On our first visit, we ordered the Super Breakfast Burger, Breakfast Burger w veggie patty, and Grilled Cheese + Strawberry Shake for the kid. The burgers were a unique take - never had breakfast in my burger! Huge, delish. On our second visit, we ordered the Veggie Sandwich, Southwestern Burger, and my kid devoured an entire Cheeseburger with veggie patty! He finished the whole thing! I was surprised he could finish a whole burger that was way bigger than his mouth. Haha. My Southwestern burger hit my craving perfectly. Hubs enjoyed his Veggie Sandwich as well. Staff friendly. We were here on our mini spring break vacation. We stopped here after arriving. I believe it's a mom and daughter own business. They were super friendly and kind. This is my first time eating here and I was craving burgers. With all the different burgers I decided to get the southwest burger. This burger is delicious especially with the massive onion ring in the center. I also picked up a side of tater tots as well which was cooked to perfection. Every bite came with a crunch. Not soggy at all like other places. The service was top tier. If you're craving burgers I'd skip McDonald's and Carls and choose this place. The quality is 10X better. We were in Big Bear working on the family cabin this past weekend and wanted some burgers for dinner. The Broadway Cafe is just a mile away from the house so I called and placed an order to pickup. I arrived a few minutes early and they were still making our meal so I got to chat with the staff and I believe the owner, and everyone was very cordial and friendly. The restaurant has a few tables inside but has a great outdoor dining area that we'll definitely try next time because they welcome dogs outside. I ordered the patty melt and fries, and my husband had the bacon avocado burger and onion rings. The burgers were perfectly cooked with all fresh ingredients and while the French fries were good, the onion rings were outstanding! They looked and tasted homemade and they made sure to ask if we needed ketchup or ranch dressing or BBQ sauce for the fries and rings. Besides our dinner choices, there are a lot of great food options on their menu and we'll be sure to try more dishes the next time we go. read more

Decent breakfast burrito for about $15 (2 burritos w gratuity almost $40) 3 stars for home cooked taste. Hubby was bummed though, I ordered over the phone take out and asked to leave out the hash browns on his burrito, add extra meat (bacon & sausage) of course no qualms extra charge. When I arrived I was told, heads up (which means before not after) next time when you take out the potatoes in the burrito it's quite a bit smaller even with double meat so we can cut the tortilla so it's not so much tortilla. Business Owner Tip- next time give the heads up over the phone and offer option for customer to add extra egg (obviously an extra charge with cost of eggs nowadays) so I get a $15 burrito instead of a breakfast roll up ;) read more

Stopped in here on a Sunday morning with my family and I will not be coming back. This place has potential however, the staff seem flustered and confused. We ordered five drinks and it took around 35 minutes to get drinks, two of which were just plain black coffee... seems absurd. To top it off there was another table who arrived around 10 minutes after we did but received their food and drinks before we did which was very disappointing, how could that be? Food was okay, not really hot, and nothing worth raving about and the iced banana foster latte was not great and incredibly watered down, I didn't even bother to finish it. When we received one of the drinks and asked a question about it, the older waitress seemed annoyed to answer which was very off putting. They need better time management, organization, and customer service skills. We came here because Grizzly Manor was quite busy but looking back we were better off just waiting for a table there! read more

I initially reviewed this place 10 years ago. I found out that it has recently changed ownership and it has not gone well. It used to be very good and I will give them a year and try again. If they have improved I will edit this review. My wife and I arrived around 12:30. After some confusion a person came out to take our order. Mine was BBQ brisket sandwich; my wife's chicken club/fries combo. We both got iced tea. The tea was pretty good and that's important to me. That and the fries were about the only thing I can talk positively about. It took a good 30 minutes to get the food and they were not busy. They didn't have the kaiser roll my brisket was supposed to come on so they subbed sourdough, which was just a couple of skimpy pieces of cold bread, not toasted. The meat had very little BBQ sauce and was so salty I could only get a couple of bites down. It was like beef jerky. My wife managed to swallow more like half of her sandwich but it was way overcooked so she gave up too. The restaurant business is notoriously difficult and most fail, so I can understand what they're up against. I sincerely hope the owner reads this and understands I am not trying to bash them. I truly will return in a year or so and by that time they will probably have either improved or sold the place to a new owner. I wish them luck! read more

Their great Yelp rating speaks for itself - probably the best place to eat in Big Bear City (that's the part of the valley where there are no tourists, not to be confused with Big Bear Lake). While there was 90+ min waiting list in every single place in the Village - we came to Broadway Cafe, ordered food almost immediately, and enjoyed outdoor seating. I had a brisket sandwich and clam chowder and both were great. And my buddies enjoyed their hamburgers as well. This place is phenomenal!! The food, the location the owners and staff. Theeee absolute best. Our party was a party of 10 and we got a variety of everything... chili burger, grilled PB&J, grill cheese, fried pickles, clubs sandwich, other cheeseburgers, coffee and a couple other things and everyone rated their food between 8-10 in a scale of 10. No complains and we left stuffed and SO happy. This was a total impulse meal, because we heard from locals that they had amazing burgers! This is entirely true. Their beef is very good quality and they offer a nice selection of options. The seating area is a bit small inside but they have a nice sized patio for outdoor dining. We even learned about a rooftop seating area, albeit too late. Maybe we missed the signage or maybe it's a secret local spot. Our server was kind to bring our pup a bowl of water, as well. I'm only giving four stars because I think they could make some improvements with the condiments. I opened up two packets of Mayo and one seemed to be outdated/fermenting/aging not gracefully. Just an unassuming joint on the eastern side of the lake that houses what they claim to be the best burger in Big Bear for the last 5 years running. I don't know how many places serve up burgers in Big Bear, but the 5 time reigning champ must mean something. To pile on the accolades, their chili is apparently award winning (twice?) as well. Their chicken breast was also meaty and juicy as a plump strawberry. You don't need to pay gourmet burger prices here to get a filling flavorful meal. There's plenty of parking in the lot, and there's decent amount of outside seating and a couple of tables inside. Oh man, I haven't been able to stop thinking about this place since we left Big Bear this weekend! Incredible is such an understatement. We were more than impressed with how amazing the food tasted. Stopped here with my friends before checking in to our cabin. We made the right choice and will be forever grateful the chili was absolutely delightful, I had a bite of the sandwich they had ordered and it was cooked perfect and tasted DELICIOUS. The place looks cute but isn't so welcoming. Upon our arrival, we didn't know what to order so we were tossed the menus with a attitude (not going to say who). I get it they can get busy when everything else closes early in this area. But they're should be manners and a bit more courtesy. But the lady who gave us the food was very nice and friendly. But they don't wipe down the tables. I saw the lady just grab all the crumbs with her bare hand and threw them to the floor. That was gross. I don't say this to be mean, but if they read this, to take initiative and treat their customers with more respect and cleanliness. read more

I'm not sure about all of these good reviews.. maybe we went on a really off day but it started with our server.. she was an older lady and she was extremely unfriendly. Didn't ask us how we were doing, seemed annoyed that we were there or that she really didn't want to be there. Her responses were very short and again just seemed annoyed. We asked how we could adjust the umbrella at the table and she responded with she doesn't know, she never touches the umbrellas, but then 5 minutes later, proceeded to go fix another umbrella at another table! The Bloody Mary's were awful. They looked light pink. They looked more like a gazpacho soup. The older gentlemen was really nice though and he came out and asked how the drinks were.. he was so nice so we didn't say anything about the drinks. The breakfast sandwich was terrible. She didn't ask initially if we wanted meat in it but then came back 10 minutes later and asked if we did but then it would take longer. Again, sounding like she was so annoyed. This is an outstanding little restaurant! We've had a home in Sugarloaf since 2015, and had never gone here until my granddaughter from Texas asked if we could eat here. It's a wonderful place with great home cooking. The ladies working here were so kind and friendly--made us feel at home. We'll definitely be coming back! read more
