I have lived in Joliet since 2001, and found Bronkberry Farms a few years back. Last year (after I bought all my garden plants from Home Depot) I stopped in to see what they had to offer. I was so impressed that I told Jennifer (the owner) I will be back next year to buy my garden plants from you. Fast forward to 2025. As mentioned, I went to Bronkberry Farms for my tomato, peppers and cucumber plants. For the past 12 years I have been looking for a tomato plant called the 4th of July. Until now, NOBODY has ever heard of such a breed. I talked to an associate at Bronkberry and she said 'Maybe ask Jennifer?' Which I did and right away she said 'YES! I've heard of the 4th of July tomato.' Right then and there, Jennifer stopped what she was doing, called her supplier and ordered a flat of these particular tomato plants. Needless to say, I was back the following week and bought ALL my garden plants. Including my 4th of July tomatoes. All in all I filled my garden with 4 types of tomatoes, 3 types of cucumbers, 3 types of peppers (sweet and hot), peas, basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme and even catnip for my little kitty. I will be an avid customer from here on out. Thank you Jennifer and staff for a very pleasant encounter. I'll be back for any and all gardening needs. The shop is very nice as well. Have a great growing season!! Kirk Lagemann

This place is amazing! It has everything you could want to run a really cute event! Last night I had an engagement party for my son. The place was clean and the decor there is fantastic. They have goats and chickens and all are great to watch. The hayrack rides were thrilling for the kids. The owners are awesome too! Book your next event there and you will not be disappointed.

We love Bronkberry Farms!! The fall fest was a great event and it was wonderful to see so many people attending it. The vendors were great and offered some awesome products. Also I couldn't believe they offered free face painting for the kids. My granddaughter was so excited. Then we got to the decorated tractor for pictures. What a great idea! No cost to get in and also can take some cute fall pics for free. Thank you to the Bronk family for doing this! Also I don't mind paying a little more for some beautiful pumpkins and to support Local!!

I can't believe I haven't been coming here for years and just discovering this place this year…read more This place is a great family farm for anybody of all ages. Most of the things here are free. Pumpkins that you can pick are at very reasonable prices. Food and drinks are at reasonable prices too as well as other merchandise and other fall related things that go on here. They had a corn maze that I did not check out at all. Visiting the animals was probably one of my favorite things at the farm. It's not jam-packed like a lot of the popular locations. The only downside I would say was that the staff is a little bit untrained especially when it comes to money handling since the one cashier when I was paying for pumpkins didn't know how to count cash even though I gave him exact change. Overall, you should not pass up on this place at all. 4.5 Stars

They have a huge play area with wooden structures such as a school bus, fire truck, and castle. My young girls enjoyed the pretend play on the vehicles and going on the slides. There is also a section with huge stacks that are perfect for climbing and taking group pictures. Some things to take note of: 1) There is a section with plenty of port-a-potties. We were there in the morning so the port-a-potties were all relatively clean and unused. 2) The food section isn't that big but service is quick. We tried the cheese pizza, poor boy, pork chop on a stick, cheeseburger, and donuts. We would definitely order the poor boy, a cube steak sandwich, and pork chop again. They did an excellent job with grilling the meats and both had a nice sear while retaining moisture. The donuts were mini-size and came in baker's dozen so it was easy for our young girls to dig in.

You'd think for that price, drinks or food would have been waived? nope! Not at all! The food trucks who were there, the employees should have bought from the trucks because who in their right mind is wanting to pay $4 for a small street taco?! Not only that, but the steak tacos were more like grissel tacos less filling and more expensive! I wound up throwing away my food and drink, thats how bad the food and drinks were! That whole event should have costed only $10! Not $25! Will not be going to another event like this from this specific farm again!

This place is pretty large with a lot to do! They have a couple of different playground areas, a small train, a giant corn maze, jumping pillows, a giant slide, plenty of animals. There are plenty of places for photo ops and they even have a couple of places where it will take your picture and send it to you via email or text. They have a sports area where you can throw various balls. We missed the dino outbreak earlier this year, but my son still enjoyed the dinosaur walk through. It'd be helpful if they had some brushes in the fossil digging area. I tried their apple caramel pie. It wasn't nearly as good as another local pumpkin farm (Johansen), but it was still tasty. I feel like we didn't even explore every area of the farm and we were still entertained for a few hours.

When you initially walk onto the property there's a sight that has an arrow pointing towards the direction of the store and another arrow pointing towards the direction of the ticket booth. I didn't go to the ticket booth so I'm not sure what that area entails. This review will be restricted to the store and their pumpkin patch selection that's located out front. I really enjoyed the store. They have a bunch of treats and knick knacks available for purchase. I ended up buying 1/2 dozen of donuts. 3 were apple cider and the other 3 were their pumpkin donuts. The pumpkin ones were pretty tasty, but their Apple Cider donuts take the cake by far. So delicious! As far as the pumpkin selection out front I thought it was a little sad. I found much healthier looking pumpkins at Walmart. Overall, it's a cute place to bring your family especially during the holidays. Will definitely be back for those donuts!!

The cows are my favorite! I wish I could give this place a 5 star but this last visit we lost 2 kids in our group because the hay stacks have two exits. I wish they could block one side off. Also, a SOBER, careful adult in our group almost got plowed in the head with one of those hammers from the strong man game while she was walking by a man doing it. They really should put a staff member there AND put a fence around it. Those adults having fun aren't looking around every time they swing... it's a recipe for disaster.

AUTUMN INDECISION I…read morewant to like Johansen Farms, but the cynical part of me sees through their charade. To me, dunking on a small business is usually 'no bueno', but after two visits to Johansen's fall petting zoo I find myself wondering "THIS is what we paid for??" Very few things are truly free these days, and I get that, but admission to Johansen's does not fall in the realm of good value. Located along Boughton Rd in Bolingbrook, Johansen's is open during the spring/summer as a nursery and farm (April-July), during autumn as a pumpkin patch, and briefly in the winter to sell Christmas trees. On busy weekends in October, police have a lane blocked off to shepherd traffic in & out of the parking lot. On that note, parking is free, thankfully, as is walking around their pumpkin patch. I saw a review from 2017 - a mere seven years ago - that mentions admission was $13.50. It's nearly doubled since that time! $23 allows you to feed the goats, enjoy a small corn maze, hayride, a "train" (actually just a bumpy trailer pull with tiny, uncomfortable carriages), and rinky-dink mini golf. Kids have to be 42" to bounce on the myriad inflatables, however, anyone over 2yo is full price. How many 2-4 year olds have you met that are 42" tall?? Apart from Kareem Abdul Jabbar's kids, how about NONE. I'm sure Johansen's knows this, so they're screwing plenty of people with this sneaky little exploit. The pumpkin patch is nice; we found an orange specimen that was a solid 9/10, with everyone in my group agreeing it was the roundest and most picturesque gourd they'd seen in a long time. Apple cider donuts are decent and you can buy hot cider at their bake shop counter. * TL;DR * Johansen's fall festivities are cute, though you get shockingly little for the money. You'll have to pay full price for your 3-year-old, but due to height restrictions on their bouncy houses, they won't be able to go in. Adults aren't allowed on inflatables, ditto for the ponies. In fact, grown-ups will spend most of their time standing around, which I can do for free at home (or literally anywhere else). Oh, but don't despair, as you can join their fanclub for a whopping $1 off general admission! *sprays confetti* gee, thanks guys! My wife likes them because they're local, but sorry honey, I'm done-zo with Johansen's. We'll take our annual (free) picture on the hay bales, but if it's my money we're spending, next year we're making the trip to Bengtson's.
