Chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns, toast coffee

Wow!!! What a #TREAT! I have driven by Broken Yolk for many years, and today I finally decided to stop in for breakfast! There were so many amazing options that it was hard to choose! I landed on the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast with extra gravy because: #GRAVY!!! Everything was #SimplyDELISH! The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly, the hash browns were crispy, the eggs were just right, and yes... the extra gravy was absolutely worth it! The preparation was #5Star, and the service was #AMAZING!!!

I've been here twice now and love the food as it is well done for a fair price point and the drinks are strong! The hosts and servers are also very friendly, but service has been concerning. Both times they have forgotten my toast--which I find funny, but that aside, it's a very low key place to get delicious brunch food that tastes fresh! I also love that the menu is very diverse and customizable!

Usually not a breakfast person but we enjoyed everything we got! Bacon, hash browns, granola yogurt, and pancakes were delicious.

This place is absolutely delicious for brunch! The crepes were perfectly sweet and the skillet was delicious! I highly recommend the iced pineapple matcha latte.

Nice clean bright location. I've been looking for a breakfast place down here. The Cali Breakfast Burrito is pretty tasty and healthy. It's a nice combination of bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado without overwhelming flavors. Definitely a recommend in my book.

We came here on a Sunday morning for some breakfast, as we are not very familiar with the area and this is one of the restaurants that popped up. I am so ungrateful that we ended up here, because that was the best omelette I've ever had! We were seated right away which was very nice, and they have plenty of space both inside and outside. Our server was incredibly kind and very attentive. I ordered the El Fuego omelette and the chorizo it had inside was not only perfectly spicy, but truly delicious. The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the jalapeños added the perfect kick to it. I truly recommend coming here if you get the chance to!

I found myself in the area with some time to spare last week and decided to stop in for breakfast before work. The ambiance is pretty standard for a breakfast spot, though the tables are spaced out nicely, and they also have a full bar. The service was great. The waitress could tell I was in a hurry, so she made sure to bring the check quickly and offered a box in case I needed one. Overall, I was really impressed with the food and will definitely be returning in the future.

this brunch spot needs more attention! what i got: chilaquiles bowl (half red half green sauce) sweet trio (ft tiki toast, crunchy french toast & cinna-cake) smoked salmon benedict & sope benedict coconut pineapple matcha (seasonal) messy caramel latte first off, their menu is so big!! there's a lot of variety which i love all the food was so yummyyyy and very flavorful! if i hadddd to pick id say the chilaquiles and the cinna-cake were my favs, but i honestly really enjoyed everything, you can't go wrong with any of these dishes the matcha tasted like a piña colada which was yum but there wasn't much matcha taste- still good tho as a drink. the latte didn't have a strong coffee flavor but was a nice drink to have. their smoothies are worth a try!! there is plentyyyy of seating. the space feels nice and open. if you go during the week you will be fine without a reservation, but there might be a wait on the weekend. this is a super solid spot for brunch, i would def recommend!! they have so many options and everything is delish

Oh wow, this is the worst chicken and waffles I've ever had. Not only are the chicken pieces tiny, but the chicken also lacks flavor and is dry. The waffles were okay, but unfortunately, since I got them as takeout, they became all soggy. It does come in a plastic container with vents, but they didn't bother opening the vents.

Tried out Broken Yolk Cafe for brunch and it definitely delivered a solid, no-frills breakfast experience. Went with the buttermilk full stack, a side of fruit, and sausage patties. The pancakes were exactly what you want fluffy, slightly crispy on the edges, and soaked up the syrup well without getting soggy. Nothing overly fancy, just done right. The fruit was fresh and a nice balance to cut through all the carbs, and the sausage patties had that classic savory, slightly greasy breakfast flavor that hits the spot. Service was quick and the overall vibe is casual and easy...good for a laid-back brunch without overthinking it. It's not trying to reinvent breakfast, but it executes the staples really well. Our server susy was super sweet attentive and overall a really cool girl. Oh and the host staff was awesome too. Overall, a dependable spot when you're craving a classic, filling breakfast. Definitely a step above your Dennys ihop or norms tier. Clean and less of the like homeless / sketchy crackhead demographic you'd expect at those 24 / 7 breakfast & lunch joints. Buenos días mi gente. Have a good one.

If I could give more stars, I would! Let me begin with saying I don't recall any other restaurant experience where ALL the staff was so nice, welcoming, and accommodating. It didn't feel fake or forced, it was wonderful! Our food came out so quickly, I was confused how they did it. Everything was tasty. I do wish the crepes were cooked a bit more but not a big deal at all. I wish I could come every single day. I also loved that they had vegan substitutes.

We got sat very quickly. Server was kind and helped my family. Who normally take a while to order, to hurry up and make decisions lol which i appreciated. Very few places have gluten free pancakes. It was a nice surprise to be able to have some as well for breakfast Oh grab the ices cappuccino, i got the hazelnut flavor. So freaking yummy

Great choice for some good breakfast food. A ton of options and everything sounds great! I got the avocado toast and it was what i wanted. Our server was very nice and helpful and the food came out in like 5 minutes, so quick! The booths and seating were super cute and i loved the overall vibe. My only complaint is the price was steep for what it was. I got avocado toast and hash browns and it was $20. The food was good but it wasn't worth the price...

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! I was already full at this point but this was too damn delicious. It's got the same concept of a pizookie and I'm a sucker for this type of dessert! Love pizookies? Peach jam? Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. Oh and don't forget to get your parking ticket validated! Special thanks to the team and for the GM Chris Teng for checking up on us from time to time to ensure we were enjoying our experience. Definitely will be coming back!

We tried the crab cake Benedict, lobster & shrimp roll, and chicken & waffles. All were good but not very memorable in flavor. The drinks menu consists of alcoholic beverages and mocktails. Wish they had a bigger selection of caffeinated drinks for a brunch place. Overall a good choice for brunch with family and friends.

Good: My order was delayed and the team were super communicative and checked back with me multiple times. They were friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about the time. I appreciated their service. Bad: Because the order was delayed, I think they severely under seasoned everything. My daughter's alfredo kids meal was nothing short of boiled pasta served. It looked like they missed all sorts of anything on it to be honest. I bought it home to her going, "YUCK!" She never has used those words to describe pasta. I ended up trying a bite and have to agree. Next comes the breadsticks. Looking at the pictures, they look like they have some sort of cheese/garlic/butter on them. I was provided completely plain breadsticks. This was bread baked in the oven and put in a bag and given. I am highly disappointed in what I was given. Both pasta for my kid and my breadsticks completely missed the mark. Apart from their service being awesome, the food absolutely stunk. Looking back at the pictures from other guests, I really think my experience is an unfortunate experience. I have seen them on my way to work daily and now I am not sure if I would want to recommend them to anyone.

There is something reassuring about walking through the door already knowing what I am going to order--and knowing, with reasonable certainty, exactly how good it will be. The kitchen is remarkably consistent. The food is well prepared, ingredients are treated with care, and execution rarely seems to vary from one visit to the next. That kind of consistency is rare and much appreciated. The same can be said for the service. The staff are attentive, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. The restaurant itself is exceptionally well maintained and always impressively clean. One of my favorite things about Houston's, however, has nothing to do with the food: the acoustics. I can think of very few restaurants where I would rather sit down for a long conversation over dinner. Whoever designed the acoustic treatment knew exactly what they were doing. You can actually hear the people at your table without having to compete with the rest of the room--something that has become surprisingly rare in modern restaurants. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. Prices are certainly toward the higher end, but considering the quality of the food, service, surroundings, and above all the remarkable consistency, I find them justified. Dining at Houston's is something I genuinely look forward to, and after many visits it remains one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. I would recommend it without hesitation --with one exception: I would choose somewhere else for a group larger than four. For two to four people, particularly when good food and good conversation are both important, Houston's is very hard to beat.

I eat the same things I did when I first came over 10 years ago and it tastes just as good. They make small modifications to the menu and add new flavors (like soup of the day) but otherwise all remains the same and genuinely I love it because they serve food and flavors I can't find anywhere else. Highly recommend the smoked salmon, spinach and artichoke dip, Hawaiian ribeye, fork and knife ribs, grilled chicken salad (fav salad I've ever had), and the fries with spicy mayo (actually top 3 fries I've ever had too). I used to love the southwest chili they serve on Saturdays but they recently changed the recipe and added beans...ruined the dish imo...was a bit sad about that but overall no complaints. One of my top favorite restaurants ever. Pleasure to be a guest.
