Our dad has only been here a couple of weeks but so far we all seem to be very pleased with Brookdale. It has been a confusing and challenging transition as it is the forth move for dad in as many months, and working with hospice umbrella of care has added to it. But in those two weeks we see him happy, as independent as possible, pleasd with the staff, food and his ability to enjoy privacy or the residence for happy hour each day. This has been amazing to us after losing mom 18mo ago and him wanting to live alone. The admin Lisa and nursing staff are available, friendly and caring. They have communicated with us constantly to make sure we know he is getting the care and medicines necessary. The care givers are always full of smiles and have the toughest of jobs for a vast array of needs and personalities. The kitchen staff, led by Lolita, are all great. Within days dad was greated by name when going to the dining hall and they keep track of his dietary needs while encouraging the best meals for him. I would say the food looks real good too! As far as the facility goes it has a great entry lobby/lounge, wide and well lit hallways and a nice layout with many rooms to use and explore. We visit several times per week so we have gotten to know the place and people well already. read more

My grandfather was placed here and let me tell you it was a complete nightmare! Let's start with the heartless care.....there are not enough caregivers per person to care for. My grandpa was given a necklace with a device to press when he needed aid to use the restroom or other needs and they wouldn't reach him for 30ish minutes and he would then sit there in urine and feces, when all he wanted was for someone to help him to get up and use the restroom. What if it was an emergency? What if he was desperate for help? They wouldn't get to him for half an hour or more! When he would go eat in the dining area they would take the same amount of time to take him back to his room, he would sit there for 20-30 min after he finished. I timed it a few times when I would go visit to see how long they would take. One time I saw a puddle under his bed and I told the staff he needed to be changed and they told me his cup of water fell, which was a complete lie. The staff is very heartless with zero patience. He was there not even more than 3 months and declined quickly while at the facility before passing. When I visited him he was scared and crying just wanting to return home. This was a place to help get him get strong and back on his feet but in turn the complete opposite happened. One time I over heard a staff member yelling at an elderly patient in the hall way. Once they realized I was there they quickly apologized trying to justify. His restroom would go a week without being cleaned, to the point that we started doing it ourselves at times. I was warned by a hospice nurse from the start to be careful there because they will try and get away with as much as they can unless you visit your loved one all the time and they are aware you're watching. Please beware sending your loved one here, do your research. If you do please visit them! I moved into Brookdale North Euclid a senior living facility.on January 17, 2025, four months ago. Complaints yes, enough that my daughter asked if I wanted to move. NO! I feel safe and secure. I am particularly impressed with staff response to emergencies. I fell, 3 staff arrived in under 2 minutes, saw this same response again this week. Staff quickly learn your name, address you with respect and really seem to care and want to do a good job. Supervisors and managers respond with lightening speed to questions and complaints. May not immediately get your answer or problem solved. BUT you know you were heard. You can be as busy , active or inactive as you wish and/or are able. There is plenty to do. Residents are respectful of each other and most seem to like it here. Is it perfect? NO. That being said I would complain if I had a personal maid and chef. I am a very picky eater, allergies and tastes, they work hard to please me. They couldn't pay me enough to work here with old folks like me. My grandpa lost his wife 2.5 years ago and he wanted to be closer to us. He was so nervous and a little scared about getting out of his home that he's been on for over 30 years. My mom found this place only 20 min away from most of his grand children and they allowed his small dog stay with him. The staff has made my grandpa feel like he's part of a family at his apartments and made him feel safe. The staff is very welcoming when we come visit and Lisa T. Is always available and kind when my family is calling about the smallest things regarding my grandpas health, and always will to listen and assist as much as she can. Not only is the carpet full of urine and feces but the entire community is infested with rats , Abby T aka Lisa , leaving comments without any "substance " ?????? Well here is your substance . I was at Brookdale N Euclid about three months ago for a tour as my sister and I were looking for a place for our mother , this place was recommended by a friend who's mother resides there so I felt bad expressing my concerns out loud . Although Brookdale does look somewhat inviting from the outside being that it's on a street with historical homes, when you walk in you are blasted in the face with a very unpleasant odor. It reeks of urine and looks just plain unsanitary. Carpets are stained , Residents sitting in wheelchairs in the front lobby look depressed and unkept .5 mins into our tour I see a worker running around pouring Carpet odor eliminating powder she must've seen my family and I walking around covering our nose . I wanted to cancel the tour and run out I felt we had seen enough but I felt bad for our poor little tour guide Mia who was really trying to convince us to sign on the dotted line I felt truly embarrassed for her as she tried to play off the odor. I continued on with the tour because I didn't want to add to her humiliation . As we made our way towards what Mia called the "activity room " we catch who Mia said was the activities coordinator on her phone while the residents entertained themselves , very rude lady who didn't introduce herself in fact she didn't notice us standing there . The provided me with peace of mind and to me that was the most important detail. I thank them for everything they did the atmosphere was upbeat and the residents and stuff were very friendly. This company is horrible. This applies to both their local facility, Brookdale North Euclid and their corporate office. My family placed my 99 year-old grandfather here and within 6 days he had a medical emergency which hospitalized him. His doctors said he can no longer stay at Brookdale North Euclid because he needs round-the-clock care. My family tried to get a refund and it's been over a month in dealing with this. Here are some of the appalling ways we've been treated in person and on the phone: They hide from my aunt when she goes in to speak to them about the issue; I had a corporate person named Jackie forward me to a voicemail without first telling me, because she didn't want to deal with me anymore; it takes over a week for anyone to call us back; they are in meetings when we call and they don't have a backup person to talk to us. This has been a terrible experience for our entire family. read more

My mom has been here about 6 weeks now. I am very pleased. It is clean, and well kept, which is very important. The staff are friendly and courteous, they all seem to be very happy working there and they seem to genuinely care for the residents. First of all this location sucks and for the most part management needs to be reported for lack of common sense. I advise all of you to stay away from this location. The kitchen is dirty and filthy since the dining room. The floor is black. The menu's are constantly changing because management is to lazy to buy the correct products. I would give NEGATIVE stars if i could. I advise all of you to never bring any family member to this location. This place is a disgrace! I will start by saying this place stinks of urine and cheap air freshener. Now, by seeing these pictures of rats here someone has posted, it's just confirmed that when I was there with my friend visiting her father, everything we were told by him, other residents and some of the staff, it's all true. There's the pics for proof. Disgusting! The Health department needs to do something quick. If you have a loved one here, you should be worried. We were told rats run around the kitchen and have also been seen in the residents room's. When resident's complain about anything, they are singled out by management and treated like "trouble makers". Management "airs out" personal issues they have with some residents who have trouble paying rent for whatever reason and are ignored or gossipped about. The food looked disgusting although my friend was told during the tour that residents get "5 star restaurant setting" at every meal. Oh please...not the slop I seen on plates. Just happened to be reading the awful things people have written about Brookdale. My mother has been there for 8 mos now and she is very pleased with the care she receives. All the aides have been very helpful and friendly with her. If I have question or concern I speak with the Lisa and whatever the problem was it is taken care of right away and she will always make sure to stay in contact with me. Bottom line this has been very good for my mom and would recommend anyone to check out for their loved ones read more

zero stars if i had the option. this place is an absolute joke! i wouldn't send anyone of my family members here. management should be embarrassed. its a run down dump. dinning service is a joke. dinner at a nursing home is something these residents look forward too! but not when it takes over 25 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich. 1 person for the entire dinner service??!? at least thats the only people i saw....nobody can do that! i dare anyone to try. there is too many of us. i thought it was a joke when i first walked in. after further observation, i have confirmed i will never set foot in this establishment again. management needs to step it up or just turn it over to someone who can actually help this place. this place is in need of a miracle. food was also not great. read more

I just left Brookdale and up until two months ago I would have not ever considered leaving however when the new executive director came on board her name is Lisa to everything change it has changed I feel very bad for the staff who aren't treated kindly and I certainly don't think that the new executive director with her threats of if you don't like it there's the door is very warm and giving for a Assisted Living Center I'm sorry to say that I'm very disappointed in the way Brookdale is handled now and if anybody wants to go there please don't please don't there is no weekly nurse there she's only there once a week and you never see her the executive director hides behind her office there's barely any interaction with the activity director and most of the other residents and if it weren't for certain staff members I think I would have left long time ago but I'm grateful for one thing it helped me when I was very ill but that was like 2 years ago so think twice if you go there read more

My father has been a resident of Brookdale North Euclid for the past several months. We have been very impressed with the staff and with his care. From the moment we began the moving in process, marketing director, Rebecca, & others were extremely helpful and so respectful of my dad. My dad has not been easy to deal with, yet workers and admin continue to care for him kindly every day. They help him with his beloved dog, too! They are honest, hard-working and loving. Rooms have been nicely modernized since we'd looked at this community in the past. I notice all residents seem very content and I witness the treatment and respect given, so important to these residents. We are thankful to this community! read more

This place is supposedly assisted living. Each resident is given a pendant to summon caregivers. My father or stepmother would press their pendant, and no one would come until 20 minutes or longer. In the dining room, their is only one scheduled time, and you might sit there for 90 minutes before getting your meal. Maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping are all managed by one supervisor, who is long on promises and short on following through. Exercise classes are held in the lobby, which makes it difficult if you are visiting or conducting business. The only elevator from the underground parking was broken for almost two weeks. They say the rooms have kitchenettes, but none of the kitchenettes have sinks; which means you wash your dishes in the bathroom (nasty)! My parents got a 4-month promotional 1/2 price rate, but were so dissatisfied that they moved after 90 days! Despite losing community fees, and paying moving expenses twice, they feel they are safer moving back to the senior independent living facility they first moved from for more care. I also noticed several deficiencies which were reported to the Executive Director, but took months to address. The State Agency should be visiting to check these out! Visit more than once or twice, and talk to residents (without staff) before signing any contracts. read more

Dad moved in two years ago, and we've had nothing but caring and loving support for him after Mom died. He is diabetic and in a wheelchair, and the staff have been tremendous, even when he gets a bit grumpy! And they have worked with me to give him personalized individual care, for his medications and diet and mobility. He has improved both mentally and physically, and for that, I am grateful. The entire facility has had a facelift and Dad enjoys his meals and companions. Don't be swayed by reviewers who don't have loved ones there or are a resident themselves. We are very happy in this community - please come see for yourself. Take a tour, meet the residents, engage with staff. Get to know them, well, as I have. Friends, this pandemic is tough on everyone... Thank you to the tireless staff for ensuring health and safety, too. You don't deserve the negative reviews. It's a comfort he is here. read more
