Being from Texas I'm definitely hard to please when it comes to BBQ. That being said, Broken Bones hasnt done a half bad job! The meat is always tender and delicious, not too fatty but just enough. The hickory bbq sauce is the way to go in my opinion as its closer to a good Texas sauce, but to each his own on that! Lol read more

I attended a wedding yesterday, and Broken Bones BBQ provided the food for the reception. Loved the pork and chicken! I am a smoke freak, and there was real serious smoke in the meats! My companion thought the potato salad didn't have much flavor, but I loved it! Really nice and chunky. Several types of BBQ sauce were available. They were all great, but watch out for the spicy one! Absolutely the WORST food ever! We are remodeling so have no kitchen or microwave, hence ordered delivery from a restaurant within less than a 5-minute drive. The pulled pork was literally cold like just taken out of the refrigerator - and dry - not edible! The 2 ribs were lukewarm and so dry not edible! The TX toast was cold, limp, burnt on one side and no butter, salt, garlic or any flavoring, none in the bag or offered on the menu. The fries were limp with no salt and no ketchup in the bag or offered on the menu. The coleslaw is bland! The potato salad is bland with only the flavor of occasional pepper. This meal was ALL just thrown in the trash!!!!!! The cherry cobbler was half frozen and has freezer burn smell and taste! We will NEVER order here again! AWFUL! This was the 1st and LAST time we will try this restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do NOT waste your time or money!!!! Just spoke to the 'manager' and the comment was "I will definitely pass that on to the owner". This place does not even deserve one star!!!!!!!!! This place is a poor excuse for BBQ!!! The line was out the door at Rudy's so we decided to try something new, which was a bad decision. The brisket was tough and not cut correctly. The ribs were also tough and the pulled pork was terrible. I don't think I've ever left BBQ on my plate but I couldn't bring myself to finish the meat. In addition to the terrible food, they completely ran out of ice in their fountain drink machine. We used to love this restaurant in Monument. Ordered to go tonight. Brisket was cold. French fries were limp and greasy. They didn't have chicken on the menu anymore. My husband and I wanted to try something new so we headed over to check this place out. First off, it's in a terrible location right next to the laundromat and parking is annoying. Next we get out of the car to check out a menu taped to the front window to see if there is anything interesting looking. Not 2 seconds later a guy (the owner?) comes barging outside telling us "you have 30 seconds to decide on what you want....we close at 8pm". Oh.....ok.....I'm sorry....let me squint and hunt around for the tiny hours sign....or how about you turn the open sign off if you don't want to be annoyed by those pesky paying customers. That right there almost put me off considering we were just LOOKING at the menu but we decided to go ahead inside. He rushes up to the register and snarls "by the way, this will be to go." Um....okay? Strike 2. My husband orders a sausage sandwich and while we wait for them to make it I notice a family inside finishing up their dinner. One of them tells our super friendly guy how good their meal was. He shrugs them off by grunting something I didn't catch and continues to madly race around the room collecting ketchup bottles. A younger girl tries to fill up her drink with ice and the drink machine is out. She mentions this to the guy and he makes a big show of acting annoyed that he has to dump a bucket of ice in the machine for his paying customers. Finally our food is up, He then takes our card and runs it and then tells us we can leave a tip on the line. Seriously? You behave like that and then expect a tip? Riiiiiiiight. I don't think so. As he hands us our food, we are told they are out of the usual buns but he will give us two small ones to make it up. He shouldn't have bothered. When we got home the bread was stale and there were 3 little chunks of sausage in the whole sandwich. We also got a tiny little cup of some of the worst tasting sauce I have ever had. On top of that the fries tasted like the kind you can get out of walmarts freezer.....not even fresh cut potatoes....how hard is it to slice up a potato and make fries??? The BBQ sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle as well. If you have ever had real BBQ from the south...STAY AWAY from this dive. If you don't mind being treated like crap and paying 9 bucks for below subpar food and horrible service then by all means, toss your hard earned money away. My guess is this place will be closed down within the year, hopefully a REAL BBQ restaurant will take its place. read more

This was our first time eating here. The food was delicious. I had the Brisket Sandwich. The brisket was moist with a firm smoke to it. The spicy sauce was tasty with low heat. My wife had the sampler with brisket, pulled pork, and turkey. All were very good. The turkey was very moist with a nice smoke too it. We have heard about this place and have always meant to go and it took our school doing a spirit night aka the busiest night ever, but the service was impeccable and though it was intensely busy, I was treated so well and the stress of the staff didn't show. And it smelled amazing, I got the Linebacker sandwich and a meat platter for the fam. The beans were perfect and not cliche. The smoked turkey was the family fav, but the brisket and pulled pork were also some of the best we have ever had. Verdict? Tons of meat, really moist and fell off the bone. I got the sweet sauce, though. And that was not good. It tasted like it had cinnamon in it, and too much. The pulled pork was pretty good, moist and tender. It didn't have much burnt ends to it, though. And I like that part. Also, the lb of pulled pork didn't come with bread or rolls. That's weird. The potato salad is super bland. I say a lot of things are bland, but our whole family agreed it had zero taste. The baked beans were also very bland. But overall it was pretty good. We tried the three meat plate with 2 sides and got a link of jalapeño cheddar sausage. It was plenty of food for three. We liked the pulled pork the best. It had a great smoky flavor. The smoked turkey was very moist and had good flavor. The brisket was very tender but not as flavorful. The smoked sausage was SO good. We loved the baked beans. They had a rich smoky flavor. The sweet potato fries were okay, not as crispy as we would have liked. They had 4 different types of homemade BBQ sauce and a BBQ mustard sauce that complemented the smoked turkey breast.
