I was extremely disappointed today and The Broken Yolk Cafe. My coffee had things floating in it. After waiting 25 minutes for breakfast my plate had runny brown stuff on it. The other meals were lukewarm as was mine when they returned with a clean plate. My appetite by this time was nil. The toast and muffin came out after we had been eating for more than 5 minutes. Great spot for breakfast or brunch! We finally got a chance to try our home town The Broken Yolk Cafe. We arrived an hour before closing time which is at 3pm. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The restaurant looks nice, clean, and organised inside. They played good music too which added to the ambiance. They have really good menu items. There are few selections per each category and the ingredients seemed well paired. I had egg Benedict with drizzle of sriracha sauce. Combination of spicy sauce with hollandaise sauce was spot on. It was well balanced and gave the dish that extra tasty flavours. We also ordered machaca and this dish was equally tasty. Make sure to order extra serving of flour tortillas as the they serve plates full of food. Most importantly, the service here is really good and friendly. Eggs were actually cold- went there only because friend recommended it- it's basically a Dennys. And of course 26$ for 2 cold eggs/bacon hash brown and one pancake - also no real cream or half n half. Just the prepackaged Chemical creamers. If Dennys is good for you this place maybe also. The food was not bad but the service was disappointing! I have worked and know people who work in the hospitality industry and can attest that the servers we had were not up to par! Generally when you greet your customers you introduce yourself. Ours didn't! Take note, I said servers because our initial server (Josue) disappeared. If he went on a break, it would've been nice if he had mentioned that to us. We had to flag other servers for refills, etc. Then we had another server, who also didn't introduce himself. He was the one who we asked to bring us our check. He dropped it off without letting us know if we pay up front or when we were ready will take our payment. After 10 minutes Josue brought our check back to us. Again, not letting us know if we pay up front or if he would take it. Then we waited another 10 minutes, we flagged down a lady who appeared to be the manager. When we asked if we pay up front or give it to our server she just grabbed the check and scurried to the front without saying anything. Then it was our initial server who returned our card and receipt to the table. So how much would you leave as a tip? All and all, it is a quaint little place! Food is good. Recently had an experience at the Temecula BYC. Typically this place has some great food, Always good service. I only order Benedict and have for years at every location. Who ever is running this kitchen or cooking here is not who I want making my food. The poached eggs were really nothing more than the yolk, the sauce was watery and flavorless, the carne asada was ground beef not carne asada, and corn cake was greasy and disgusting. To top it off I ordered the home fries which came out burnt and some were almost raw. This certainly changes my opinion of the food here. I would warn anyone looking to eat here to be aware of what they are spending their money on. In this case I sent the food back and settled with a side of bacon and a coffee. Valentines day.... Wife thought it would be nice to have a breakfast while the kids were in school. We ordered the South of Border Benedict and Carne Asada Benedict. Meat and Carne Asada was super old and chewy. Left over meat. No way that meat could taste chewy like that even being pepper the night before. The shredded beef was powdery like it was over cooked. Everything was bland. I ordered the Greek omelet and Chicken fried steak. There was literally a whole can of olives that are Greek olives... very strong tasting. Hardly any Feta or spinach and very little egg. Holy crap it was alot of olives. I ate half and had the push the rest of the olives aside. No Feta or tomato on top of the omelet. The chicken-fried-steak was like eating beef jerky with dry batter. The only think I couldn't complain about the sourdough toast.... actually, if you have a big slice of toast, why put butter dead center and such a little amount. The only complaint I have is that service can be a little slow. They few times I have been here, I have been satisfied with the food. The potions are hearty and tasty. They have a rewards program that isn't that bad as far as money earned. The parking lot is a little small for how busy it can get. However, you can park over by AAA if you don't mind the walk. I hate to write this review, I truly do. Like I told their HQs I have been going to TBYC since I was like 9 and I'm now in my 30's. We lived i mission beach and grew up at their original location by the old Tony Romo's in PB. I reached out to their main office to tell them about our experience at their Temecula location. My husband and I had an absolutely horrid experience that I won't outline here. The one item I'm going to address is that we ordered avocado toast and received soggy disgusting bread with guacamole on it. After I informed them about this amongst the other concerns and health hazards, they told me that's how the toast is served. The "avocado" we received was the guacamole they put on their burritos and Mexican inspired dishes. It's the kind that comes out in bags. They offered to mail me a gift card to try it out again (we ordered multiple items including two mimosas flights). They mailed us a $25 gift card... they mailed it certified which cost them $4.33. No note, no letter, no apology...just a gift card... Sadly, you have lost a customer that had supported you before you franchised and that has many family members that recommend you to all of our family that travels to SD and Temecula. We ended up giving the gift card away because we felt like your business doesn't need our support. read more

So, I've lived in the area for years and I've driven by this place hundreds of times. Never seriously considered stopping since I'm not much of a breakfast person. My wife said she's been seeing a lot of ads in her feed and wanted to try so we got the kids up and grabbed some breakfast this morning. It was really good! I got two eggs with bacon and a waffle. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The eggs were just about perfect (I like my scrambled eggs a little dry). The waffle was delicious as well. My wife got the cinnamon pancakes that were essentially cinnamon rolls in pancake form with frosting and all. My son got the chocolate pancakes but didn't care for the chocolate. He did like the bacon as well. My daughter got the kids breakfast with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and fries. She enjoyed it. We were sat at a table right away and have very good service as well even though most tables were already seated. Before we even paid my wife said we had to come back and try lunch.
