Scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns
    Patricia S.

I've eaten here twice but only during the early morning breakfast hours so I'm not sure how the food is or what type of food is generally served at other times of the day. They have your typical drinks, coffee, decaf, various types of bottled waters, a variety of juices, milk, etc. There's pastries, lots of fresh fruit, yogurts, hot and cold cereals and a variety of freshly premade breakfast items such as breakfast burritos, egg, cheese & some sort of meat sandwich, etc. There are made to order omelets, eggs any style, bacon, sausage patties, turkey links, hash brown patties, home potatoes and ham. The first time I had over medium eggs and home potatoes. On todays visit I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, fresh fruit and coffee. The coffee was from Peet's Coffee and was very flavorful and not watered down like a lot of places tend to make it (I drink my coffee black so I can taste all that goodness). The eggs tasted fresh, the hash browns were the premade type like what you can buy at Smart & Final but it wasn't drenched in oil, in fact it didn't taste or seem oily at all which made for some nice flavor. And the bacon was nice and crispy just the way I like it. The fruit was good, fresh and tasty with plenty of variety. They use all biodegradable plates and trays, and there are bins for different items when you are throwing your stuff away. Plenty of tables and chairs so you can sit in a corner by yourself and eat or in my case read and eat. The staff is frendly, it's decent food at a very reasonable price.

Date: 2/9/2016 Time: 12:50 PM 60° Sunny While the wait for my husband's prescription at the pharmacy was going to take about an hour, we stopped in at Broadway Cafe for lunch. Broadway Cafe is inside the Oakland Medical Center (Kaiser/Permanente). They have a weekly menu of daily healthy picks. Per the menu, the offerings are hot and cold cereals, turkey sausage, fruit bar, yogurt parfaits, egg white or egg beater for breakfast. Salad and fruit bar, deli bar and low fat spreads for lunch. Snacks consist of fruit, light yogurt, baked chips, granola bars, etc. They are a cafeteria style eatery. Either order a hot meal or get something from the salad/deli/fruit bar. Their chef's entree and wellness meal varies daily. Today's specials were Cajun chicken gumbo w/steamed rice and seasoned collard greens; chicken chile Verde w/citrus brown rice and steamed vegetables. They also have a vegetarian option and grill specials each day. Price ranges from $5.95 to $7.25. Do it yourself salad bar is 42¢ an ounce; deli bar, 49¢ an ounce. There are large baskets of fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) on the counter just before one approaches the cashier to pay for your meal. My husband and I decided to hit the salad and deli bar for our lunch. The food was okay except my tuna salad was a tad dry. I should have grabbed that packet of mayonnaise to give it a little moisture. The ambiance is comfortable and one can sit by the window to people watch...ha! The total cost of our lunch hit us close to $20. Price is not that bad and we don't have to offer a tip for the service.

This is the cafe at Kaiser Oakland. The food is good-some they cook fresh for you on the grill, some is steam table. They also have a salad bar. Nothing too fancy or exceptional, but the prices are reasonable and it's great to have when you are at the hospital visiting someone. A solid four stars.

Located inside the 3600 MacArthur Kaiser Building, none of these hunger treatment therapies they offered were covered by my insurance and everything required a 100% co-pay.

Great service and healthy menu choices! It was a good place to hang out while other family were at medical appointments. Solid wi-fi too.

The interior makes one feel that you are in a high end cafe with its beautiful decor. Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty. Highly recommend to stop by Sanaa Cafe and experience it. Their website shows more cafe openings in the future!

Suggested great recommendations. they had told me this is not the first sana'a cafe -- there are 10 other locations around the bay. this cafe, in particular, is great for work or even to sit down and sip some coffee. it is spacious -- with great amount of sunlight. when you go at golden hour -- its perfection. although the cafe is great, my chai wasn't so much. it lacked in flavor and wasn't iced the way I would prefer it to be. but I'd still definitely give this place a try again -- maybe a coffee this time around, haha.

We did have to wait a while for the food order which was a little disappointing, even the roti took at least 20+ min to come out and we were the only ones that ordered food at the time. A lot of drink options though and I like the fusion concept. The pandan latte drink I got was just good but nothing outstanding. Not enough pandan flavor in my opinion and tasted more like coconut. Seems like a great cafe to hang out or get some work done. They have a few more tables towards the back of the room.

I ordered the seasonal black sesame matcha latte, and my friend got the pandan coconut latte. She said her drink didn't really have any pandan flavour, and my drink had zero black sesame flavour. The issue with my drink is that it was literally just a matcha latte with a spoonful of plain, raw black sesame seeds dumped in it as a "topping". I was very taken aback and unimpressed with the drink. It was definitely not what I expected from a drink labeled "black sesame". Had I known the drink only came with the literal seeds, I would've skipped this place.

I loved the ambiance, it felt we was in another country. The place was packed I have no idea where everyone parked haha. Very hard to find parking. The Adeni Chai I had was wonderful and I would get again. The lemon pastries I had were good & I would possibly get again. Both cheese pastries & meat pocket I didnt care for so much. I undetstand they are an acquired taste but me being Middle Eastern we have our own versions and I think that's why I didn't like as much. I would definitely go back and try more sweet pastries. They had a large selection I couldn't try them all haha. I would love to try more tea and coffee options as well. Go and try out several different pastries and discover what you like. It's cheaper than buying an airplane ticket to try another countries culture and delights. They also have outside seating which is especially nice on a beautiful day. Pro tip: take an Uber if you can. Parking is hard to get.

We went mainly for drinks and tried a latte, tiramisu latte, and a Spanish latte. The tiramisu latte and Spanish latte were both really good and definitely my favorites. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. You can tell the coffee quality is solid. We also tried the matcha drinks in vanilla and strawberry. I liked the strawberry matcha more. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.
