Hadn't been here for a while so decided to stop in for some Border Benedict because we loved it so much last time. As we walked up, my wife joked about the "Under new ownership" sign and said "I hope the food is the same!" I assured her that it would be. Man, was I wrong. Border Benedict is supposed to have a sweet corn cake, which is soft. What was served today was a dried out corn muffin. On the sweet corn cake, there's supposed to be carne asada. What was served today was burnt hamburger meat. The green sauce on top was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Bland and unseasoned, just like the hamburger meat. The potatoes served as "home fries" were not good either. If this is the direction that the new ownership is going, then we definitely will not be back. Decided to try this place on impulse.. I had heard they had good food for breakfast so I took my gf today.. the only reason I gave 3 stars was because the food came out fast and our server was nice.. I ordered a ham steak and eggs breakfast and my gf ordered a French toast plate with a side of scrambled eggs and beyond sausage.. when we got our breakfast I was Immediately disappointed.. I expected to see a full plate with a ham steak the size of my hand.. what I got was an oversized plate with 2 little eggs, a small pile of hash browns and a small slice of ham. By no means would I call it a ham steak. It wasn't even enough to make a sandwich... My gfs plate of French toast was huge, of course cuz it's just 4 thick slices of bread.. but her side of eggs and a single beyond sausage, which was an upcharge of $5.00!!! Looked just as pathetic.. I finished my kids meal breakfast in about 5 minutes. I anticipated the bill to be at the very most $30-$35.00. I was shocked to see our breakfast for two came out to $55.00!!! Good presentation, but the food was bland. No seasoning. No color. Just chopped ingredients. N hey I know this sounds harsh, but this area needs more quality food. Pitifully I used ketchup to 'spice' up the food but it still was mid. The concepts of the food are definitely there but the execution is flawed. Breakfast overall has gone up in price so $16 being the average item seems typical, I blame it on the egg shortage. Honestly you're probably better off ordering something sweet like French toast from here as I feel that's harder to mess up on seasoning that way. This place was such a disappointments all my friends said they love going there's so I tried. Mistake. Denny's is way better. And more cost effective. This place was a dump. It needs to be updated. The food needs to be served hotter as well. The worst part is how they treat customers money. So here's what happened. I walked in to the hostess stand to put my name in. The house was nowhere to be found which is normal and OK so I waited. When I look down there were a couple people's credit cards just sitting openly on the hostess table for me to read the number on the card and or I could even walk off with their cards. But I'm a good person and I didn't even look at the number or walk away with their card lol but somebody else might not be so nice.why would they risk this? Anyways I don't want to discourage people but I hope this makes the establishment look at them selves and want to bring better performance to its customers. There are many many many other newer establishments that are willing to update , give better service and more.. why risk losing your customers if you want that money? read more

This used to be a great breakfast spot for me. My family went for breakfast yesterday and we were very disappointed. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. The dish comes with two eggs. I thought the eggs were dove eggs. They were so small that one large egg would be bigger than two of these eggs. The hash browns were over cooked and the gravy tasted different. Maybe they changed the recipe, but it wasn't good. It was not what I was expecting. We were very disappointed and with so many different choices for breakfast, we won't be back!! read more

Hello all, stay away from this place at all cost. Hit up the jersey mikes across the parking lot. I ordered steak and eggs. I received the tiniest little steak, no flavor other than burnt sausages. I ordered well done eggs(burnt if they could), I got back running eggs. I asked to send my eggs back to be finished. The eggs came back 15 minutes later, I was told they were gonna make me new eggs. I could clearly see it was the same two eggs because my cut mark over the yolk was there and char marks on it. No wonder there's no wait. 0 out of 10. French toast tasted chalky from the inside needed to be more moist, jalapeños should have been cooked / mixed in with the eggs and cheese instead of just being placed on top... The food temperature was horrible EVERYTHING was chilled / room temperature, ruined the entire meal experience...Food temperature either hot or cold as supposed to be, makes a great difference to customers when they are eating, it can change the whole enjoyment of the meal...
