    Chicken and fries
    Mary K.

Came here before a show at the Stadium Theatre. The place itself is a bit outdated but I'm sure people go there for the food. We all opted for the family style chicken dinner - at $12/pp it's a pretty cheap deal. They do have a full menu but looks like everyone in the place was having the chicken dinner. The family meal includes fried chicken, pasta with red sauce, salad, bread rolls and fries/wedges. Fried chicken was cooked well and was crispy but could use more seasonings. Pasta was meh - sauce wasn't that great. Salad was iceberg (not my fave) with some sort of Italian dressing, bread rolls were nice and warm but nothing special, fries looked hand cut - nice and crispy. Service was great - our waitress was very sweet, friendly and very attentive. She's the reason for the extra star in the review. All in all it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't rush back here for chicken dinners anytime soon as there are other options in the state.

When I arrived, around 3pm I was one of only 2 tables there. It's counter service and the teenagers taking my order were respectful but not overly kind. They didn't tell me I needed to wait for my order as they wouldn't call it out. But, I digress. The restaurant itself is small but clean. Dated in a cute way. You can tell they've been in business for a long time and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I had seen online that they had a scallop and shrimp plate but that wasn't offered today so I settled for shrimp and fish along with a cup of chowder. All this and a bottle of soda cost $40. Not an amazing price but I thought it was reasonable as a treat. My food came out quickly and I started with the seafood chowder. This chowder is amazing. Very creamy, decadent, and full of fish. I can not recommend it enough. The shrimp were also delicious. They were fried very well and moist. Not greasy at all. I recommend those as well. I have conflicting thoughts on the fish. On one hand I know that the English preparation is a heavy batter. I'm okay with that. But this batter was borderline soggy. No crisp to it whatsoever and the fish inside was completely lost to the breading. Which was honestly too bad because the fish itself was nice and flaky. Do I recommend Ye Olde Fish and Chips? Sure. I like supporting small business and I in they add a lot to the area. Would I get the fish again? No. But I will be first in line for the scallop and shrimp plate if it ever comes back to the menu!

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Recently I became somewhat of a regular because the food and the service here is impeccable. Tonight, critically acclaimed server turned bartender Lilly, suggested that I try to Sausage and Bean Soup. Get your car drive to Lucky Dog Tavern and all the time you're on your way there cross your fingers that the Sausage and Bean Soup is on the menu. It was beyond excellent. Just a giant mouthful of flavors expertly orchestrated. Otherwise, It's a gigantic gigantic menu but if the Sausage & Bean Soup is on the special absolutely have it. Take one home with you too. Before I forget to tell you everything on the menu is pretty excellent. But, Just for the record, I skipped over the lasagna. Have I ever lied to you!?

We loved our cozy corner table. Service was great and our drinks arrived quickly after we ordered. For food, we started with the pepperoni flatbread and the pretzels with queso & mustard. They were both very good and I especially liked the queso. Our entrees were steak tips, buffalo chicken risotto, penne with vodka sauce & grilled chicken, and steak tips with mashed potatoes and vegetables. They were all served nice and hot, the portions were a great size, and they were all delicious. We opted for dessert and got the carrot cake and a chocolate martini. Yum and Yum!!!! During our dinner, the manager visited each table to ask how things were going, which was a really nice touch. We're really glad we chose Ciro's. Everything was great and we hope to return soon!

Service was very good -- Jenny was an excellent server: attentive, friendly. The food overall was good. The fish & chips were a bit overcooked, but the rest of the meals at our table were very enjoyable. We were seated upstairs, which I highly recommend. The stained glass windows are beautiful and the space is much quieter than the main floor, making for a relaxed dining atmosphere. Great location if you're heading to the Stadium Theatre -- convenient and a nice way to start the evening.

Located just north of the Rhode Island/Massachusetts state line, the Roast House is also located adjacent to the cemetery. I'd have to say it is pretty convenient for a location outside of Woonsocket. The menu consists of New England comfort food, and in my personal opinion, they offered THE best clam chowder in the region. As far as the fish and chips were for the entree, I liked the fish and chips but the portion of the dish is so large that I didn't finish the rest of the french fries (as a side). Also, the Butterfinger cake is a delicious dessert selection. Don't forget to order one of the best dessert selections if you think that the appetizer or entree is enough. The server for our lunch was friendly and attentive. It's an excellent pick if traveling north of Woonsocket (RI). ~ Chew Castle

When my husband arrived to pick it up, he was told they never received the order. We showed both the Toast confirmation and the pending Bank of America charge for the full amount, but the owner dismissed it as the money "floating there" and said it meant nothing. Instead of helping resolve the issue or honoring the order, we were told we would need to pay again for the food. My husband refused and came home empty handed. When I called to explain that we had a family waiting for dinner and it was now after 8 PM, the owner was rude and unapologetic. She even stated she could see our 42 previous orders, which made the lack of customer service even more disappointing considering we are loyal local customers. Mistakes with third-party apps happen, but refusing to make it right and treating customers poorly is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be ordering from there again.
