Four stars We got the bacon Mac n cheese, fries with aioli and ranch as well as the old school burger. Burger was phenomenal! Menu was ample. I was disappointed in the Mac n cheese. The pasta was overcooked so it was mushy and the cheese was bland so it just tasted like bacon and mushy pasta. The garlic aioli was also underwhelming. It was watery and very mustard-y. A good aioli should be creamy and full of garlic flavor. However the house made ranch was to die for as well as the burger! Service was good as well so giving 4 stars. I had really high hopes coming back here because a few days earlier I came for brunch with a friend, and everything was great. The biscuits and gravy were amazing, and the girl who helped us was so sweet. This time though, I came with my husband and my three girls (ages 12, 6, and 2), and the experience was completely different. The Caucasian lady who was working near the bar was VERY rude. I'm not sure if she actually worked at the bar or was just going back and forth, but she acted like she owned the place. When we arrived, the hostess told us there would be about a 25-minute wait, so I asked if we could sit at the big table to the left. Once we sat down, it took forever for anyone to acknowledge us. It honestly felt like the servers were more focused on the Caucasian men sitting on the other side than on helping us. When the food finally came out, most of it was fine, but my biscuits were stale like they had been sitting for a while. I decided to send them back for a fresh order, and that same rude lady came over to tell me they "put a fork in the biscuit and it seemed fine," so they were just sending the same ones back out. That really rubbed me the wrong way. If I sent them back, it was for a reason. Since when do they poke through food to "check" it instead of just making a new plate? She made it seem like I was lying or trying to get out of paying, which was never the case. I just wanted to enjoy what I ordered. Later on, I asked the hostess if we could move because the seat was hurting my baby's bottom. When the same lady noticed me talking to her, she walked right up and loudly asked, "What did she want?" instead of handling it quietly. It was embarrassing and unprofessional. To top it all off, when the check came, she added a 15% tip automatically for our table, even though it was just four of us and a baby. The bill ended up being over $100 for two grilled cheeses, a Philly cheesesteak, and biscuits and gravy that weren't even fresh. No one checked on us the whole time, and we had to flag down several servers just to get our check. Overall, I left really disappointed and honestly felt disrespected. If you're a person of color, I'd suggest maybe going across the street instead. read more

The service was slow, not the biggest issue because it was our first visit, but noticable for how quiet it was and we had to flag the waitress down to order. I ordered the poutine with no cheese and the chicken tacos. The poutine still came with shredded cheese on the gravy and the dish had definitely been sitting for a bit because parts of it were cold/lukewarm. The tortillas in the tacos ripped on the bottom from being lightly held - something I havent seen before - and both items weren't flavor balanced. I'd even call the chicken bland. We asked for the check early, which ended up working in our favor as we proceeded to wait a bit before she was able to stop by and charge us. We ordered: Pulled Pork Banh Mi Sandwich (3 Stars) The pork was tender, but had a sweet bbq flavor. They seem to use the same pulled pork on the pull pork sandwich, on the Banh Mi. They need to add some Vietnamese flavors to pork to make worth it. The rest of the sandwich was good, the pickled daikon and carrot salad, jalapeno and the bread. Finally tried this place after wanting to come for a few years. We came on a Saturday so it was pretty busy which we expected, but the inside was smaller than we thought it would be. We wanted brunch but ended up getting burgers once we saw the pictures. My friend got the gold rush burger and I tried the pb and j burger with sides of ranch and fries. My friend said the burger was lacking flavor and couldn't taste the Mac and cheese that was on it. I had a piece and I agreed. My burger tasted better in my opinion but the peanut butter over powered any other flavor. I'm thinking if it was just a little less of the peanut butter or a bit more of the jelly then it would've tasted way better. The proportion was perfect and the lettuce/salsa topping was a perfect balance to the fried tender. I love a good crab cake, but this is the only thing that didn't wow me. It was large but lack luster. Not much crab flavor and the sauce didn't balance out. They won me back over with the BBQ chicken salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and every item in the bowl was fresh down to the crispy lettuce. The dressing was made in house and so good I asked for some to go. Hubby enjoyed his burger and said it was juicy and crisp around the edges. The bun was nice and fluffy. The fries were good, but we would order without the BuhnMi next time. Had lunch there a couple of days ago with my daughter and her baby. We were able to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. I ordered one of the burgers and my daughter ordered the chicken wings, which were massive!! The food was great, but I have to say that the highlight of the lunch was our server, Justin R. The staff was super friendly and quick to take our orders and check in on us. They had special deals on food prices for the occasion. They had a lot of interesting-sounding burgers, but alas, I only have space for 1 burger, so I went with the duck burger because of the cheese skirt. We also shared the garlic fries and sliders, which were DELICIOUS. The garlic fries are nice and greasy - a must get! The duck burger meat was juicy, but I thought the cheese skirt was okay! I've had better, cheesier cheese skirts at other places like Squeeze Burger. Overall, Broderick is a solid spot if you're looking for unique burgers! Cheese curds were all right, tasted almost like mozzarella cheesesticks. Nothing special. Bacon Mac and cheese was charred and I didn't think it was that good either. Buffalo wings were good, each piece was technically two wings (came w the flat and the drumstick). Dips we got were bleau cheese and ranch which tasted really similar. Bleau cheese was surprisingly not strong and would use as a dip again! Burger was really good too, I didn't think I could taste the BBQ sauce on it that much. Pickled peppers were good but I ended up removing it later just cuz I got tired of it. I don't think the burger is that great for the price but I'd go if the opportunity comes. The garlic fries used a glaze so it was more wet than traditional garlic fries, which was reallyyy good. As a leftover though it didn't do very well cuz the garlic taste wore off when we air fried it. Oreo milkshake was REALLY GOOD. Same level as jack in the box... or maybe better? Broderick is just a fantastic place to get a bite and grab a drink. Their drink menu is solid and they are known for their boozy shakes that are....well...boozy delicious. The Mudslide is my favorite but there are a number to choose from. The beer menu is extensive. The hot white russian is a strong recommend, especially as winter approaches. So, my friend has eaten there many times but this was my first food experience and Broderick known for their burgers. I immediately gravitated to the Duck Burger. Wow...just wow. I love duck but the look of the burger is fantastic with a hash brown like cheese layer under the top bun. They serve the burger with a steak knife because it's big but I had to at least start with eating it as a burger should be eaten - grab with both hands and go for it. I took a great white shark approach and attacked it. It was fantastic. Just a wonderfully different burger to taste. The fries were crispy and tasty. My friend had a Rueben, substituting sourdough bread for the normal bun. I think that was a good move - better meat to bread ratio. The sandwich had tons of meat. Her side salad was basically huge so between the beefy sandwich and huge salad, she got two full meals out of it. The vibe at Broderick is wonderful. There is inside and outside seating. I was in Walnut Creek running errands and craving a burger. After seeing so many good reviews I knew I had to stop by here - never again. There is street parking or if you do not mind a short walk, they have a number of parking garages. It was a Sunday afternoon and there were a good amount of people eating there but they were able to seat us right away. They had a very large burger selection which I do appreciate. - Paloma - good flavor and you could taste the alcohol - Lamb burger - flavor was actually pretty bland - Banh Mi Fries - I upgraded my normal fries based on the recommendations and have to say the fries did not disappoint. The portions are very big. There is tons of flavor and meat. The reason for only 3/5? Lamb burger - very bland for $20 Once we got our food our waitress was no where to be found. We observed other table being served, cashed out and bussed before we saw ours. Ended up having to find my own to go boxes and had to track down another waitress to close out. The flavor and profile of the meal translated to what I can only compare to a slightly elevated fast food experience. The flavor combinations and complexity the menu is trying to convey is translated as muddy and underwhelming and overall, a grossly greasy, subpar experience. Greetings, Today, me and my girls Val and Jess went to Brodericks in Walnut Creek. Even though they serve breakfast and lunch we chose lunch and we all ordered burgers. I had the duck burger and garlic fries because l really like duck and l wanted to give it a try. I ordered it medium well so it wouldn't be over cooked and l did not want to see any red meat. And let me tell you it was really good! It came with a cheese skirt around it, well that's what l call it but in order to get to my burger l had to break of the cheese which was fine and l ate it along with my food. I ordered the garlic fries as well and when they brought me my food, l was a bit surprised because they hade a drizzled type garlic sauce over them, which was definitely different and l had to eat them with a fork because they made my finges sticky. Fries are normally a finger food for me but hey, whatever! they were good too. My choice of cocktail was a house Margarita with a shot of Patron. I was going to have a second cocktail but l changed my mind however, l did get a slice of the bread pudding to go to have with the other half of my burger and fries for dinner tonight. I really like Brodericks, so did my friends and the next time l go back l would like to try something from the breakfast menu.
