Best bagel place in Chi!!! We wanted a small breakfast before running around for the day and found Brobagel which did not disappoint. You can't miss it walking down the street because there are tall windows and a big bagel hanging above the entrance door. When you walk in you're greeted with the intoxicating smells of all of the fresh bagels being baked and toasted. We went with the poppyseed bagel with plain cream cheese and garlic bagel with lox cream cheese. Oh sweet heavens- every creamy, savory bite was better than the last and when we were all done we wanted more!! Can't wait to come back then next time we're in town. read more

A quick and easy breakfast stop in Wicker. We had a few different egg sandwiches. The eggs are real scrambled eggs and have nice flavor. The bagels themselves are pretty good but a little too crispy. They have nice seasoning but they're not soft enough for me so they're hard to bite into without getting stuff everywhere. Now this review is purely for those that like a good bacon egg and cheese. When you pay $7 for a bacon egg and cheese, you would expect a da*n good BEC sandwich. Well it wasn't. The bacon was overcooked (some might like this) and made the sandwich taste like burnt bacon. Really good bagels. Would have given it five stars but I'm doing this thing where whenever I do delivery and they forget the drink I'm writing a yelp review. For whatever reason whenever you order a drink through GrubHub or Uber eats or DoorDash nine times out of 10 they forget the drink. Please figure out a system where you can make sure the drink gets to the person. It's an entire part of the order. Usually the drink is a nice touch with the meal. In this case it was coffee. Very very disappointing to not get my coffee this morning. Other than that really great bagels. I'll continue to order through them. But I'll probably just not get coffee since it's probably not gonna get to me. read more

brobagel is such an amazing breakfast option in Wicker Park!! Better yet, ITS A 4 MINUTE WALK FROM THE DAMEN BLUE LINE. So no matter where you are, you can hop on the blue line and get right to Brobagel!!! I have heard there is usually a HUGE line at this place but when i went at 1:30pm on a Sunday we were able to order right away lol. Decent bagels but the ordering and pick-up process is a nightmare. There is one line out a walk-up window. This line is for both those who want to order then, AND for those who ordered online previously. And when you arrive, you join 25 other people who are as confused as you. The first time I went to brobagel, I ordered the lox bagel. When I sat down to eat it, I discovered that it was an egg and cheese bagel, which is half the price. Today, after I decided to try it again, I ordering a simple egg/bacon/cheese on an everything bagel which took them over 15 minutes to make which made me very late for work. It also only had half of a bacon slice on it. Nothing like losing money and maybe your job for a less than stellar bagel. read more

Best bagels Whenever I visit my daughter in Wicker Park I look forward to getting bagels from Brobagel (so happy that they reopened just before my recent visit). Being a native New Yorker I am very picky about bagels and Brobagel's are excellent - crunchy and chewy and lots of 'everything' (top and bottom) on the everything bagel. I have an obsession with nova lox bagels and have been dying to try the one from this place for awhile but their hours have been so limited, it has been tough to find myself in the area at the right time. The perfect confluence of events led me to be here while they were open recently and I finally got to sink my teeth into that lox bagel and I also decided to try their bacon egg and cheese bagel. I'm glad I tried both because the highlight, surprisingly, turned out to be the bacon egg and cheese compared to the lox. I got the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was perfectly warmed with a good amount of each ingredient inside. Each bite was packed with so much flavor and tastiness, it was awesome. On the other hand, I was slightly disappointed by the lox bagel. I got that on an onion bagel and I found it to be average, not the worst nor the best lox bagel I've ever had. The cream cheese to salmon ratio was off as I was overwhelmed with cream cheese and sometimes didn't even taste the salmon. The bagel itself was also harder than I've usually had but overall it made for an okay meal. For the bacon egg and cheese I'd give it a 5/5 and for the lox I'd say 3/5 so that's why I averaged at 4/5! Highly suggest you try the warmer breakfast themed bagels from here! read more

Having lived in the NYC area, a Chicago bagel will never compare... sorry! For Chicago... this is an excellent bagel. They are fairly small (when compared to NYC) but are delicious. My favorite is the Everything. They do not have any sweet bagels (Blueberry or Strawberry...) but do have a large variety of flavored cream cheeses. This place is always PACKED on the weekends! Be prepared to wait. They have a new, more computerized ordering system and it seems they are working out some kinks still. The place itself is quite small so you will have to shuffle around getting and waiting for your order. There isn't really anywhere to sit, just to-go. If you have more than 1 or 2 people the others may want to wait outside. In the summer, they have a little window they open so they can hand you your food that way to free up some space inside. Parking is metered and fairly plentiful before 10am but gets more and more sparse after that. The prices seem fair- I usually spend about $6something for two bagels with cream cheese. read more

This place was a big disappointment - it needs new management. My wife and I arrived at 11am on a Sunday; the place was not very busy. We waited 15 minutes for 2 subpar bagel sandwiches despite there being at least half a dozen workers arranged in an assembly line. The bagels were not fresh, even though this was peak time on a Sunday. My lox sandwich had a pathetically small amount of lox (picture added), unripe tomatoes even though it is prime season, and fell apart after one bite because it was poorly constructed, being overstuffed with bland vegetables. The cream cheese was not spread evenly, and was pretty cold and stale. The worker who took our order did not offer us the option of toasting our bagels. 5 minutes after ordering, my wife asked if the bagels could be toasted, and they told us it was too late. We figured that meant our sandwiches were almost ready, but we waited 10 more minutes, so clearly they hadn't even started our order. Toasting and/or fresher, warmer bagels could've helped the stale cream cheese situation immensely. The layout of the store also speaks to how poorly managed this operation is: you walk to the back to order, they give you a receipt, you walk to the front and pay, and then you wait, all the while bumping into other patrons coming in and out of the store. I think the idea is that you order at the back, and by the time you've paid at the front, your order has gone through the assembly line and it's ready - their execution is not (yet) at that level. The manager needs to step in. For a city that loves food, Chicago does bagels and bagel-operations very poorly. A business-minded person could visit one of dozens of smaller operations in New York and take a cue. read more

Love this place, my husband and I walk here with our dog every weekend to grab a tub of chive cream cheese and a bunch of bagels for the week. Insanely amazing Everything bagels! The seasoning looks like it includes fennel, not just the typical poppy/sesame seeds/onion/garlic/salt, which I adore. Sometimes we split a Hot Doug's atomic sandwich, which is also insane. Getting bulk bagels and cream cheese definitely helps from a price standpoint. Worth every penny! read more

We stopped at Brobagel this morning on our way out of town. Allowed ourselves 30 minutes thinking we would use maybe 1/3 of that time. Boy were we mistaken. We ordered two coffees and two bagels (not toasted) with cream cheese. Nothing extra, nothing fancy, literally (used correctly) Brobagel's core competency. 30 minutes later our bagels were finally cut and schmeared. While they were delicious, the wait time while watching 8 people work slowly and joke while completing their tasks (including 3 of them working the register) will make me think twice before frequenting Brobagel anytime in the near future. I would encourage management to think of a way to optimize the food preparation process in which perhaps at least one of the 8 people working can prepare bagels and orders that should take less than 1 minute while the rest make the breakfast sandwiches and other tasks that seemed to take forever. read more

nice neighborhood bagel place. have driven by many times (it's on north ave. at a corner) so monday, noticing an empty place to park and grab some bagels, in i went. ordered the bakers dozen (yes: that's 13 bagels) to go and some plain jane cream cheese. also a metropolis coffee. cool flavor of bagel available (although not named; i had to ask.). it was rosemary and back at home, toasted it. it was a great balance of crust and chew; and the plain jane cream cheese with it was perfect. next time will check out the sriracha cream cheese. :) the bagels are fresh and a decent size for a chicago bagel. coffee was meh; my first coffee that morning at olivia's was outstanding. really good and prompt service (this was a monday; weekends are probably a different story) but i will go back and test a sandwich on another visit. read more

I will say that I went in literally minutes after their first day, but the ordering process was very frustrating. Again, I am sure this is just opening day jitters, and I will definitely be back. Quick note, you should really consider having utensils for "to go" orders - I ordered several bagels and spreads and had to ask for a knife - and got 1 knife/fork/napkin packet.
