This is the second time we've tried this restaurant. We did not really plan to go back after the first time. Since it was 4th of July and we were waiting for the fireworks we had a lot of time to hang out. The wait here is always extremely long so we got on the list. Luckily we did not have to wait too long for a table and we were sat down and greeted by a very nice server. We ordered drinks and wings and the carnitas fries. The food was very good this time!! The wings were crispy and fresh and the sauce was very good; peach habanero. The carnitas fries were loaded and the meat was tender. The jalapeño was quite spicy. Our drinks were good, very strong but good. A bit pricey, but expected since it's a casino. We ordered the Carnita Fries- I'd recommend, BYOB Burger with brisket on top, tasted great and the Po boy shrimp, wife said it was ok. All three were fresh, came out hot and tasty. The service was ok- our server took our order quickly, was ok on the refills and ok on checking in on us. Great potential, terrible execution, massive service failures. Lots of beers on tap, but... We were here in May of 2024 and it was just terribly managed. Understaffed at night and in the morning. Very overpriced for obviously microwaved food. Bartenders are very slow and inattentive, and their attitudes vary, which is probably explained by the fact that the restaurant, kitchen, and bar were each understaffed both days were here. There are multiple restaurants and a food court, but your options are limited at certain times of day, unless you want to wait on valet to leave, or stand in a long coffee line in the food court, or wait until later in the day for nicer bars and restaurants to open. Summary: -Super long waits for a server and for drinks and food, even when the place is 1/3 full -Complacent, uncaring attitudes -Expensive for what it is. -Restaurant subbed unseasoned boiled chicken on my sandwich and didn't even tell me. -I was open to giving the place a second try in the late morning, due to long lines at the food court coffee, but the same problems persisted, and I had to just pay cash for my coffee, and having to wait 10+ minutes for anyone to come by, even though I was trying to get someone's attention, and being told they didn't even know when they could get me food (never mind whether it was breakfast or lunch menu, which I had asked.) -Basically from the outside it looks like it might be a nice experience, but you will wish you just went somewhere else. *I am a former server, bartender, and bellman, so I try to give people in the service industry the benefit of the doubt, but this was beyond what should acceptable and there's strong evidence that the service people I met were not being supported by capable and involved management. read more

We came in for lunch while waiting for our turn to zipline. It was pretty empty on a weekday, we enjoyed the mix of music. I had the lobster fish and chips, and my husband had the carnitas. I thought I would absolutely love the lobster fish and chips, and was so excited about it, but they were just ok. It was hard to dip the long stick into the little butter bowl too. Both the lobster and the batter could have better. My husband's carnitas were enormous, and had way too much cheesy sauce on them. Just huge for an appetizer! Service was lacking, even though it was slow, we were only checked on once, and the server forgot to bring our tea back :( They do have an huge selection of beer on tap, which is nice! These guys never disappoint. The beer selection is HUGE. The food is quite nice as well. We had the carnitas fries and they were impeccably good. Service was spectacular. We actually went twice during our visit. Sat once at the bar and that was a great experience. Sat once at a table, and despite the hideous, nasty people that were sitting next to us, our server was spectacular. She took care of them to an unbelievable degree, despite their negativity and obvious want of a comped meal (if you can't afford the steak pal, buy hamburger). The menu honestly wasn't really exciting, They have way more beers than food selections, so I ordered the carnitas fries. I was happy I wasn't trying to be too fancy with the menu because this thing was the unexpected plate of redemption for the restaurant. We won't be coming back here and are now hesitant to try any other restaurants at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Food is good pub fare. Great selection of beers, also. This is what irked me. I asked for a meal to go, because I was tired from being in the casino all day. They said we don't do to-go food anymore. So, I sat at a table. Ordered a hamburger and a to-go box and that was just fine. To-go, the long way... Why make people sit at a table and go through the motions for NO reason? It was kind of silly. The burger was good though and the waffle fries good too. For bar food late at night they do a good job. The actual bar top is big and spacious and pretty at night. I wish they would expand the menu a little bit. It's extremely limited right now. Maybe that's a supply issue -- I don't know. Overall, pretty decent for a casino bar pub.
