Cool concept. Hype is way too high. I could melt a beef and chicken bullion in some water and achieve a similar taste for a fraction of the price. I'm partially joking, but not really. The broth was good, but $9 for a large cup is just nonsense. A bowl of ramen for a similar price is much more satisfying and just as tasty if not better. Sorry Hearth. Come back down to earth. Just because you consider it artisanal, doesn't mean you should charge an arm and a leg for it. PASS. read more

Too bad there is no zero star rating. My first and last trip to Brodo today. 12blocks each way. I bought 16 ounces. It started to leak right away, I was lucky to catch it as the bottom of the paper bag was wet and broke. I came home with 11 ounces of my broth. Very cheap container and cover meant for immediate consumption not to carry home. read more

Just amazing... if you like broth. I know bone broth has some serious haters out there, which I don't begin to understand. I see a lot of complaints about the price and some reasonable doubts that this stuff is the magical elixir of health and happiness that it's sometimes portrayed as. A cup of Brodo broth is not cheap, but when you consider the ingredients and the amount of time it takes to produce a real bone broth, it's really not out of line. So, I don't think a daily cup of broth is going to heal whatever it is that ails you, BUT... it's yummy. I pick a lot of my meals based on yummyness so I find that a good enough reason to stop by this window whenever I am in the area. And sometimes when I'm not, and I just need a dose of beefy salty warmth. My favorite is the beef broth with bone marrow added. The marrow melts and just adds some more flavor (yes, and fat!). The staff here have always been friendly and helpful, even the time I came back and reported my last jar of take-away broth had a huge crack in it and could I please have a replacement. I make bone broth at home quite a bit but mine has never come close to the flavor Brodo manages. So, it's pretty simple. If you like broth, you'll love it. If you think broth is stupid, you'll hate it. Obviously, I'm in the first camp... five stars. read more

i had a cup of the beef broth and i could definitely taste the ginger it was yummy but they have raised the prices. For the smallest cup it was $7...I saw it used to be $4.50 so I feel like that's a big price hike. read more

Brodo is a big city take on a long standing country founded nourishment. Even Kobe Bryant is touting it. It fights the colds and also fights your cold so it's a double threat beverage (certainly a nice alternative to chamomile - vegans beware). The value is there as making a cup of this stuff probably takes a day in the kitch. read more

Great for when you want this particular item, for when you're sick, etc. and on cold fall and winter days. Nice add in options and healthy, good ingredients. The pricing is a bit absurd and should be adjusted. I don't go there often mostly because it's so expensive for broth. read more

A life saver when you've run out of homemade chicken stock and feeling sick as a dog, which was me last week. I bought all three broths and added turmeric. Though I did find it saltier than I like (I barely add any sea salt to my homemade stock) the richness, dark color and comfort this bone broth provided was such a gift. Good broth, I tried the Hearth Bone Broth. Was very useful in breaking a week long fruit fast.

I think it's so awesome that this place serves bone broth- one of the healthiest foods you can treat yourself to (it's wonderfully nutritious and heals your gut). It's also kind of neat that it's served out of a window in coffee cup (many people suggest drinking broth in the morning instead of coffee to truly start your day off right). I tried the small grass-fed beef with ginger broth and I thought it was okay. I added turmeric to it as well. I think I was thrown by the ginger/turmeric flavors since it's so different from simple beef broth I usually make. It wasn't bad- just different. My boyfriend got a large a gulped his down as fast as he could. The next broth I'll try will be their signature blend of chicken, turkey and beef. Perfect for a freezing cold day! read more

Brodo! Love this place. I take any opportunity to swing by and get my yummy bone broth! I'm usually there every Sunday to pick up my frozen jars of deliciousness. And of course I must get some to sip on my drive home. It's healthy for you and the add-ins makes it that much sweeter! You guys rock! My only compliant is the to-go cups. Please look into getting stronger, more sturdier cups. Mine always spills and the top doesn't stay on. I have burnt my hand! However-what's more disappointing us wasting a drop of this goodness!! They only have three types of soup. The chef was so welcomed that he gave us samples of each type of soup to taste before we made choices. Two of the soups are beef bones and the other is chicken. We chose the chicken one because it is not as heavy flavor as the other two. read more

I've been coming here for a few months - and am never disappointed. If you're looking for soup, it's not soup! Very similar to things you find in Korea - and absolutely delicious.
