What a wonderful experience at the Broken Yolk my server was Nancy and she was outstanding. Friendly and professional. I ordered a delicious omelette with mushrooms,onions,bell peppers and spinach. I've ordered several times on DoorDash. Each time is close to $40 but 9 out of 10 times they failed to give me the for 4 syrups and 4 butters I've specifically asked for. Wish there was a zero star for today's meal. This was the worst breakfast I have had since we moved here 4 years ago. The eggs were not cooked leaving a disgusting runny residue, even though I ordered them well done and when they brought them back they were still well undercooked, the hash browns were also not cooked, one of the 3 pieces of bacon tasted rancid. The best part of the meal was the toast, at least they could cook toast. The server could tell that we were not happy although did very little to rectify the bad experience. Came here on a Thursday, not busy at all, we were seated pretty quick. The service was pretty good and the eggs Benedict I ordered were tasty! My friend ordered the omelette but could have been better. I had ordered a hot chocolate, and upon drinking it, was cold, quite ironic. Waited about 10 minutes for their machine to start up again and received a new one, wasn't the best, but better than before. I do love the restaurant and it's very modern and sleek. Our first time here at this particular spot. Came with a friend after a Saturday morning walk and we were starving. She had been to another location and it was my first time at a BYC. We decided to sit ạt the bar counter since there was no waiting. It was a positive jovial vibe that morning. The Grinch was walking around the restaurant giving out candy canes. We even got a pic with him. Our server was friendly and helpful. I'm sorry, I forgot to note her name and it stinks getting old and forgetting things. Now for the food, I had an omelet with ham and my friend had The Mom omelet. It was just ok. Both omelets lacked seasoning so we made some adjustments with the condiments available on the table. It was our first time at Broken yolk! We went here per my daughters request for her dads birthday as she's been there before celebrating friends. The wait time to get seated wasn't too bad/ The restaurant was clean and neat. The servers all seem courteous and nice! Our server in particular Alicia was simply PHENOMENAL & AMAZING SHE is definitely a top notch server. Was attentive over our table and all the others she was taking care of in our section. She had amazing recommendations for food and drinks We loved it all!!! We ordered the steak & eggs Crepes Pancakes Sides and cocktails it was all warm, tasted fresh and just delicious! We were also really looking forward to our sever singing happy birthday along with the restaurant as we'd heard from my daughter that was a highlight and a core memory for her when she dined with friends. On the positive side the food came out quickly and the ambiance was nice. Food quality was standard for any diner/breakfast restaurant. I would rate the food on par with ihop. We encountered a few issues with our visit. 1. Wait time We joined the yelp waitlist which initially stated a 15 to 30 minute wait. We waited in the car for over an hour until we were 5th on the waitlist. Upon checking in with the host they continued to seat other groups and we remained 5th on the waitlist. I asked the host and was given the excuse that you need to check in with the host even if you're on the waitlist or the will not seat you. I tried to explain that defeats the point of joining the yelp waitlist. Additionally once you check in you're put on a separate waitlist; they do not go down the actual waitlist from yelp when seating. We were only seated quickly after that because I spoke up about how ridiculous the waitlist issue was. Overall we waited an hour and a half versus 30 minutes if they had gone down the waitlist as they should have. 2. Pricing We had upgraded the drink on a kids meal to a smoothie which was listed as a $3.95 charge on the menu. We were charged $4.25 for the upgrade. When I brought it up they reviewed it with the manager and ended up giving us 20% off the bill. Overall given the issues we experienced, we will not be returning. read more

Honestly just a really mid place for pricing thats a little too much for what you get. We got short stack pancakes, short stack chocolate pancakes combo with eggs and bacon, and skillet hash. Chocolate chip pancakes were just the short stack with choc chips piled on top. I tried the pancakes and they were gummy and slimy with the syrup. The hash skillet while still kind of tasty was basically all potato hash. Most of the food came out fast except the choc chip pancakes for my kid. The server was pretty attentive and friendly but when it came time to pay, they were no where to be seen and took forever when we were just trying to leave. I asked the busser if we pay up front and he said he could get someone but it still took a long time. While service did pick up by the end of our visit, the count still wasnt crazy and this was well before church rush on a sunday. Everything is nice inside and is apparent its all still looking new. Total with tip was like almost $80 for 2 adults, and 2 kids who shared a combo meal that was kind of just meh food. I coulda just made it home for half the price and a little better taste. read more

Service from our waitress was good but she was completely overloaded, short staffed with a full section. The kitchen seemed to be very slow as we waited a long time for food and we could see the wait staff was hopping so the fault wasn't on them. Seems to be a management issue for the long delay. We ordered biscuits and gravy with fruit. It managed to be both under seasoned (gravy and biscuits were bland) AND over salty (flavor of the sausage patty was predominantly salt). We also ordered the waffle sandwich with home fries. We asked for poached eggs instead of scrambled. The waitress said okay but the eggs took an additional 10 minutes to arrive. I know they make poached eggs here, there's an entire section of Benedicts on the menu so why the holdup? Weird home fries here. I was expecting cubed potatoes, maybe some onions and green peppers in the mix. What we got was sauteed sliced potatoes. At first I thought we were mistakenly given the hash browns but other tables had what looked like the same potatoes except they were slivered. Okay. Ambiance is unpleasant unless you like a very noisy dining room with voices and coffee bean grinders ricocheting ceaselessly. No soft surfaces to absorb the sound so it's pretty hard to talk or order food, we had to repeat what we wanted several times and when our waitress recited back what she heard it was still wrong. Glad she repeated back the orders because that would have been a lot of do-overs if she hadn't. Perhaps that was a skill she developed while working here. Overall the best part was the service. My wife and I love to have breakfast and I cook an omelette at home and grade everywhere I go based on the quality of the omelette and this was by far the worst time that I've ever eaten. It had pieces of shells in it and it tasted horrible and the stuff inside the omelette was like mush, and you couldn't decipher what was in it. If you have high blood sugar from certain meals, omelettes are great that the fruit I just gave to my wife and the only other substitution options were bred. If you're a diabetic, you know that you can't eat bread because it has sugar. Overall will never return here again, and my wife's meal actually looked quite good and I would put it up there with snooze in terms of the quality and the way it looked, but my omelette was absolutely tasteless and horrible. I paid the $55 bill I ensure to give them 20% but let them know upfront will never be back. You can't blame the waitress for this and she did the best she could, but I don't think it would've been any different if they would've made another omelette. read more

We always ate at the same place and decided to experiment with breakfast. The food wasn't tasty and the presentation was poor. The included muffin, once washed, was simply placed on a plate with an omelet and potatoes. The microwave muffin, so misshapen, was a shame to look at, let alone eat! The butter was the cheapest, runny, and apparently prepared the night before. If you're positioning yourself as a restaurant with decent breakfasts, you need to live up to it! Seated in a comfy booth with views of the breakfast counter and outdoor patio. We were served by Suzie. She was friendly, professional, kind and attentive. While I was sad that they took out Panera...this was the upgrade it needed. We were promptly seated, was greeted by our enthusiastic waitress, ordered, and the food literally came out in 10 minutes. I ordered the country skillet (amazing) and my friend ordered the Nutella crepes (to die for). The remodel of this place was done so nice, I couldn't believe it. Family members came here for breakfast many times, finally my son and I tagged along today. We both ordered chicken fried steak, eggs and pancake. The gravy is little too sweet and too rich, it makes little hard to finish the plate. Hash brown is good and fries are too salty. Pancakes are ok. Based on what I ordered today, I gave 3&1/2 stars. The reason is 4 stars because extra half star comes from clearness, friendly service and family like this place. Customer service rocks. You can get your meals within 10-15 minutes ( a shorter wait time than Denny's). Some of the food's good. I ordered a breakfast which consisted of 2 chocolate chip pancakes alongside scrambled eggs and sausages plus butter and maple syrup. The eggs and sausages were delicious, but the pancakes were awful. Both of them did not have chocolate chips and I got a stomachache after having one. If you come here, just don't order pancakes. On our first visit to Broken Yolk Cafe, we started out with the BYC Bloody Mary. Served with a slice of bacon, it's a very tasty Bloody Mary but there was a unique flavor in it that I did not recognize. I think that the "vodka spirit" is not actually vodka but rather a wine-based spirit that simulates the vodka flavor profile and I think wine was the flavor I was picking up. Their Bloody Mary mix and Tajin rim is banging! It's worth ordering as long as you don't feel like it must be real vodka. I enjoy a good corned beef hash, so I wanted to try the Hash Skillet. Unfortunately, the server said that they don't prepare the hash fresh on the premises. I'm not a fan of canned hash, so I decided to order the Ranchero Skillet instead. It was very flavorful, although I would have liked the chorizo more prominent. I ordered the eggs over-medium but they were slightly overcooked (i.e. most of the yolk was not runny). Nonetheless, it was a satisfying dish overall. My companion ordered the Chilaquiles Bowl with the green sauce. The eggs on her bowl were cooked perfectly over-medium. She said that salsa was very good and, as a Mexican, she knows how an authentic salsa verde should taste. They also managed to find that balance where the chips are well smothered with the salsa but still have some crispiness. This plate is definitely worth ordering. For my fellow wheelchair users, this restaurant is very accessible. There's plenty of room to maneuver between the tables through the room. Getting my lap fully under a table in my electric wheelchair is challenging in most tables I encounter at restaurants but there were a few of them at this cafe that would accommodate my wheelchair. One of the tables is designed and designated for the use of a person in a wheelchair. This is the one that we used and it was very open for maneuvering my chair around and under it. Our server was Susie and she was friendly and attentive. The portions on both plates were generous, so we left full and satisfied. I'll definitely return because there are a few other dishes that caught my eye. read more
