My boyfriend is a big omelette fan, so he's always happy with the wide variety of omelette options. We've tried the Chicken Fried Steak, Mom Omelette, and the California Breakfast Burrito. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. Service here really stands out. Several staff members stopped by to check in and make sure everything was going well. When I was packing up leftovers, our server Alex noticed my salsa container didn't have a lid and immediately asked if I wanted one so it wouldn't spill. Had free kids meal gift certificates so we finally tried this place out! Seated right away at 8:30am on a Sunday, with great quick service. Our kids loved their breakfasts, and so did we! There once was a time that food and service was top notch. As busy as it got, the food and service never wavered. But the last two times I've gone there have been miserable. We visited on Friday, May 8th at about 12:15 noon. No host to greet us, we waited about 5 minutes. It appeared extremely understaffed. The waiters ignored us. The waitress was rude and unprofessional. She was Hispanic and had long black hair. She also had braces. She seemed disturbed that we asked for our order to be taken after waiting for another 10 minutes at our table. The only hospitality we received was from an older lady with red hair. Management fire everyone else and promote her. The food was stale, hash browns especially. I typically only write positive reviews and a negative review if it is bad, this place is just that. The broken yolk is a long time regular breakfast/brunch place for me. I've been eating here for many years. My girlfriend and I were looking for brunch while waiting for an appointment nearby so we hit up the broken yolk. As usual it didn't disappoint. We both went with the French toast combo. She ordered a side of country potatoes and we split them. We put ourselves on the online waiting list and were seated as soon as we arrived. The service here is amazing! I had called ahead to see if they could accommodate a large group with dogs and they said they could. I hadn't specified a time or asked for a reservation but when I arrived they had set aside a table for us already. The food was delicious with huge portion sizes. They also have mimosa and Bloody Mary flights, which I loved because I always want to try everything. Their menu is definitely a bit overwhelming. When I couldn't decide, our server let us know we could mix and match Benedict's! That's awesome! I decided to mix and match and got one border and one sope Benedict. They were both delicious, but the border Benedict is still my favorite. Our server also offered us free reusable tote bags! I recently tried their takeout, which held up well! Of course I got the Border Benedict and my friend got the waffle. The Border Benedict was delicious as usual, but I wasn't happy they didn't let us know there was no butter or syrup in the bag for the waffle. They didn't ask me what kind of potatoes when I ordered over the phone, and i ended up with hashbrowns. The homefries are better. The Broken Yolk is one of our favorite breakfast chains. This spot didn't disappoint. The place isn't hard to find and there's plenty of parking. The inside is roomy and we were pleasantly surprised to see holiday-themed decor. You can argue about pulling out the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, but it was nice. We came on a weekday around noon and it wasn't busy. We were seated and served promptly, with hot coffees and water brought out right away. I ordered a meat lover's skillet, which had ham, sausages, peppers and thinly sliced potatoes with three eggs on top, I ordered mine over easy, and opened them up so the yolk could mix into the rest of the food. The skillet didn't look as big as I had hoped, but it was plenty filling. My +1 ordered a salmon eggs Benedict, which was tender and delicious. The capers went well with the salmon and the hollandaise sauce brought it all together. They also have kid's options, and our little one must be in the middle of a growth spurt because he's constantly hungry. The generous portion of pancakes, along with a scrambled egg and two pieces of bacon, were enough to satisfy him. For the time being. We were asked what to drink and my family and I had ordered regular hot coffee. They do have a Coffee Bar on the back side of their menu, along with many options of beverages to choose from. They have so many breakfast options too. Everything sounds so good so you know I'm coming back to try many more things. They also have good options for lunch as well. I'm looking at the Chilaquiles Bowl for my choice as breakfast with carne asada, red sauce and the eggs over medium- sunny side up. And left everything else on it like jack cheese, red onion, cilantro, & sour cream. This one is found under the breakfast section called South Of The Border. Our server Eunice was especially sweet. And fixed our order. We just need to add som veggies to the house fries. She worked on it right away. And she kept checking on our table and attentive. I've been coming here for a while now it's one of my go to spots. I love the Mexican American style breakfast, even though it can be hit and miss sometimes, but what stood out to me was recently is how the manager Marcos talks to its employees. I'm not sure if the girl was new or what the case maybe, but overall, I had to ask for my food to go because the way that this man carried himself it was almost like him belittling his employees overall just lost my appetite. If you're not there actively checking with the hostess, they inadvertently give your table to another party that is just in the waiting area. It happened to another group ahead of us, and then it almost happened to us. The food was pretty good. The sweet portions of the menu were made better than the savory items. The hash browns and potatoes were severely undercooked and had almost no browning to them. The Tiki Toast was very good and delicious. The Cina-cakes were really good too. Basically, the sweets were made better than the savories. Overall, it was a fine dining experience. There's an 18% automatic gratuity on parties of 6 or more. Parking was easy. read more
