Hello regarding the San Marcos location. I am a long time customer. There is a man in his approx 50-55 yr old age range. About 5'4, medium skin tone, who is mentally unstable and in broken yolk all the time. He harasses customers inside and in the parking lot, he harasses servers... he goes into the kitchen as if he is an employee.. . He does not work there. Many people have complained. Yet nothing happens. Please help make this location a safer and welcoming place. It's not ok. Please at the very least stop him from going into the kitchen. His hands are absolutely filthy and this is not safe. Mangers do nothing even if you bring it to them. They say "ok I'll watch" and nothing happens... Servers aren't allowed to complain about him to the manager (as i was told today by a server when i asked him About the man as he was previously banned but about 6 months ago has somehow been allowed back in and there all the time. Just harassing ).... He's screamed at my family and i in the parking lot 3x now ... charged after us. We didn't even say a word to him. Came out of nowhere. Then inside he will stare at you and take your photo or film You if you look back or react. It's so uncomfortable and i don't want to stop going here. We love the food. But this is a serious health an safety concern. Last effort to ask for management to address before we have to contact FHD and CDPH. do better broken yolk. Protect your staff and customers please. read more

Looks like a new menu (it's been a while since I've been here). Our food came out quickly and HOT, and DELICIOUS!! Mom loved her Ranchero skillet and I really enjoyed my build your own omelette. The new biscuit they put on the place was out of the oven fresh! Our server Diana was very sweet and accommodating. We also loved the new decor in the restaurant. I am not normally a breakfast person, and I'm very picky about breakfast, but this place was fantastic! I had a Tiki Toast Combo and would definitely buy it again. They also have vegan options; my friend ordered a spicy vegan meal and loved it! The wait was only about 15 minutes on a busy Sunday (2 PM). Very loud inside, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise, or ask to sit outside (although you'll face the wind, sun, etc.). read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but lately it seems like Broken Yolk has not been the same for a while. My last visit, my food gave me a huge stomachache. Which is weird because I enjoyed my meal and I think it was delicious. The continuous times prior to this, the service and food have been questionable. I've been here when it's quite busy and the time to receive your food has been reasonable but one time I waited nearly an hour to receive my food. As for food inconsistency I would say that there's times that they put too much jalapeños some times and sometimes it's right amount on an omelette. Another instance would be when I ordered green chilaquiles and the salsa was sour and bitter. It wasn't spicy or flavorful. As for being attended, waiters have been lacking in being friendly and attentive. If anything it seems like the people wiping down the tables are more attentive and look after certain tables in some cases. There's been instances where I'm hesitant to leave a tip because of not even being looked after. read more

When it's crowded, it's loud. Food was good. I had the chicken/waffles, yum! Hubs had the meat lovers omelet with home fries. He's said the omelet was meh, not a lot of flavor and the home fries were just sliced potatoes. We also ordered the mimosa flight and the bloody mary flight. Got a good buzz from the drinks but disappointed with the flavor of the bloody Mary mix. Our server, Ryan, was great.
