Just had a great breakfast at the Broadway Cafe. The menu is simple for breakfast, but what they do, they do well! The food was great, and the service even better. Great music was playing as we enjoyed our meal. While we were having breakfast out on their nice patio, the chefs were smoking brisket and pork and they looked amazingly! We seriously might just head on back at 2pm for BBQ sandwiches and live music! As part-time residents of Big Bear for over two years, I must say I am so glad we finally found this place! Really memorable. Friendly staff, fun theme, nice seating area outside, and good food. My vegetarian patty melt was a little greasy, but in a good, tasty way. I knew what I was ordering! Crisp and flavorful with perfect onions. And the ranch! I overheard they make it homemade which I believe because somehow it was the most delicious ranch I could ask for. I want to buy a bottle! Good and low prices all around, but don't take my word for it, check the menu prices! I had been here a few years ago and when I came back to Big Bear I knew I wanted to return. Always good food and personable service. The burgers are the real thing with many varieties to choose from. Lots of sandwiches. Also, the Huli chicken is good but get it EARLY on Monday or phone in to reserve one. Did I mention you can order tater tots? Oh yeah! Great food, and that is what matters. I love the Fried Chicken Club sandwich, and my wife loves the burgers. But, you have to be careful, they have a tendency to get your order wrong. Has happen multiple times. We have ordered the tater torts instead of the fries, and they bring fries, stuff like that. read more

Everything looked good on the menu. We ordered the brisket sandwiches combo , tuna melt, onion rings, fried zucchini, potato skins, and clam chowder. The food: Was very turned off when I started seeing them taking out most of the food from the freezer and fridge and from bags. I didn't expect most of the food to be frozen. I decided it's fine let's give it a chance it should be fine, the potato skins and clam chowder definitely a no go. Potato skin tasted very old. Clam chowder wasn't really chowder more potatoes and very grainy. The brisket was spicy but ok. Everything else was fine. Venue: Pretty small but cozy local feel. Staff are very friendly. We were in search of coffee and found Broadway cafe as we drove down the busy road. We tried a Very delicious brisket sandwich and tuna melt sandwich. The girls ordered two hot chocolates and were served two cups with hot chocolate topped with whip cream and chocolate in top. Looked yummy and taste fabulous. One of the servers took the time to bring my hubby a taste of plain smoked brisket. He was very friendly! Small cafe with only three tables but cute decor of theater pics! There are heaters available for all you fellow cold blooded folks. ::Food:: If you're looking for a straightforward menu, you have found your spot. The highlight for me is the tater tots. If you read my other reviews, you know how passionate I am about tater tots. For vegetarians you are limited, but seriously, when aren't we limited? I wound up getting the Veggie Extravaganza. Boy was it filling ! It had zucchini, mushrooms, crispy sourdough bread, and melted cheese. I manage to devour half of it along with more tots than I should have had. The boys appeared to have enjoyed their brisket sandwiches. We all split a carafe of mimosa. All in all, I will say that the food was good. ::Service:: This is the highlight for me. Note, that the google menu is incorrect! We arrived excited for sprout and avocado sandwiches. Big Bear has a lot of options with a lot of places to eat some ranging from one $ to some that are $$$ money symbols on the Yelp chart. the Broadway Café was a reasonably priced establishment with outdoor dining and a few small tables inside the food was absolutely amazing which is why I'm giving a five star review the customer service was also amazing which is another reason for the five stars we will definitely be back next time we visit big Bear my fiancé got the western style burger with onion ring on top of it and barbecue sauce while I got a classic cheeseburger combo that was absolutely delicious we both had tater tots which I love I'm so glad that we found this place thank you read more

This is a really cute little place on the main road near the airport. They have outside seating which was great for us and our dog. They brought a clean water bowl over for our dog and everything outside was well maintained and clean. The food was delicious! Awesome burgers and fries. The people here were very friendly and welcoming. It was a group of 5 of us that came in on a Friday evening. The place is very cozy and seems to be family owned and operated. There's limited seating inside, but they do have an outdoor patio area for when the weather allows. Luckily, wewere able to get a table inside for all of us. I ordered the Bacon and blue cheese burger with zucchini sticks, and my husband ordered the pastrami melt and a raspberry shake. My meal was great! The blue cheese was more of a spread and not just the crumbles, the bacon was crispy and cooked to perfection. My husband raved about the sandwich and how delicious his shake was. One of our favorite little spots when we visit our cabin, and when I say little, it's not an exaggeration. This place is tiny, with about three tables inside, but a large patio is available if the weather allows. The building itself is a bit run down, but pretty typical of a small establishment in Big Bear. The food is top notch and easily THE BEST BURGER ON THE MOUNTAIN. Seriously, don't even bother going to other burger joints in Big Bear. Brodway has daily specials like a bacon avocado cheese burger that is more affordably than the regular menu prices. I highly recommend getting all of there burgers on grilled sourdough, or rye for the patty melt which is simply divine. The chili burger is my son's choice, and their chili is pretty darn good. It has won the Big Bear chili cook off several years running. The fries are average, but the ONION RINGS ARE THE BOMB. Hand breaded and fried to order and served with home made ranch dressing if you ask. I honestly have not had anything on the menu besides burgers, so I can't comment on other food, but I have been told that the Huli Chicken is tasty. Expect to spend $12-15 for a meal and to wait for your order while it cooks. The price is pretty consistent for Big Bear, and the food is worth the wait. read more

This place reeled us in with the smoker outside...we knew...early in the morning when we saw it in passing...we would be back for lunch! Thank goodness we did! Amazing bbq!!!! We had the 1/2 hui hui chicken combo (I'm probably not saying it correctly...but you get the idea) it was a huge portion that I shared with my 9yr old daughter (and quickly resented my decision to share) the sauce/marinade was delicious! I think if they would've given me a cup...I would've drank it...hehehe. Very pet friendly...as soon as we sat outside with our dog the owner came with a bowl of water for him and a dog treat (much appreciate how our dog was given good service as well as us) the place is small with limited seating inside...but they do offer heat lamps to dine outdoors. We will definitely be going back every time we visit the lake. read more

Great little burger place with just a few seats inside and a pretty good seating area outside. Priced really fair for what you get. Beers are just $3-$4 a bottle and food is really good!!! Everything made to order, so sometimes it may take a bit, but so worth it. People who work there really care and are nice and accommodating. I had bacon avocado burger and my hubby went blue cheese burger. Both were good. There was a whole half an avocado on my burger which didn't make me sad. The fries alone were worth the price. Great fries. I read over the menu while waiting and breakfast looks great. We'll be trying that! read more
