The food is excellent but the service needs serious improvement. This is the second time I have been there and both times received the wrong order. Tonight if there was 1/3 lb of turkey I would be shocked, turned out to be 2 small pieces. The brisket amount was correct but twice what we received in turkey. Also I ordered 2 sides of potato salad and received 2 sides of close slaw which was bland. Staff was more interested in their on going personal and complaint conversation than in actually getting our order right. The food there is pretty good, and priced reasonably. The restaurant is a little hard to find because it is in the corner of the shopping center and doesn't have a very good sign. Once you're inside, the place is small but clean and the staff is friendly. The food is very good for the price. Normally barbecue is overpriced, but their pricing is OK. My problem with the place that all EMPLOYEES ARE FORCED TO GIVE UP ALL TIPS TO THE OWNER because he legally pays the bare minimum wage - bare minimum! DO NOT TIP YOUR SERVER HERE! I know that sounds harsh, but if you choose to tip them, then you are simply choosing to pay more for meal than you have to. If you do tip them on the sly, then they are risking being fired for theft, so as harsh as it sounds, just don't tip the servers here. Actually, until this policy changes, I'd just avoid the place and instead take your business to someone who treats their employees better. Don't be fooled by the odd name of the place. We had some of the best brisket ever! In addition, the sweet potato fries, fried okra, and coleslaw were amazing! We asked about the origin of the strange name; the business had been recently purchased, and no one seemed to know where the name came from. Been here to pick up meat quite a few times now. Have to say the beef brisket and sausage are my favorite meats here. Brisket is usually very moist, but sometimes it comes out pretty dry. But my favorite item on their menu is the onion rings! Best onion rings I've ever had! They come out with some amazing crisp to them. No other place has onion rings like this! read more

Best to-go barbecue I've had in awhile! They also do military discount.I was driving up to the Air Force Base and thought I would make a pit-stop. Best Decision Ever. Walked in ten minutes to close and ordered the small combo, brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese and sweet tea . It took about five minutes for the food to come out, which was nice if you're in a hurry. The Brisket was lovely, meat tender and juicy, I used their mustard barbecue and sweet barbecue sauce delicious combination. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the Mac and cheese it was cold (probably sitting out) last of the batch. If my Mac was melted and hot I would have rated five stars for sure. My Wife and I just found this place. Hard to find, but was totally worth it. They're prices are super reasonable and the quality isn't lacking anything at all. The only negative I can say is, sometimes it takes a bit longer than you would hope to get your food. The turkey was a little under smoked for my taste, and the baked beans were super flavorful. My girlfriend really enjoyed the pulled pork, and she really liked the hand breading on the onion rings! O.M.G !!! the coleslaw is the best I have ever had i would give the $$$$ for the secret recipe. I got the brisket sandwich with mustard bbq. The bun was so moist and light it tastes like it floated down from heaven. The girl taking my order (blonde) super friendly and she makes beard oil !!! she made me feel human even though I look like a hobbit with my beard and lack of hair cut. I work at a major company in monument. I called in a to go order. Arrived at the time I told them I would be there. They called my name as soon as I walked in and I told them I still had to pay. Stood in line for 15 minutes with only one customer ahead of me. They were picking up a catering order that was not ready yet. I had the company uniform on so they know we have a limited time for lunch. Guess they don't care. My order was now cold and I had almost no time to eat. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Horrible service. Sorry we made the drive from Castle Rock to check this place out. Extremely poor service at the register. Thought I was ordering a chicken breast sandwich and no one corrected me and out came a chicken breast...when I questioned what I had ordered I was offered a bun for my chicken breast with bone - wtf?! I ordered with a side of their spicy tots and my bad, I should have questioned what spicy meant because they were not what I was expecting either - essentially a potato version of jalapeño poppers...my basket went straight to the garbage. After I received my food, I did realize I misread the menu thinking a chicken breast SANDWICH was an offering, but I did ask questions such as did the SANDWICH come plain? Well I think they have tasty BBQ here, but the quality and quantity is extremely inconsistent to the point that I'm not sure I'll bother eating there again. I ordered food to go for my family. When I got home I looked at the tiny little cup of coleslaw that was my regular size side and thought you have to be kidding. I decided to weigh it. My supposed 6 ounce side came in at a whopping 2.2 ounces. Wow! Easy on the portions! I think they took the same approach with their BBQ sauces. The little cups were only filled 1/3 to 1/2 full of sauce. One barely 1/2 filled cup wasn't enough to even attempt to moisten the pulled pork, but I didn't have another one because they only gave us two cups of original sauce for our family of four. I've raved about Broken Bones in the past, but I'm not sure I'll ever go back after this experience. read more

Not sure what others are eating but this place is not good, dickies is.better. we had their ribs, pork and brisket with beans and coleslaw. First off none of the meat had a smoke ring or anything resembling a ring. One rib had cold spots and dry with some seasoning, the pork had no flavor and tasted like it was cooked last week. The brisket was dry, no flavor and way over cooked. The beans tasted like it was canned beans with little other improvements. The coleslaw was over peppered and other than that bland. I have had lots of bbq as I am a bbq competition judge.I know that this is not competition but the bbq needs flavor. The service was slow, we had one three meat plate and others that came in 5 minutes after us received their food first. The counter person was very friendly and helpful. Excellent Q! I've had the ribs, the brisket and the pulled pork, and they've all been delicious. Real Q with a real smoke ring to tell you it's actually been in a smoker. They made their own sauces, which are all very good, and their own sides, which are all very good. My favorite BBQ. Everything is good, but brisket and coleslaw are my favorite. If franks wife makes desert, get it, if its bread pudding then get an extra for the road. Just can not beat family owned BBQ where they smoke it on the grill out back. Ribs are thick baby backs, not scrawny crock pot ribs the serve other places.
