Both had flavors were very good but the yolks were over cooked and somehow the entire dish was warm at best, borderline cold. I got the biscuit and gravy with the crispy chicken. Flavors were really good, but also the food was cold. The hash browns were unseasoned as well as the side of eggs. Bother were also cold. We both got lattes but they were overly sweet and had the texture of chocolate milk. The Bellini was really good. This place has a lot of potential. Terrible experience overall. I honestly don't understand why this place is so popular or why people are willing to wait for it. After waiting for a table, my husband and I were seated. Two different staff members came by to ask for our drink order, and then a third person--our actual server--came to confirm it. We ended up repeating our drink order three times. We both ordered matcha lattes, which were extremely sweet--almost like drinking green sugar water, with very little matcha flavor. We each took a sip and didn't finish the rest. When our food arrived, we weren't given any silverware. We tried to get a server's attention, but it was surprisingly difficult. When our server finally came back, she handed us one fork instead of two, and it still had chocolate cake residue on it, which was very off-putting. We asked for clean forks, but the replacements also had chocolate cake on them. The food itself was just okay. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing anyone here--especially when there are so many other high-quality brunch spots in Orange County. read more

This place could be five stars if they fix one thing: taste. The food is bland. My pancakes tasted life birthday cake. If they can't get pancakes right, they can't do much else. The burrito and omelette were bland. You can't just throw ingredients together and expect it tastes good. You need to cook it correctly with seasoning. This is cafeteria food. However since this is a new location that recently opened the staff seem to be less trained. So i ordered the cali burrito. The menu showed it came with avocado (i honestly dislike restaurants that put avocado on every dish. Specially a breakfast burrito). So i asked the waiter to put it on the side. When i received my plate it was served with avocado on the side but when i bit into the burrito there was avocado inside the burrito as well. Wasn't happy about that but i didn't want to make a big deal out of it and let it slide. Got the bill and had a charge of $3-4 for a tiny piece of avocado on the side that kinda made me cringe. Albeit maybe it was lost in communication. But i did not ask for "extra avocado". I simply asked for it to be on the side while ordering. I assume the waiter wasn't aware the burrito comes with it. In retrospect, I should have read the reviews before I ordered. I should have stuck with classics like pancakes or waffles but was tempted to try their Cali Breakfast Burrito ($14.95). Our server told me that is what the employees all ordered and that I would not be disappointed. She was wrong. The breakfast burrito was pretty bland, with a lot of homestyle potatoes and eggs, some avocado and very light on the bacon. There was some pico de gallo and green salsa to help liven it up. It came with a side of Mexican rice and very watery beans, which were not very appetizing. My husband's huevos rancheros ($14.95) was fine and came with the same rice and beans. Our server was a hoot. She called my husband, "King" and at the end of our meal, asked, "Are you two off to enjoy each other?" I don't think I've ever been as entertained. At least we came on a weekday for breakfast and it was pretty quiet. If I come back, I'm avoiding the South of the Border selections and will go with one of the standards. For the first time in my life, I've tasted the most nothing-mush known as avocado. Somehow they've achieved the look and passable texture of fresh smushed avocado, I could not tell you what I was eating. Of all the ingredients on the feta avocado toast with two poached eggs, the feta had the most flavor. That's including the balsamic drizzle. Everything was cold and the hash browns were amateurishly undercooked. I loved looking at the menu, it's like if Denny's and Panera had a diner. The only steaming fresh thing were the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. Fluffy and filled the booth with autumn spices. If I hadn't known what goes on behind a Panera kitchen with the pre-packaged 'fresh' avocado, this would've puzzled me for all eternity. But this is how they're able to more accurately scale the caloric count under each menu item. I'm sure there's a sweet spot in ordering like going to your favorite Papa John's or meatballs from ikea. But it is not anything with eggs or avocado. Service is friendly, speedy and very tentative. There's no shortage of staff it seems. If you're hungry and can't stand Snooze or Haute Cakes, I'm sure they'll have seats and coffee for you. read more

Although this place is busy, they know how to handle a crowd. We had a party of 8 and I did get on the waitlist so we had to wait about 10 minutes at the most. Pretty bummed out by this experience. The bloody mary flight is advertised on the menu with a nice photo of 4 glasses and garnishes and it was not served that way. They literally gave us 4 identical cups with no garnishes and the food runner put it on the table without any description so we had no idea which one was which. When we asked our server to identify the drinks, he could not tell the difference. It wasn't busy at the time so not sure why the bartender could not garnish properly. We also asked our server for recommendations on the eggs Benedict and he said he hasn't tried it. So we got a mix of chicken and waffle Benedict, sope Benedict, and border Benedict. DO NOT GET the Sope Benedict it was TERRIBLE. The Sope was hard as a rock and all the food was cold. It must have been sitting for a while before the food runner brought it out. We asked for silverware from a hostess because we were not provided with any. She sat other tables and then brought forks after our cold food had been sitting on our table for about 10 minutes just waiting for us to be able to eat. When it was time for the check, we gave the server a gift certificate with the check and told him to use the gift certificate first and then the credit card. He did not apply the discount to the check. He returned only the credit card with the receipt to sign. He took the gift certificate. I had to go find him outside on the patio to ask him to correct the check. He apologized but needed to take time to void the original payment, apply certificate, and then run my credit card again. Still awaiting the void to process. At this point, we have been charged twice. Once for the incorrect amount and then again for the correct amount after he corrected it. We still gave a 20% tip as the server seemed genuinely sorry. But this was just a real bummer of an experience. Hope they can improve their service. There are plenty of parking spaces. I ordered from the benedict section, where you can choose any two benedicts from the menu. I chose Smoked Salmon Benedict and Golden State Benedict with a side of hashbrowns. The Smoked Salmon Benedict was good with the hollandaise sauce. The Golden State Benedict was also good and not spicy (even if it has a chili pepper icon next to the name on the menu). The only spicy thing was the Sriracha sauce. The hashbrowns were bland without ketchup and not crispy. Overall, everything was pretty good! If you feel like you'll come here often, download their app ahead of time to earn rewards. You get 50 points for joining. Ask the server to scan your app barcode on the spot because I've been trying to put in my barcode manually after the fact, and it hasn't been working which is a shame because our bill was over $84 for a family of 4 (which doesn't include the tip we paid). Stopped by for the (super busy) grand opening to the newest addition to the crosswords plaza in Irvine. Ordered the cinnamon pancakes, meat lover skillet and Chicken and waffles. The cinnamon pancakes were fluffy and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The skillet was hearty and can definitely fill you up even if you have a big appetite. The chicken that came with the chicken and waffle was a bit dry but overall delicious. Very glad to have a broken yolk now in Irvine. Staff was friendly and the interior is clean and new. My ordering experience was smooth, kind, and efficient. 10/10 Food: Baby when I say it's a 10/10 I MEAN it. I got the biscuits and gravy with bacon and you know I had to have my over medium eggs with it. First timers. Went for a quick midweek breakfast around 9:30am for two. There was plenty of seating. With about 2-3 servers and a bartender per usual I suspect for midweek service. The receipt said server #3811 I believe.. no name still. No personality really maybe hungover? I'm not sure. We ordered our meals and when I asked for blueberries for my Mom's pancakes he responded "If you want, yeah." A simple yes or okay would have been fine. Maybe miscommunication. Maybe I'm being nit-picky. I ordered a coffee and when I asked for non-dairy creamer, he said they didn't have any. So I had to point at the other table with a cup of prepackaged creamers to which he got me. The top one was used/empty.... He brought the food and the usually "anything else" so I asked for ketchup. No check ins until the end of the meal with a coffee refill and I asked for the check. He made sure to remind me to sign up for the points reward program. Seems like the whole time, he was just phoning it in. The food came out quick and hot. It was actually really good though so Im glad we got a chance to try this place for the first time. Wish there was a zero star for today's meal. This was the worst breakfast I have had since we moved here 4 years ago. The eggs were not cooked leaving a disgusting runny residue, even though I ordered them well done and when they brought them back they were still well undercooked, the hash browns were also not cooked, one of the 3 pieces of bacon tasted rancid. The best part of the meal was the toast, at least they could cook toast. The server could tell that we were not happy although did very little to rectify the bad experience.
