Great little place with super tasty food and good prices. We tried a little bit of everything: -Italian breakfast (3 italian sausages with the some of the best marinara sauce I've had) and 3 eggs -Short stack of french toast (looked like Texas toast, very tasty) -Coffee -Steak & eggs (big piece of steak for $9) The toast & french toast both came with margarine on it so I'll be sure to ask for butter instead next time, that's my only (and minor) drawback. Really disappointed in how we were greeted. This was our first time coming here. We walked into the diner and there was a family standing on the right side of us. So we moved and stood on the left a bit ahead of them so we weren't in their way as the entry way is small and door was getting crowded. The cook (out of all people) made it a point to yell at us and say "these people here are in front of you and you can stand outside." We politely said yes we know and told him that we moved to the side because there was no room. We ended up leaving as we didn't feel comfortable or welcomed. Also the cook was cooking eggs, meat, and the home fries on the same stove. So if you are vegetarian make sure you tell them to use a separate stove. We will not be coming back here. Hopefully management can help the cook learn better customer service. read more

What can I say about Brody's... Eh or just cringing springs to mind. Honestly I've eaten at gas stations with better food. No I get it, its Grafton there is not a plethora of options like Worcester. but lets be real I rather go to Star Donut because they'd give me the same but better quality and for LESS or even Harry's all the way in Westborough than go back to this "restaurant". i have eaten here twice (yes i gave it another chance) this place is the greasiest of greasy spoons. and where it would be worth the calories (and sickness) most of the fried food is flavorless devoid of any actual pleasure you would get ingesting it. whether its the corned beef hash or even the bacon everything is coated in a pound of grease. although if you had more than one grill going that might solve the problems seriously people when i walked in it was like i could have struck a match and that place would have gone up in seconds. but i will give it some redeeming qualities I am nothing if not fair. the wait staff is speedy helpful and all around pleasant and courteous. well when they can be around. It seems once you have you food its like they turn into ghosts but hey at least the lines aren't THAT. long lord knows i wont be standing in the cold heat or rain to eat here ever again. read more

Classic Truck Stop diner. Went there with Aziz Ansari on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. Rye toast has just the right amount of seeds. I counted them. Not too many, not too little. They even have a gluten free menu if you like free gluten. Bright and clean. (That was me and Aziz; not this place) Really big coffee cups, red hats, scripty font on menus. Very homey. This was the WORST food I have ever been served in my entire life. The place always looks packed and the inside seemed promising, but I have never been so let down. I could only choke down one bite of my food; it literally made me gag. The ingredients were likely week old left overs from a better place and I cannot repeat enough how disgusting the food was. I would rather eat out of a dumpster at any other restaurant than go back here! I hate to say this but this place is terrible! The inside is nice, sunny and big but once you get served the food you will start wishing you had stopped some place else! The eggs were over-cooked (how can you screw up eggs?!), toast cold, hash browns just terrible, omlettes extremely BLAND and plus it took nearly an HOUR for the food to come! The waitress's idea of cleaning the table top is swooshing the debris around and then having it fall onto the floor. Just terrible! Limited menu, even for a diner. However, the coffee is pretty strong and the service is fast. The food is pretty standard for a diner. Greasy, large portions, lots of toast. The menu includes an "Italian Breakfast" which is just eggs, homefries, white toast, and Italian sausage in marinara. It sounds weird, but I thought the combo worked. read more

Not a fan, on the day I was there the placed seemed mismanaged. Sat down quickly but then waited 10 minutes for someone to wipe table and get drinks. The food was REALLY greasy and even the home fries had chunks of bacon in it. Bad service, greasy food, dirty......not my kind of place. read more

As far as diners go, this is a good one. I've eaten here 8-10 times. Good pancakes, eggs, and most breakfasts in general. Bacon could use a little help sometimes; extra grease/not entirely cooked. The best place to grab breakfast in Shrewsbury!! I've been here several times now and can vouch for it's authenticity in serving up top quality greasy (and not so greasy) spoon breakfast fare. Pancakes are humungous, the size of a whole dinner plate and melt in your mouth. The eggs benedict was really good even though when I had it, they used what looked like sliced deli ham instead of canadian bacon. Maybe I was mistaken. Their sausage links were fresh tasting and eggs cooked over easy were perfectly done. Atmosphere is non-pretentious and very welcoming with fresh flowers everywhere and the staff is super friendly and always smiling. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone living in or passing through the area. read more

We have had a hard time finding a go to breakfast place since moving to the area a few years ago. We tried this place today and contrary to previous reviews thought this was a great place for kids. Our 4 year old loved the French toast and she even chatted with the awesome owner who offered her a job. The waitress was quick and friendly and seemed to love her job. Food was awesome. I judge a diner on a couple things. Their sausage, English muffins, hash and home fries. All were AWESOME! This is now our go to place. read more

Second time my wife and I have been here and again did not disappoint. I had Greek omelet with homefries and rye toast. Colleen had English with bacon and a buttermilk pancake. Pulled up on Sunday at 1:20 pm to have lunch. Didn't even make it to the front door, and a man poked his head out the door and gave us the hand across the throat, don't come in gesture. I can't vouch for the food because we didn't get a chance to try it. According to the website, they were supposed to be open until 2. There were about 10 cars in the parking lot and people inside eating. It's not like we pulled up 5 minutes before they were about to close. Very disappointing. Had lunch at Brody's ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and mayo with onions rings. The burger was cooked perfect and tasted great and the onions rings were awesome! Nice atmosphere too. read more

Counter-seating is tight, with the stools so close to the counter that anyone over 5' is going to have to sit awkwardly. The pancakes are large but pale, doughy and unevenly cooked. The eggs and bacon were cooked to order and standard fare, though the toast was bunt. The home fries were surprisingly good though, using large pieces of red bliss, green pepper, onions and corn beef hash. The waitstaff was hard to get a hold of, and though the diner was only half-full when I arrived, it took a while for someone to come over. As is true in most places, regular customers were given preferential treatment. The atmosphere is nice, floors, equipment, counters and restrooms were clean. I've lived near Brody's for years but never paid to much attention to it until Seinfeld did his "Comedians in Cars" episode there. I have now gone there a couple of times with my wife and I have to say it's really good. It's not too expensive, the food is great, and the portions are huge. Irish Eggs Benedict both of the eggs were over cooked not runny at all (not good) one of my pet peeves. The corned beef hash was from a can. The waitress claimed they doctor it up, but I could see no evidence of that. The English muffin was soaked from the moister of the corned beef. The hollandaise sauce was from a package. Had virtually no taste. Ordered the home fries well done and they weren't even browned at all. The only shining glimpse of hope was our waitress. She was trying her best. read more

If you have any standards whatsoever prepare to be disappointed. Simply overrated. Food is good but be prepared to spend the rest of your day in the bathroom as 90% of the food is frozen and cooked on an dirty dripping grille. Tiny place and mostly crowded by their regulars. Staff has been the same for years with no attention to detail. Everything is as dirty as it gets, from the mugs to the silverware and the staff could care less. First time going to Brody's diner. The buffalo chicken omelet was delicious cheesy goodness. I split an awesome pancake with my wife and took half the omelet home with me. The food all around was great. The coffee was quality too. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well, the three stooge's pictures are a nice touch. I've had a few lovely breakfasts here while visiting my college friends on the east coast. I would highly recommend the greek omelette, it's delicious and very filling. Also, the onion rings are home made and crisp and delicious. The facility is really clean and bright and has a quaint counter area and very friendly staff. This was my first time in this place and I was very disappointed. I don't understand how it has 4.4 stars. The food was not fresh and tasted disgusting and old. They just threw everything in one plate, very messy. The bacon was burnt, the home fries were old and were cut in big chunks. The service was not soo good either. The waitress was okay. Sometimes she was a little rude and just threw the food on the table. Overall, I did not like this Diner and would not recommend it to anyone. I was really hoping for better food quality and service given that it's a family owned town restaurant. :/ read more

Really it's 2.5 stars. To keep it in perspective, a) we went on Mother's day when it was incredibly busy and b) this is a fairly typical truck stop predominantly breakfast joint. The portion was large but there is such a thing as quality over quantity. The portion was so large that the three eggs were stacked on top of each other like a heap of pancakes. The bacon was about 10 strips (i think) but it was a jumbled mass where they were all stuck together like in a giant buffet thats been sitting for a day. The egg whites on the eggs over easy where sort of a grayish brown color stained by the grill grease. All the food was cooked kind of uneven with one egg yolk runny but the others mostly solidified. Same was true for the home fries and toast.... A mix of crispy and yet of raw at the same time. To top it all off, by the time you eat your way to the bottom of the plate, there was a nice puddle of grease. Upon finishing, you suffer from diner's remorse realizing that this is why you (and most of the others in the place) are 40 lbs over weight. Making comparisons is a little easier, and if you are local and have a choice, the Edgemere Diner just down the same road is a world apart in all respects in terms of what a Breakfast should be. read more
