisticated. read more

Had dinner here in the bar area during happy hour and it was a great experience. Good atmosphere and very convenient to the convention center. The chicken quesadillas were good, nothing special, but the steak soup was amazing and the french fries were surprisingly tasty. Drinks were strong (with good happy hour prices on beer and wine, especially) and service was fast and friendly. I would absolutely grab a meal here again if/when I end up back in Chattanooga. read more

With some friends in town for the weekend, we decided to check out Broad Street Grille's Sunday Brunch. They do a Champagne brunch on Sundays where you get their all you can eat buffet and unlimited mimosas and poinsettias (which are included in the price). They also advertise a Bloody Mary Bar... but that wasn't available the day we went (and it costs extra). My first thought as we walked in the door was that it was a typical upscale hotel restaurant. The decor wasn't anything too exceptional and I felt like I was in a hotel restaurant. That being said, the fixtures were all very nice and in great repair. The carpet looked clean and the buffet set up was spectacular. There were a lot of people there when we arrived and I could see a whole lot of food just waiting to be eaten. Our server was a friendly guy. He took our drink orders and informed us about the Bloody Mary Bar situation (he made the Bloody Mary drinks). When the Mimosas came around, I could tell they were poured with a heavy hand... which was good, but unusual for a "unlimited" situation. Soon, we headed over for the food. There they had a couple of very good looking pre-assembled salads, or you could make your own. All the ingredients were right there. I took some of the Caesar salad and they had a very good smelling Blintz with strawberry sauce. I took one of those too, along with some crackers and cheese from the same table. Boy, was that Blintz (and the salad) good! Round two consisted of the breakfast foods... Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and some heavenly French toast. They also had a poached egg on ham and fried green tomato... and a waffle station. And that's all that I sampled! There was plenty more for breakfast and I didn't even have room for the lunch! Lunch included a braised pork shoulder, chicken, and a chef-manned carving station. I don't even remember what he was carving! If fresh fruit is more your cup of tea, they had plenty of that too... and then there was the desserts. A whole table dedicated to desserts. Chocolate cakes, fudge, cheesecakes, carrot cakes, and more. I enjoyed every bite of this smorgasbord. I really wanted to go back for another round, but just couldn't put another bite away. I really enjoyed all of the food here. I really couldn't go five stars without at least trying some of the dinner food... maybe next time. My only complaint? The server didn't come around often enough to refill the drinks (not even the water). Also, they advertise an omelet station, but I didn't see it.... maybe I missed it... but I was disappointed. I really like the Broad Street Grille. It's located in The Chattanoogan hotel and offers breakfast buffet, Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner! The first time I ate here was for dinner on a Friday night. It was steak night! It was absolutely delicious! A little bit on the pricier end, but well worth it! I got the porterhouse steak with whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus topped with a delicious, peppery sauce. Everything was so full of flavor! YUM! My husband and myself also came here for the breakfast buffet on the same Saturday and Sunday morning we were in town. Since we were staying at the hotel, the hotel offers a special discount for its customers. So, we were given passes, which we had purchased previously and just walked down between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. The breakfast buffet offers your breakfast classics. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, hot maple syrup, potatoes, grits, muffins, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. The restaurant is so clean and organized. The staff is super friendly and professional. Our server we had for dinner, gave us a heads up of awesome night time ventures and local restaurants that he enjoyed. And we also had then the second server we had , we had for both of our breakfasts. He had the greatest memory! He remembered us right away when he saw our faces the second morning. Just returned from the Easter brunch at BSG...well, sort of. The brunch was actually in one of the Chattanoogan event rooms. Felt like I was at a convention instead of Easter brunch. Imagine 100+ tables packed into a cavernous event hall with no visible attempt at making it less convention-like. At a minimum, turn the lights down to make it feel a little less like a meeting. The food was okay, although I have had better at the property. The selection was good and they seemed to have plenty. The wait staff and servers were great. Our waitress was prompt and we never went long without her checking on us. Overall, disappointing execution on the part of the restaurant. The "pack 'em in" mentality doesn't win me over and feels more like a numbers game than focus on the customer experience, which is where it should be. read more

We frequent Broad Street Grille a lot. We love the breakfast and lunch buffets and often bring out of town guests here for a great dining experience. At the beginning of the year, we went for lunch and my girlfriend found hair in her food. We did not return for a while after that. 6 months later we got the bright idea to try it again. I bit into my chicken and there was a long hair cooked into the food! The manager suggested that it came from someone going through the line but I explained again that it was cooked in. Without our asking, she stated that our meals would be on the house. When our waitress came back, we were handed a bill for one of the 2 meals we'd had after being voluntarily told that the bill would be taken care of. I've frequented BSG for years. I've been the BSG many times over the years. The main reason I enjoyed their lunch was because it was buffet-style with good food, decent price (about $11) and free valet parking---which is important when downtown. Recently, they have had a change of ownership/management and it shows---but not in a good way. They have decided to stop having buffet lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the staff can't say if that is a permanent change or not. Their website still says there is a lunch buffet M-F and has the rotation posted. This is clearly no longer the case. Had lunch today. No buffet, so must use menu with small number of lunch items. I was lucky to even get a menu---they apparently only printed about 20 menus. People at my table shared menus---which was ok in the end, because it's a really short menu and it didn't take long to make a choice. Food is MUCH more expensive than previously. Burger was $13 plus drink. Remember---the buffet was previously $11 including drink/dessert. Buffet (when they have it) is now $15.95. Waitress had to be asked to take our order, then food took 30+ minutes. Had to be asked for drink refills more than once and seemed annoyed we had bothered her. Burger was very dry. How do you make a medium-well burger so dry it's hard to swallow??? Eventually, had to chase down someone so I could pay the bill---even though there was only one other table in the whole restaurant at 1:15pm. BSG used to be great for a quick and reasonably priced lunch in a nice quiet space where you could have a business lunch. Now? Bad food. Bad service. Higher prices. Great Breakfast Buffets but there is a cook there that will fix any style of eggs for you, Dinners exceptional. I had a 3 meat dinner and one of the meats was Duck Breast. I found the Duck Breast to be rather tough. Someone came around asking for our opinion on what we ate and took our review seriously and even commented he found the same thing himself. My husband suggested that it be sliced, that this would improve on its tenderness. I believe that this may be tried the next time, they serve it. read more

This was our first visit to Broad Street Grille located at The Chattanoogan hotel. We chose to drive from our home 15 miles away in horrible weather to keep our reservation for Sunday brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We took the earliest reservation which seated us right when they open for brunch. The hotel was extremely busy and there were several large wedding parties staying in the hotel, this was reflected in the dining room upon the brunch opening. Although breakfast seating ended at 8:45am, there were still lingering guests at tables which I believe was hindering the servers to set up the brunch. Since we has a reservation we were seated right away at a four top table. Our server mentioned how the buffet worked and took our drink order, all beverages including endless mimosas were included in the $24.50 price. Bloody Mary's were $5 but they no longer have a build-your-own concept. I worked at an upscale hotel and actually prepared the platters for the Sunday brunch, so I had an expectation of what items to see on the buffet. Typical items were there, cheese tray with dried fruit, fresh fruit platter, Caesar salad, smoked salmon platter ( unfortunately with NO capers or chopped red onion) with mini bagels, cold grilled vegetable platter, a few cold salads. I enjoyed the pimento cheese spread with crackers, it was very fresh and obviously made in house. All of the other platters were sufficient but uninspired in presentation. I got a few pieces of cheese, fresh fruit, a slice of salmon, pimento cheese with lavosh. I love breakfast food so I concentrated on this on my next trip to the buffet. The buffet had a grits bar with cheese, bacon, green onions, berries, and more for toppings. The grits were outstanding. I also enjoyed creamy smooth cheese filled blintzes with berries and whipped cream. The line was deep but I wasn't going to get rushed choosing my foods in line. So, I saw scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, hash brown casserole, bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits here. The Eggs Benedict are served on slices of fried green tomatoes and topped with very little sauce, but it was a really nice twist to traditional preparation. The egg yolks were nice and runny. The bacon was nicely crispy and some of the biggest slices I've seen. I opted for the eggs Bennie, a bit of hash browns, a strip of bacon and a slice of the chef carved ham from the carving station. I wasn't disappointed by anything. I did not get an omelet at the bar, but it looked very good from what I saw the cook producing for other diners. Visiting the dessert bar, I scored a chocolate chip scone and a nice blueberry muffin with the coarse sugar topping. On to the lunch offerings which were baked salmon, pot roast, bbq chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli and another vegetable I can't recall. I don't eat a lot meat, so I took a small piece of chicken to try, it was tender and quite saucy. I was getting too full to sample anything more. The service was attentive but he seemed to have more tables than he could handle. I don't like to look at dirty plates on the table and expect them to be cleared while I am up at the buffet, sometimes he couldn't get to them. All in all, we enjoyed our visit here and will go back again to enjoy it. read more

Um.... no. No no no no. God, this place is horrible. I went here with my family while we were staying at the Chattanoogan Hotel. There was some sort of festival outside and it smelled like beer, so my parents freaked out and thought they were gonna get harassed by drunk people so they decided to eat within the safe confines of our hotel. Hotel restaurants are usually weird, but this one's weirder. They really attempt at making it upscale, but the dirty cheap-hotel carpeting ruins it. Really, I noticed the bad carpeting. Who ever looks at carpets? It's that bad. I was also a little turned off because the restaurant, which was quite large and empty, had a bunch of dirty tables everywhere. It was like no one was bussing tables. Our table was surrounded by dirty ones throughout the entire meal. The waiter was strange... he asked where we were from, and when we told him Champaign, Illinois he went off on a tangent about how he used to live in France. He also told me I looked like Carmen Sandiego. We were ready to order right away, but he wanted to go get us a bread basket first. Fine. Except when he came back with the bread, we found it cold and stale. Now, I wouldn't have dissed the rest of the restaurant so badly if they had good food. But they don't. My mom and I both had the potato soup, which was runny and inedibly salty. Usually, salty = mmmmm, but this was way too much. For my main course I had mushroom-stuffed ravioli in a tomato cream sauce. It was garnished with fried leeks, but it looked craft-store straw for fall-inspired decor. Every part of the dish was oversalted- the pasta, the pasta's filling, and the sauce. So, I couldn't just pick around and look for edible parts, because there were none. Oh yeah, and the fried leeks not only looked like straw but they tasted like it, too. My dad's steak was bland and sliced potatoes were not fully cooked. If you're staying at this hotel, AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. Go outside and eat somewhere interesting. Drunk people are better than bad food. read more

Last night, the husband and I left the kids for a once-a-year date night to celebrate my birthday. I was given full authority to choose any place, any cost, any food style. I had narrowed my list to the ones listed here for downtown Chattanooga with the highest ratings that didn't specialize in seafood (not my favorite at all.) Then the husband showed me a restaurant.com offer for BSG. I looked at the reviews here and was a little concerned. I looked at the "steak night" menu and decided to give it a shot. wow. I ordered the cheese tray and enjoyed it. The cheeses were good. A spicy cheese would have been a nice variety. The locally grown honeycomb was so very good. The strawberries and blackberries (considering they were out of season) were good. The husband ordered the shrimp and grits and ate every bite. I tried the grits with the sauce from the grits and liked it a lot. We both ordered the filet mignon. I have an allergy to mushrooms, which the chef accomodated by not including the shitake reduction on my plate. I also asked for my filet to be almost medium well. ... I know. That is the kiss of death for a filet and almost sinful. I just don't like meat that is more than just light pink. I'm persnickety, and I'm good with that. The steaks were almost fork-tender and so very juicy and just plain delicious. We both ate every bite. The creamed potatoes and beans were excellent also. We skipped dessert. Honestly, the options were not impressive, and we knew the way to Krispy Kreme and wanted to bring home a reward to the kids and the baby-sitter. So, go on a Friday Steak Night. Eat the filet. Waddle home. (logistics: we parked in the adjacent parking garage. The gate was up when we left, otherwise it would have cost $4ish. We could have used the valet parking, but I wanted a little walk holding the husband's hand. The hostess did say they would have validated our valet parking ticket though. My husband and I took our son to brunch today to celebrate his 26th birthday. The reviews I read were kind of negative but we decided to take a chance and we were so glad we did. Mediocre food, but don't mistakenly leave low percentage tip because your server will hunt you down and ask you why you did not tip better. My wife and I ate at the Broad Street Grille late one night. We were one of only three tables. For some reason we were seated right next to another group even though the entire restaurant was practically empty. We had the date night special which cost $65. It came with a bottle of wine, a starter, soup/salad, an entrée, and dessert. The food was average and our server was very prompt and courteous. At the end of the meal I thought I was satisfied overall with the food and service but...when I paid I used a gift card. Our total bill was about $90 and the gift card brought the bill down to about $40. When I left the tip on the bill I accidentally tipped based on the price that I paid instead of the overall cost of the meal. Oops! BIG MISTAKE! After using the restroom on the way out of the restaurant, our server confronted us about not leaving at least a ten percent tip. I apologized and gave him some extra to make up for my mistake, but his confrontation made me very uncomfortable (especially after I had already spent $100 on dinner and he was upset over a few bucks) and I will not be returning to the Broad Street Grille over the fear of having the same server again. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We had dinner there so this only rates the dinner experience. It is an open, casual style atmosphere. My hubby had Ahi Tuna and I had salmon over spinach. For $43, it tasted okay but it was nothing out of the ordinary like we had expected from this restaurant. My hubby ordered a side house salad and ate about 1/4 of it because it had a bitter taste to it. Another $6 I would not recommend spending. We had a bottle of wine which was decent at $36, which the best part of our meal. So for nearly $100 including tip, our expectations were not met. Now I will say we did have great service so kudos there. We will give the brunch a shot to rate this restaurant fairly. Will post after we do. Chattanooga downtown has better dining experiences for the same price-or less. I hate to say it but pass on dinner. read more

We had the most horrible lunch experience here. We got there around 12:30PM for lunch. An hour after placing the orders, we were getting restless. The waiter was nice enough to bring over some rolls "to hold us over since we have children." The rolls were ice cold and stale. Another 30 minutes went by when all the food came out. My husband ordered the blackened grouper sandwich which was so scary looking that he prodded his food before giving up on it. The grouper was questionable in that other than being blackened, the fish flaked apart and is greyish, brownish looking, not white. It was so fishy that he almost threw up! The side of fruit was beautiful looking until we started eating it. Between the blackberries and raspberries, there were white web looking molds. I cannot remember the last time I had such terrible meal experience. We were so mad yet felt so bad for the waiter for working in such a poor establishment that we still tipped him average. The Christmas day meal was an utter joke for the price of $45 a head plus automatic 20% gratuity in a buffet setting - so $324 plus tax for a party of six. Such an unpleasant experience. I'm not a fan nor am I an advocate of buffet style dining. I have to make an exception for BSG. This was easily the best breakfast buffet I've had in a long time. We were here for Sunday Brunch (starts late...11 AM) and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of selections. It was well presented and the beverage/table clearing service was expedient. To have the best selection and avoid lines, get there when they open---it gets crowded quickly and the selections can start to wane within the first hour of service. Better than expected. read more

Not a buffet fan - actually I would say I hate buffets. This place is my only exception. The food is fresh and flavorful. They offer several selections - they had italian beef, chicken in a tomato sauce among others. We stayed at the Chattanoogan Hotel which is where the B.S. Grille is located. The atmosphere was acceptable, but the tables were a little too close together. Liked the fact that the chef decided to use farm to table using local farmers markets to procure their ingredients. There is a nightly changing 3 course meal that we decided to try. We had oyster mushroom risotto which was fantastic, scallops on top of cauliflower puree and paprika oil, and lamb chops and tuna atop wilted spinach for entrees that were both excellently cooked. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I decided to try this place after getting a steep discount. Even at over 50% off, it was NOT worth it. We went in on a slow night; there were only 3 tables seated when we got there. Even so, it took over an hour for us to place our order, and over another hour for us to get our food. When the food finally arrived, the salads were warm and wilted and the hot food was cold and hard. Absolutely disgusting for everyone at the table. When we complained to the management, instead of trying to fix the problem, they avoided us for the rest of the evening. If you have to choose between Broad Street Grille and McDonald's, believe me--you'll be happier with McDonald's. The food will get to you on time, and it'll probably at least be close to the right temperature. read more

My husband and I ate here during a weekend getaway. We wanted to have dinner somewhere very nice. We researched several places but picked BSG because of the Restaurant.com offer. The atmosphere was nice. It was great for a couple wanting a romantic dinner. We had made reservations which we ended up laughing about when we arrived. 7pm on a Saturday and the place was only 1/3 of the way full. Our server was very friendly and kept our glasses full all night. We opted for the date night special. We each received an appetizer, soup/salad, entree, and a mini dessert. It also came with a bottle of wine. We told our server we wouldn't mind trying whatever the sweetest wine he had was. Nothing on their list for the night was sweet, but he found another bottle he could offer us which was very nice. My husband had bison meatloaf and I had beef carpaccio for our appetizers. We both had cesar salad and steak, potatoes, and asaragus for the entree. We split a full size dessert (frozen peanut butter fudge pie) to help us reach our spending limit to use the certificate. Everything we ate was good. We didn't have any complaints about the food. We were both excited to go to a nicer place so we could try something new. I had rack of lamb on my mind. The limited menu that night offered steak, pork, chicken, and trout- so nothing out of the ordinary. Like I said the food was good, but it was nothing special. It was the same quality I could get at Texas Roadhouse or O'Charleys. I definitly wouldn't pay their normal asking price for it. Also, the service was very slow. I think it was a kitchen issue as our server was great. We arrived at 6:45 and didn't leave until 8:45. Since we were staying downtown and were just wanting a romantic meal, it didn't bother us. But, under normal circumstances I probably wouldn't have been happy. It took us a long time to get our salad after the appetizer and it didn't require cooking. Another thing that kind of bothered me was the server added an 18% tip. We are good tippers, so I would have tipped that amount. But, he said it was required by restaurant.com. I know for a fact that isn't true. It wasn't on my certificate. In fact the certificate had a note "remember to tip your waiter". So, to wrap it up: We enjoyed our meal, but we probably won't ever return. It was just okay. read more

My husband recently made reservations here for mothers day brunch. several days later they called back and said they couldn't book us at that time we reserved and moved our reservation back. The person on the phone was incredibly rude to my husband and told him that we would only have an 1 and 45 minutes to eat our food. Really WTF? I've never heard of such a thing. Needless to say we won't be eating here ever again. read more

We went for Thanksgiving dinner this year and the wait staff was very quick & professional. The mimosa & bloody Mary bar were awesome as were the buffets. However, the dessert bar was messy and nothing appeared to be homemade. read more

Have eaten here a few times. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Enjoyed a Mother's Day brunch here a few years back and everything was delicious with lots of choices on the buffet. It is located in The Chattanoogan Hotel which is lovely. read more

Great service wonderful food. Nice atmosphere. We had an Anniversary / Valentines dinner, it was so good.
