The food is only decent on a good day. The real issue is that they can't get your order correct. Twice I ordered via door dash, the first time they sent me someone else's order, the second time they only sent 1/2 of my order. Both times they refused to make it right unless I drove to them. They claimed they were too busy to send me a new order or refund my money. Save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

As far as bbq goes, Dickey's is ... just ok. Sort of dry, not the greatest cuts of meat (lots of those "chewy" pieces). Sides are decent however, especially the potato salad. Bread square that they give you with a platter meal ... just not sure why they even bother? It's thick and chewy and gross, like a hunk of paper in your mouth. Better off offering up the choice of one of their sandwich rolls to go along with your platter? The 3 Sauces are good, especially the spicy one -- maybe they should offer a mustard base sauce too? The free soft serve! Well there is a reason it's free, lol. Staff was the best feature, attentive, friendly and quick. Typically, Dickies is my go-to for brisket: reliably good. But this time, when I ordered a pound and a half (not cheap) , I received a box with a big wad of fat on the top of the order of brisket. Really. I discovered that the pound and a half was 30% indigestible fat. I felt cheated. I had no time to take this back after opening the box, but before serving the brisket to my family, I had to dispose of all the fat. First, the menu items on their chalkboard that were specials of the day did not have pricing. I felt rushed to order so I just chose one of the specials. I went to pay and was left with ONLY the option of 15, 20, 25 or 30% tip. There wasn't a No Tip option so I X'd out of the tip screen and the lady checking me out said "oh whoops, let me reset that" and put it back to the tip screen where I was forced to give the minimum tip of almost $7 for her doing nothing but ringing me up for my lunch. Had I not been there with my super generous BF, I would have argued that I did not want to pay a tip. Buyer beware. These people don't give you a choice on paying a tip. After receiving some marketing from their corporate office via text I went to their store and placed an order for my wife and I only to be told by their manager Isaac that I wasn't allowed to use the promotion in the store. Like I was somehow magically going to get the food delivered through my phone. I asked him how I was supposed to know that and I showed him the text, which he said, I don't give a shit what you think, then told me to get the hell out of his store. Pork was good but a little dry, brisket was phenomenal, and can't go wrong with the jalapeño cheddar sausages, but ordering anything in the food service industry has been garbage in the few years. To go order on Yelp/grubhub and no special requests, no bbq sauce provided, no napkins, incorrect sides that were paid extra for. This on top of having to wait an extra 20m for an order that was put in ahead of time... All I'm asking is that as your customer I receive what I paid for and on time for the schedule you asked me to define. Where's the diligence? Where's the regard for others? Why give choices when choices are disregarded? I would take it up with grubhub, but going through a 30m phone call to get a couple dollars back just isn't worth it. Beware online ordering from here. My husband and I ordered barbecue today for lunch on line. It was ready when we got there. They had a special houngan in two meat plate for $24 with two sides. I got a double order of brisket, bake beans & cabbage slaw and my husband got the Kielbasa sausage with pulled pork, bake beans and green beans. All the meat was tender and very tasty, however the only side that I cared for was the cabbage slaw. I did not care for the bake beans which I thought were very plain and so were the green beans. The next time I go there I will try the ribs and only get their meats which were delicious. Did not care for the sides we ordered. read more

We called to place a large order and the person we spoke with was rude. For instance, when we tried to repeat the order to make sure it was correct, he stopped us and said, 'I heard you the first time!' Then, when we were confirming the drop off time, we asked that it be a certain time because we would be busy. He responded, 'well, we are busy too!' He acted as if we were bugging him by sending lots of money his way. It left a bad taste in our mouth and reconsidering whether we should do future business with them. Closest thing you can get to Texas BBQ outside of Texas. Even the sweet tea is great. It's a tad on the expensive side. But the food is good so that is easily overlooked. The most disappointing BBQ of my 45 years on God's green earth. The 4 of us were so excited about brisket & fried okra, which has always been good at other Dickey's locations. We arrived an hour before closing yesterday, after ordering 4 meals online. The tall guy by the cash register had all the money laid out on the front counter (not something I would recommend). He told us we would have to sit outside, because he had already cleaned the inside tables. That wasn't a big deal, even though it was a selfish thing to say an hour before close. We eagerly awaited our food. It was the worst brisket of my lifetime. Much of it was scraps I don't even give to my dog. None of it was the sliced brisket we ordered. We were given ultra dry scraps, unsliced chunks, and big globs of fat. Two orders of fried okra were so salty none of us could eat them. I didn't say anything because I already experienced their ridiculous, entitled, sloppy attitudes, but I will NEVER go back. They are way overpriced anyway. read more

I know all Dickey's restaurants are franchised, and this one is the worst I have been to. The manager was incredibly rude to me, my mother and grandmother when we ordered kids meals. We don't eat much and the portions for the kids meals are perfect for us. When I ordered mine, he made a snide comment that I was too big for a kids meal. I wasn't sure if he was being passive aggressive about an adult ordering a kids meal or not. Turns out he was. After my mom and grandma placed their order, he said he'd let us have the kids meal this time, but next time we'd have to order a full meal. There certainly won't be a next time. It's appalling treatment. Other Dickey's restaurants have never had an issue with me ordering a kids meal. And competitor, Bird Dog BBQ, certainly has never made such remarks. I will not be returning and will not tolerate being badgered for opting for smaller meal sizes. I don't want a full meal and 2 sides - I barely finished the kids meal. read more

Garden of the Gods location = awful. Very large fur (or hair) ball in the Shredded Brisket Basket, restroom had no toilet paper and feces were smeared on the toilet seat, eating area freezing and they refused to close the front door the entire time. "Manager" tried to give us coupons but we returned them saying we would not be back, and promised a refund on my debit card. Waited almost a month - never happened. Later looked over receipt and noted many errors - including billing for chips when we each got different sides, etc. Wrote to corporate office with details - again, no reply. I get my drink, still tip by the way, and as im getting sauce and look and she literally walks behind me and sets the bag there, umm okay thanks... so then i walk out amazed at the experience when my bf calls, he is on his way home so i have to go back in, dear god, they acted as if i just told them they would be working all day on christmas, NO ONE ELSE IN THE PLACE! i order, then this time i go to pay and despite my previous order, i didnt need a drink, it would have been nice to know i was getting charged regardless! I lived in Texas for 12 years, so I've eaten a ton of barbecue all over the state. Most are average. Few are exceptional (they're very expensive and have extremely long lines). Where does the Dickey's chain fit into the spectrum? First of all, two 2-meat plates cost almost $30 with tax. Lunch better be good for that price, but unfortunately it was below average. Not much flavor and a bit dry. There was also very little meat on our plates, so it felt like a rip off. The only positives were the kids that worked there were very polite, and the restaurant was very clean. Bottom line is we will never go back. Sorry Dickey's but you're poorly representing your home state's bbq. read more

Horrid 'service' by Issac (the supposed) new manager at the Interquest Parkway location. When I went to order, he was very abrupt, brief & rude, with no time for me to ask questions (my friends were behind me, otherwise, there were no other customers in line, & it was right after the place had just opened for the morning). I put in my order with him. My older friends that I was with, noticed his bad behavior, & stated that "He treated you badly", in taking my order. My order was incorrect, & Issac once again acted very put out in order to correct it. As I was doing business with the cashier, Issac abruptly interfered for no apparent reason, & I replied that I did not want to deal with him, because he confused me. He replied "YOU confuse me, HONEY!" I did not want to endure anymore rudeness & unpleasantness from him in asking for a water cup, so I did without a drink, even tho the meal was spicy. As we were seated at the table, Issac quietly put two coupons on the table, but he did not apologize, nor say anything. It was a very extremely disappointing & unpleasant encounter, & it was difficult to visit our friends & enjoy the meal after that. To be treated so poorly, it was definitely a waste of money & a waste of time with such unacceptable service. read more

Sad to say that dickies is exploding everywhere and they are just filling management spots with people that don't understand customer service.
