The Feta Avocado Toast left a lot to be desired, there was barely a crumble of feta and the arugula was so bitter it was almost inedible. The Cali Breakfast Burrito was bland, the ingredients felt isolated and the rice and bean pairing was cold and felt like it was heated from frozen. While the food was disappointing, the service was friendly and fast. The interior of the restaurant is big, with bar, booth, and table seating options. First stop on our visit to pheonix with my wife and her friend. Restaurant itself is nice and spacious. We were seated right away. Our server was very welcoming and helpful. I got the Ranchero skillet, my wife and her friend got the Sweet Trio & the Greek Omelette respectively. I tried some of my wife's Sweet Trio, which was pretty good but the Ranchero skillet was just okay IMO. Our friend thought the Greek Omelette was good as well but nothing exceptional. The potatoes were sliced like thin, sliced potatoes, so it was nice change from the regular chunks of potatoes that you get in a skillet , I would definitely order that again Monte Cristo was a little bit different than the only other one I've ever had. And seemed more like a ham and cheese sandwich between two French toast. That's not a complaint it tasted really good. And instead of jam, it was like a raspberry compote, and I really appreciated that it was nice and fresh. My husband got an Arnold Palmer. Came to check out Broken Yolk after they recently opened and wasn't disappointed! We got the matcha latte, Golden State Benedict and the Ranchero Scramble. Matcha latte was a tad sweet but delicious and packed with caffeine. Golden State Benedict was beautifully arranged and the star here was the hash browns as they were cooked perfectly with an excellent amount of crispy bits on top. Ranchero scramble was a solid heap of eggs, chorizo, potato avocado and egg though I wish it had a bit more spice and onion/jalapeño in it. (They don't call me Mr Onion for nothing) Service is quick and friendly I appreciated how efficient they were with digital tablets and hard working crew. Hey guys, new spot to try for breakfast here. Walked right in around 10am, no wait. Busy energy in the air, lots of conversations, lots of people, fast friendly service. Coffee was hot upon being poured, really good sign. Mario our server quickly approached and introduced himself giving us some of his favorite recommendations. I chose cinnamon roll style pancakes, my partner the waffle sandwich. The wait for our food was a bit long, not typical of breakfast food place, perhaps we came during a peak time. Our food came after a lengthy while and the waffle sandwich was perfect, my pancakes upon first bite were raw and the pancake batter undercooked. Came here with a friend from out of town and what an amazing find! It's a bright and refreshing ambiance with kind servers who take the time to make sure you have everything you need. i got a short stack of the lemon ricotta pancakes and made it a combo with two poached eggs and sausage. It was incredible. I was sad I couldn't finish it all. The pancakes were light and airy, but not too sweet. There was a nice zip from the lemon but the richness of the ricotta balanced it nicely. The blueberries were the perfect addition. My friend got the pick two benedict. She got the Golden State and Border Options. She ordered hash browns on the side. No wait last Saturday upon walking in around noon. The ambiance is bright and airy decorated in bright colors. We were a group of 4 and we're seated in a smaller booth. Looking back we should have asked for a larger table as we quickly filled every inch of the table. We ordered mimosa flights and breakfast which are large servings so you can see why we ran out of room. The service was wonderful as it was quick and the food was delivered fairly quickly as well. We ordered a variety of food one of the items were the Nutella strawberry banana crepes and the golden Benedict. We were not a fan of the lemonade mimosa and the Dreamsicle was top sweet for my liking without any alcohol. Definitely skip theae if youre on the fence. I'm a broken yolk fan & visit many of the other locations. This was my first time here at the one off Highland. The one star goes to the fact that I had several long gray strains of hair found in my food. I was so disgusted when I found them & immediately stopped eating. My 2 kids pointed it out, and I let the server know, but that's where my frustration really escalated as their response was more of a "prove it" vs taking accountability and trying to resolve. I immediately got up to talk to the manager and kudos to her as she did say this was unacceptable. My bill was comped and I decided to wait outside while my kids finished their meal but they were inspecting every bite with hesitation. The staff responded immediately. This place is clean and attractive from the inside. They clearly think a lot more of their food than I do. It's expensive based on what you get. I've been there twice, once to try it out and once because it was the only breakfast place around when I was hungry. The first time there I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. It turned out to just be a fried chicken wrap. There was no buffalo sauce to be seen or tasted. The second time, I got a skillet that was really bland. They don't use seasonings at all. The potatoes in there were just so plain. If not for the ham in the skillet, there would be no salt whatsoever. The muffin I got with the meal was $5. The glass of orange juice was $5. That's just insane. This place is just not good enough to be charging what they charge for everyday items like an english muffin and orange juice. I won't be back. read more

Menus is inviting and diverse. We had steak and eggs and meat lovers skillet. Service was excellent by Marcos. The wait for our beverage was a few minutes longer than hoped but Sunday brunch rush is easy to forgive. The meat skillet was good, but steak was dry, tough and not worth keeping on menu if this is the norm. Potatoes (hash browns) were under cooked, not crisp, very pale. Orange juice served in lovely tall glass. Will return for a second try but overall was satisfactory and comparable to an excellent Denny's. My guess is the kitchen needs work? As a past restaurant manager, I can spot when the room is moving well but everyone waiting for plates and food not really up to an excellence it should reach. Seeing this spot packed on Saturday morning around 9:50 am so that made me believe the food is good. I checked in on the Yelp app and added my self to the wait list then checked in with the hostess. This process worked like a charm because we got seated within the 10 minutes. We already knew what we wanted so as soon as our server Alissa came by to introduce herself we put in our order and got our food and drinks. I guess that's to be expected from a brand new restaurant; but I liked the design choices they made. It felt bright and airy. The service was also good. Our server was friendly and checked-in frequently. The misses: unfortunately the food was just okay. There is definitely potential; all the dishes were presented very nicely, they were just lacking much-needed flavor and seasoning. The potatoes didn't have a speck of salt on them, and my partner's poblano sauce definitely could benefitted from some more heat. The carne asada was also pretty bland. My family and I decided to give this place a try since we've never been. We like to try new places! We came on 4/8 at about 730am. I'd have to say this food was okay. Without the country gravy, the eggs would not have had any flavor to them. The eggs were a little on the dry side and had little to no salt. Once I blended the gravy with everything, it was a little better. My husband had the French toast. He gave me a thumbs up and said it was alright. He had no complaints. One thing I give props to this place for is that it is "kid-friendly"! They have kids menus and high-chairs, which having 3 children, I can appreciate greatly. My kiddos had the pancake with eggs and fruit. My 6 year old loved all of it! She ate the whole thing! As for my 2 year old, she ate mostly everything except the eggs. She normally eats eggs, but for some reason, with these ones, she just didn't want them. I'm assuming for the same reason as I felt, too dry and bland. Overall, the experience was okay.
