We ordered the Salsiccia e Funghi, a sausage and mushroom pizza, along with the mussels in white wine sauce appetizer, homemade Italian cream sodas, and one additional limonata soda. The pizza was okay, but not the quality I would expect from a polished Neapolitan-style pizza place, especially at this price point. The mussels appetizer had potential because white wine sauce is exactly the kind of dish we usually enjoy with bread. Before ordering, I specifically asked about the bread because we like having enough to sop up the broth, the way you would expect at a good Italian restaurant. Our waitress said she would bring as much bread as we wanted. There were three of us, and the appetizer came with three pieces of bread. Given the earlier conversation, we later asked for three more pieces. The request seemed to bother her. When she delivered the extra bread, sensing her frustration, we said she could add it to the bill, and she told us she already had. That was frustrating because we had just discussed it before ordering. We were attempting to be more gracious, and she missed the mark with her response. She could have said ok, or thank you, or "no it's ok I told you could have as much bread as you wanted for the mussels" The mussels themselves were also uneven. Several had not opened during cooking, which is generally a sign that they should not be served or eaten. With mussels, the usual food-safety rule is: if they do not open during cooking, do not eat them. The FDA's consumer seafood guidance says clams, mussels, and oysters should open during cooking, and the ones that do not open should be thrown out. That made us question the quality control and preparation of the dish. The cream sodas were mixed. The berry version was delicious, but the mango version missed the mark. It was not sweet at all and tasted like the mango may not have been ripe. A little simple syrup, or ripe mango, would have helped a lot. The unripe mango soda ends up tasting a little like pine sol smells. We were also disappointed because the prices were more in line with what we would expect from a higher-quality meal. For the items noted above, plus one additional limonata soda, the meal came to over $60. I typically tip over 20%, but I took the extra bread charge off the tip, and the tip was still over 17%. Overall, this was not a terrible experience, but it was disappointing compared with what we were hoping for. The food had some good ideas, but several details felt off, and the service created a communication gap that left a bad impression.

Instead, they played an '80s music station while everyone watched one of the biggest sporting events in the world in silence. It felt like a missed opportunity. With a little more planning, the atmosphere could have been fantastic. As it stands, it's a fine place for food and drinks, but nothing particularly memorable.

I tried the jalapeño margarita, and while it wasn't my favorite (a little more lime-forward than I usually like), that's just personal taste, not a deal breaker at all. The food, the service, and the overall vibe were all on point. We'd absolutely come back, next time I might just switch up.

we arrived to the restaurant before they opened, and when they did open, they invited us to sit next to the fire as they had seen us waiting in the parking lot. as I walked in, I got stuck in the gear that they have for sale, when our server, Melena offered to grab a hat I was looking and and offered to add it to the table, perfect. We were going to order cheese curds, but Melena asked us about a new appetizer which was crispy fries with queso, brisket, shredded cheese, tomato's, and side of bbq sauce. It was an absolute home run, and great suggestion. my wife got the desolation burger and I got the broken oar burger. our food came quickly and was delicious. I stop here every time I come to Moab. this restaurant is big and almost as iconic as the surrounding canyons. parking can get slim, but that says something about what to expect. the place is popular and tasty. finally, our server, Melena was probably one of the top three best servers we have ever had. she was attentive, fun, knowledgeable and friendl. We got into Moab late and walked over to the Broken Oar 15 minutes before they closed, but everyone was friendly and they seated us willingly. Our server was Shay, she was great! Good knowledge of the menu, good suggestions, and very attentive. My wife and I had the pork chops and the fish and chips; I'm usually hesitant to order pork chops because they are so easy to dry out, but Shay recommended them and they were the best I've ever had. My wife said the fish and chips were excellent, not oily or heavy but perfectly done. The restaurant is beautiful inside but we decided to sit out on the patio, it was a great evening to eat outside. Broken Oar is a fabulous place to stop and eat everything on the menu is delicious. What makes it the best of all is the entire staff from Randy to Neil to Bina, Trisha, Ben, Shay, Mc Kenna, Tanda, Ramon, Angel, Carmen,Melena, and the entire kitchen staff and hostess they bring it all together as one big happy family and they make it happen so do yourself a favor stop by and say hi to everyone I know you will love it. Loved the atmosphere! I'm not really a log cabin gal but this place was great and not too noisy like so many restaurants can be. We got seated really fast by a handsome friendly young man named Jacob. Our server was Danielle and she was terrific. We ordered Atlantic cod and a turkey wrap. Both were heavenly! We had no room for their famous deserts. Even though we're locals we had never been here before. Definitely coming back. Glad we discovered this off of Main Street gem. read more

Oh wow, this place was such a surprise -- in the best way. We stopped by not really knowing what to expect and the food was actually so good. I got the burger and my friend got the fish tacos, and both were solid. Like, full-on flavor, not that bland stuff you sometimes get. We have been at the Broaken Oar before while traveling through Moab. Terrific food. Excellent atmosphere. Fantastic wait-staff with this visit particularly memorable due to Melissa who treated us like cherished family. We arrived around 6:00 p.m., and not long after we were seated the restaurant really started filling up, so getting there a little earlier was perfect. We started with the small Greek salad, which was fresh and a great way to begin the meal. My partner ordered the flat iron steak with a baked potato, grilled zucchini, and a roll. The steak was unbelievably tender...you could cut it with a butter knife. I ordered the Zac Mac & Cheese, and it was delicious. It was loaded with fresh, crunchy bacon and fresh jalapeños throughout, giving it just the right amount of flavor and a little kick. It also came with a warm roll. Between the excellent food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere, Zax made for a fantastic first dinner in Moab. We'd definitely come back.

The Eggs Benedict are really so delicious. They use a non-traditional hollandaise sauce which, amazingly amped up the flavor of the eggs! And the eggs were perfectly made so that the whites were thoroughly cooked and the yolk was runny. Odd, but this is a difficult thing to get in a restaurant. The meal was served with delicious home fries where the potatoes were moist and flavored. We also ordered a side of their thick bacon, which had a bit of a different flavor - very nice. The bacon was perfectly cooked. We took a chance on the egg scramble, which had lots of promise with the many ingredients listed, but the eggs were overcooked and dry, so the other ingredients couldn't compensate. They served the eggs with a very nice bread for their toast. We almost didn't come here as we only saw the side of the building, which was a very small house looking structure. But as you continue down the street, you can see that they have expanded their restaurant to include the dining area: an "inside" area and a patio area. All of this new structure is glass or plastic windows, they have heating and cooling to accommodate for the time of day and they did a great job of making a pleasant eatery. Everyone we met at the restaurant was pleasant and kind. It was such an enjoyable time. We have a few more days in Moab, so we will be back.

However, the prices have absolutely skyrocketed. We paid five dollars each for some pretty fair tasting coffee. The omelette I used to order is now close to $20. The portion seemed quite a bit smaller too For breakfast for the two of us it was over 50 bucks. We used to have to wait at least an hour for breakfast but this time there was absolutely no wait. I'm wondering if due to the rising meal costs if that's impacting the number of customers coming in the door. I am not sure if I would come back again in the future, which is such a shame.

Water was brought to our table before I'd even put my purse down. Our ordered drinks arrived shortly after. The menu is great! I got the Hot Bird with a side salad and I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best spicy chicken sandwiches I've had. The chicken breast was moist and there were no weird bits. The sauce was delicious, pickles crunchy, and the mini, tomato, and lettuce were great additions to an incredible sandwich. My side salad was big and fresh. It hadn't been sitting in a fridge for hours. The Mister got Bahn Mi and we were both very pleasantly surprised at how good tasty the sandwich was. The meat was warm and flavorful, the veggies were bright and crisp. It was excellent. The real surprise of the meal was the French fries. Think fair fries only thicker. They were so freaking good. Crunchy outside, piping hot and tender on the inside. Perfectly salty. I can't believe I'm raving over French fries but they were legit delicious. Cute space with indoor and outdoor seating options. The attached bar area also looked inviting. I would 1000% come here again.

I built my own burger with chicken, Swiss cheese, pineapple, jalapeños, blue cheese, and their Listen BBQ sauce (yes, I went all in ), and it hit the mark. So flavorful with the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and savory. My husband had the mushroom burger and loved it, definitely a great pick if you want something more classic. I tried the jalapeño margarita, and while it wasn't my favorite (a little more lime-forward than I usually like), that's just personal taste, not a deal breaker at all. The food, the service, and the overall vibe were all on point. We'd absolutely come back, next time I might just switch up.

The place is dirty and needs an update. Carpet was dirty, baseboards are dirty, vents are coated with black dust and grime and the table was sticky.
