Meh. Got a breakfast burger for me, one for my daughter, and a southwest for my son. The kids had tots, and I had chili cheese fries. The burgers were okay, but nothing special. The tots were good, but the so-called, chili cook-off winning chili was extremely boring and had something like stems in it. It must have been some type of herb/spice, but it was like eating twigs. A mountain gem! Do not overlook this tiny spot when headed into big bear. When I tell you their burgers are mouth watering I don't lie. We stopped in here 2x on our trip up to big bear and may come back a third time just for the ranch alone. You will not feel like a stranger when walking into this place! I was down the street at the sledding park with the kids and friends. Got hungry and looked up spots nearby with American food and beers. This spot popped up, had outdoor dining and no waits. Got to the place and wasn't expecting it to be a small joint but definitely worth it. The employees here are very nice, from making sure we had condiments, turning heat lamps on, and checking up on us. We eneded up ordering about 6 different items and everyone was happy with portions, fresh items, and delicious taste. The kids portions are seriously a regular order adult portion. This place came up as recommended when searching for a breakfast spot in Big Bear. It was close to our cabin, so we went. Overall it is very no-thrilles. But not in a bad way. There is just not fuss, just good food. We came by on a Sunday and ordered the breakfast special, which came with AYCE pancakes. Everything was simple, but freshly made and delicious. The staff was friendly and I noticed a big emphasis on cleanliness. We sat on the patio, and maybe every 10min somebody would come out and wipe down tables and chairs. We had a good experience here. All the restaurants had long wait times and this little spot had plenty of space in the parking lot. We ordered a variety of their burgers and we all enjoyed them. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The breakfast burger was really delicious, too. The chili cheese fries lacked seasoning, but the regular fries were crispy and nicely salted. Almost 5 star worthy so definitely worth checking out. Only things that didn't land the 5 star was the fact that the fries were very basic and lacked any flavor and legit tasted like the Walmart brand fries I cook in my oven lol. I had the pulled pork sandwich combo and stated prior I wanted tater tots before getting the combo since I wanted a drink. I didn't notice until I was eating "wait I ordered tots not fries!" If the combo is fries only I'd suggest telling first time visitors this lol. Other than those two complaints the pulled pork was good and the service was good just sucked I wanted to try the tots and the fries weren't good so it's a double sad face lol. Decor is nicely themed & interesting. Clean inside & love the patio... they have a large menu with many options even for the pups! I got a mushroom burger & chili tots. Good size portions & good flavors. Service was ok, I think they were just annoyed I was there close to closing... I'm honestly a little torn about this review. We went here at the height of COVID madness, and the staff were nice. Outside dining was available. I ordered food for the whole family, and everyone loved it, but I had ordered fish and chips. They were really terrible. I don't know what happened, but they were just bad. That said, maybe it was an off day for their fish and chips. It really is a nice, clean little place, and they are kind to their customers. I found this gem because it's located kind of further East on Big Bear Blvd where the traffic isn't as bad. They do have a tiny parking lot. Both my hubby and I got the burger combo. It's $11 for a burger, side and drink. I forgot what my hubby got but I got the avocado bacon burger with fries. Burger: Huge! I was so surprised when I opened it. Huge chunk of avocado. The burger was soooooo good and very fresh. I gobbled it down and forgot to take a pic of it. Fries: Was not seasoned. Could use some salt. My hubby got tater tots as a side and it was better. Drink: typical soda choices plus iced tea. I got sprite. They have a nice patio outside to eat or you can get it to go. We opted to go but it did take a while to get our food. Parking was easy and lots of space! The staff were super nice, great ambiance and the food was fast to deliver. Breakfast ends early (11am) but I order a breakfast burger and it did the job. Definitely will recommend and comeback when I'm in Big Bear. read more

I want to return here! This place is really tiny inside with just 3 square tables that seats 4 people each.. and then the kitchen. Husband had the Loco Moco, which was my original choice. This is one of the reasons I want to return to Big Bear City to this cafe... so much food choices including their Sunday Pancake breakfast - all you can eat pancakes and serving of eggs, bacon and/or sausage plus all you can drink coffee, OJ, milk, sodas. Can't beat that for $8! The walls were plastered with framed Playbills from Broadway shows from all over the U.S. -- theatres from the East Coast at Imperial and August Wilson Theatres (NYC) to Ahmanson and the Pantages Theatres (LA) in the West. We were in town for the weekend and saw this place had good reviews. The burgers were really good! I upgraded my fries to onion rings for $2, but was disappointed that I only received 5 onion rings and they were mostly breading. My youngest ordered the chicken tenders and they were pretty tough. Was up in big bear all day, so for lunch I was looking for a local place. Stumbled upon this place on yelp. Food looked pretty good. Parking lot is huge, with seating on the outside and some seating on the inside. The decor is eclectic. Customer service was so so. I ordered their Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger combo which came with a side of fries and a drink. Food took about 10-15 min to come out. The burger was tender and just dripping of juice. And it was large. Smelled awesome. But the biggest problem was that it lacked flavor. It was a huge disappointment. There just was zero flavor. Had to add a heap of ketchup to it. Fries were cooked well. Crisp on the outside. A generous portion of them too. Total bill was $13.50 for the combo which to me is premium pricing. Called in an order of two breakfast burritos. Burritos were ready as soon as we got there and were reasonably priced for the portion size. The lady who charged us for the burrito was so sweet and nice, almost giving it a homey feeling. However the burritos were alright, bacon was a little too burnt where I couldn't really taste anything but how burnt it was. The eggs also had a burntish aftertaste to them. The buns were COLD. we literally saw the "cook" grab it from the fridge and put it on the plate. That's it. Didn't warm it up. The damn fries didn't even have salt! SUPER friendly staff. Great patio for dogs. So wanted to love it but the burger buns were very stale, food was standard and served lukewarm/almost cold, shake machine was broken. It took at least 20 mins to get two burgers and fries so it must have been sitting to get that cold so was a disappointing experience. read more
