Small seating area in the back/side. Gets really packed during the weekends but generally not too bad. 2 registers-one for lunch sandwiches and one for more quick on the go stuff like bagels and coffee. They have lunch special sandwich combos-sandwich + chips + drinks = $7.99 They also have breakfast bagels of all kinds and lunch sandwiches with all types of meat/cheese/veggie/bread combos. I like their Russian dressing and coleslaw sandwiches. However, the sandwiches are not particularly great or anything. They are kind of dry and slightly bland. It's just "OK." Their bagels are SO bad. Undercooked and giant. It's the only bagel place in the neighborhood and every once in a while I forget how bad it is and go back and always regret it. Every time I've gotten a bagel there it has been soggy like they put cream cheese on it and then microwaved it instead of toasting. So I usually love this bagel shop but I guess they were really busy one day. We ordered 2 lox bagels with extra toppings for pick up. When they were brought back home I realized my lox bagel only had sprouts and cream cheese on it. Kind of upsetting when you pay $8.50 + 0.50 cents for any additional toppings when you only get the cream cheese and 1 topping out of the 4 I asked for. This place is CASH ONLY! Went in on a Saturday morning and despite how busy it was the line moved quick and I got my order faster than I thought it would take. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel with light cream cheese to go. It was fresh and really good but too much cream cheese for my liking. BUT as soon as I took a few bites I noticed 2 strands of hair in the middle of the bagel...I had already left the area so I couldn't go back to show them but after seeing that I got grossed out. As a native Long Islander, it can be quite frustrating to live in the Bagel Desert that is Northern VA. I drive 20 minutes from my house in Annandale to come here, because frankly there are no other good NY bagel stores around and this place scratches that itch. However, if this were a bagel store on LI, I would probably give it a 2 or 3 stars for the following reasons: 1) You should only ever toast a fresh bagel in a bagel shop if the customer asks you to. If you are doing that as your default, either a) your bagels are not actually fresh or b) you have never actually eaten a bagel in Brooklyn. Cmon guys!!! 2) I feel like I am consistently overcharged here. Usually only by like 70 or 80 cents, so by the time I realize it, it's too late to make a fuss, but it is definitely frustrating. If you need to raise your prices to cover the cost of inflation, that's okay- I get that, but change the prices on your signs so I don't feel like I'm getting fleeced every time I come in! I was born in Brooklyn and maintain that bagels made in Brooklyn are the best bagels I have ever tasted. Calling something "Brooklyn Bagel Bakery" really sets up expectations that are very challenging to meet and sadly, are unmet by this bagel store. My whole-wheat bagel lacked the consistency of a New York-style bagel which is typically soft, chewy and doughy. In New York, bagels are boiled, which thickens the crust, but locks the liquid inside of the bagel, thereby causing the expansion of the dough. The result is that characteristic chewiness that I love. I do not know the method of preparation here, but I do no know that it does not produce something that tastes like the bagels I enjoy in New York. read more

I only frequent this place when I want to grab a quick sandwich or a quick bagel. I think this is a great local bagel shop in the Courthouse corridor if you are trying to get a quick bite to eat. The staff is pretty friendly and courteous and it is nice to know you can watch them prepare your food as well. They have pretty decent lunch specials that start at 4.99 and the portions are very generous. They also serve pizza as well. There bagel selection is pretty extensive and they are a nice size as well. Just a quick reminder to bring cash with you because they do not have a credit card machine on hand. read more

I get a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel probably once a week and last week I went to another establishment with the same order and it just was not the same at all. The bagels here have that delicious bagel-y flavor and aren't too doughy. I've had the everything, plain, and onion bagels here and they all were phenomenal. I love that they put salt on their everything bagels (something that not all places do) and the onion bagel had bits of dried onion on it to add crunch. I will say that they toast their bagels pretty lightly, so if you want your bagel more brown, ask them to double toast. Overall, best bagels I've had south of the Mason-Dixon Line. It moved very quick though, so make sure you are ready to order when you jump in line. The staff are incredible. They don't write anything down. The person asks for your order, makes it, and delivers it to you. I don't know how they remember it and our faces, but they get it down. Now for the food. I got the everything bagel with bacon, egg and garlic and herb cream cheese. It was so delicious. The eggs is cooked fresh on the grill. Not microwaveable fake stuff. Loved it all. I've been here several times and the bagels have been inconsistent. The bagels themselves are good but the quantity of filling has been hit or miss. I usually order the NY lox with no capers or the sausage, egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Some days, I'll receive a good amount of filling and some days, they'll give me one slice of salmon. Also, they don't listen to your order sometimes. The last time I went there, I ordered no capers and they put capers in my bagel. My boyfriend ordered avocado in his two bagel sandwiches and they didn't put it in either so he paid extra for no reason. They do have good bagels but sometimes they're stingy on the filling quantity. Also, if you get avocado, I'd check before leaving that they actually put it in your sandwich. read more

Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. I live near here and have tried to give them multiple chances. Each time, they've gotten my order wrong. I've ordered and paid for three BECs with avocado and each time they've forgotten the avocado. When i mentioned something the next time, i got attitude.
