    Tofu soup
    Abbe W.

The food here doesn't seem to coming out pipping hot. The Soon Tofu was decent but not boiling hot enough to cook the raw egg. I simmered the egg and broke up the yolk so it got cooked. The kalbi was pretty good. We also ordered the seafood pancake which was pretty good. My cousin got the marinated raw crab. She said it was good. Service was a little slow and basically just 1 guy running around serving us. He said the other server had an accident so it was a little unexpected. The place got pretty busy after 6pm. Our dinner reservation was at 5:30 pm.

The staffs were nice. We were greeted and offered seats right away. What we ordered: Seafood Pancake- It was pretty good, a bit thicker than other places and sauce was okay. Donkatsu- The pork was good and portion was good for the price. Pork Belly BBQ- It was a tab dry and a bit bland. Wasn't my favorite. Banchan- The plates are cute but made the portion of banchan very small. Banchan were good, we had to ask for extra. Would come again if I'm in the area and try something different.

Came here on a Thursday around 5pm, no wait no crowd, only two other parties came in after of us. This place is a popular chain and they have a location in Concord and Hayward I believe. The bonchon was delicious! I ordered the beef tofu stew with a brisket combo. I liked the soup, but the brisket wasn't my favorite. Definitely nothing too special but you can never go wrong with tofu stew :) This place replaced Bowl'd BBQ which used to be another Korean spot. There's free parking in the shopping plaza.

This place was soooo freaking yummy!! Downtown Hayward is glowing up bc of spots like these. My favorite was the Bossam (steamed pork belly) as it tasted super clean but so flavorful. +10 for pairing it with the radish that's included! Their seafood pancake was also super delicious and a must try when choosing an appetizer. We got seated right away on a Tuesday night and surprisingly it was busy but the place was spacious and filled with many tables to sit at.

Jokbal .... Came out in a sizzling stone bowl. Grossest jokbal we've ever had

First off. They said they did not take reservations but heard the host ask a party if they had a reservation? Second, Host totally skipped our party which was on the waitlist and gave our table away to a grp that walked up after us. Our table of 10 ordered 10 items, waiter read our orders back to confirm. 2 out of our 10 dishes came out and we waited and waited and waited... 10 mins, 20 mins then 30 mins, finally went in and asked our waiter if the other dishes are coming out, and he had the nerve to say, "oh what else did you order?" Came out and we had to reorder what was missing... at the end, we figured service was shitty cus service fee was already applied to our bill. Service totally sucked, food sucked, dish came out completely not what the menu described and everything was just overpriced. Never agn.

Wow this place for lunch is amazingly affordable!! So glad we stopped by. John the manager/owner and workers were very friendly & helpful. Great portions for lunch, same as dinner portion, just cheaper! I had Katsu Chicken. Crispy & flavorful. My husband had Pork Belly. It came steaming to our table. He seamed to enjoy his dish too. Can't believe all the sides come with all this too. Armsphere, spacious & good vibes. Definitely, stopping here for lunch again in the near future.

This is located where the previous Bowl'd use to be and right across from Ohjane. The inside is actually really pretty, they decorated it nicely. The music is normal KPop with the TV display music videos that don't pair with the music. The lighting is very nice and there's a lot of distance between seating so it's not squished. The booths I would avoid if you're plus size above 18/20 then it'll be super uncomfortable. You need to order through the little touch screen. They're pretty hands off on interaction and don't check on you often unless it's to deliver the food or give you your check. We only ordered the shareable spicy beef short rib jjim. It's not spicy or even close to spicy. It's actually really sweet and we couldn't finish it bc we started to feel sick from how sweet it was. The pumpkin vegetable inside was undercooked. They add bell pepper to it which is the first time I've ever had this dish with. In general every single vegetable served in it was undercooked. We ordered the cheese on top but as you can see from my picture it was only just melted enough to not be formed and about 10min of the dish being served the cheese was no longer melted and just one glob that didn't pull. The cheese was just solid and we didn't bother eating it anymore. The meat itself was actually good if you only ate the meat and take off as much of the sauce possible otherwise it would be way too sugary. The rice was cold and mushy. The banchan itself, only the kimchi was worth eating. Every other part of the banchan was flavorless unless it was the kimchi. The kimchi was actually spicier than the "spicy" short rib we got. In the end, we stopped eating about 25% in because we didn't enjoy the food. From the pictures, you can see what we got, the food was gimmicky and we had to take the rest of the food home to remove the undercooked vegetables and use the beef with a different sauce and actually blow torch our own cheese. I don't recommend ordering any of the beef short rib shareables. It was way overpriced for under cooked vegetables, cold rice and a glob of cheese (the cheese was actually extra too). -1 star for the undercooked vegetables -1 star for charging extra for cheese they didn't put on correctly that it turned solid -1 star for how sugary the "spicy" dish was and how the banchan kimchi was actually spicer than the dish itself

Tang Jip's old restaurant name was Bowl'd Alameda -- when Bowl'd told me they are revamping their interior, menu, and food quality... I was super excited, because back then their food quality wasn't the best. With this new and improved Tang Jip, from food presentation and the taste... it definitely improved A LOT! I'm really amazed on how flavorful everything is as well as the portion size! My favorite was definitely their dolsot bibimbap beef and their dumpling rice cake soup! The service here is friend and quick, I would definitely come back here again :)

We sat outside because we had our dog. It was so windy and cold but they do have heaters outside. Just ask them to turn them on :) it warms up nicely The side dishes - the radish kimchi and bean sprouts were our favorite. We asked them to give us a lot and they came through lol it was so good! The fried chicken was nice and crispy. Not too oily. The seolleontang was plain as it should be and you just add what you want to it. The combo we got tofu soup and bulgogi. Good! Everything delicious. Staff are so nice. Sitting outside may be a bit hard to get service but that is ok

I like coming to Tang Jip for their lunch specials (weekdays 11a-2p), there's a menu for $12 entrees! The staff is friendly, the side dishes are good, and the interior is nice. Seollongtang (3.5/5) - I don't usually order this soup at Korean spots, but this was tasty. It's a milky, rich ox bone broth with noodles and brisket. This taste profile is subtle, it was pretty light even when I added salt and pepper. Soondubu (3.5/5) - Solid soondubu! Chicken Bulgogi (3/5) - Solid chicken bulgogi, could be more tender.

We came here on Saturday for lunch. It used to be another Korean restaurant. The whole place looks remodeled. I love the flower light chandelier on the ceiling. We waited maybe 5 minutes for a table. They have ipads on each table for ordering your food. The menu is small so it didn't take long to decide. We ordered a seafood pancake and japchae. They were huge portions plus all the little side dish that came with it was plenty. Food was great as always. We'll definitely come back. We love Korean food. Too bad they don't have kimbabs here.

Had the pleasure of enjoying a comfort meal here the other night. The restaurant seems small when you enter but as you walk down the rows of tables, there are actually more seats than you think! I really appreciate how some of the center seats have a a tall barrier between the left and right side tables. Upon being seated, I was offered hot tea or water and opted in for both. Of course I was very happy to find out that it's roasted barley tea, or booricha. It was piping hot, so definitely be patient before you sip on it! Each table was equipped with tablets for ordering so there's no need to wait for someone to take your order. I ordered the Spicy Wagyu Galbi Tang for $23 which also came with rice. The banchan (side dishes) came out shortly after I ordered my meal. They were served in quite large bowls. The banchan selection reminded me of being at my grandma's house. Very simple but delicious. The texture on the fish cake was exactly how I like it too, a bit chewier rather than too soft. My soup came out in about 15 minutes. It was served with two big beef ribs! The presentation was lovely with the shredded eggs and beef bones sticking out on both sides. The beef just about slid off the rib bone when I took my chopstick to it to try a piece! It was very tender, but a bit lacking in flavor. The broth itself was also a tad bit watery for my taste. I do think the portion size was worth the price. I did come maybe an hour and a half before closing so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for the soup itself.

Food is ok. Felt price is a little expensive for the quantity. Good place to caught up with friends.

The greens were tasty; cornbread was better than some, as it was real cornbread and not corn cake; the yams were whipped and tasted like sweet potato pie filling, but with insufficient sugar, no butter, no nutmeg, & no caramelization. My nephew, who is 15 and has a voracious appetite, wasn't a fan of any of it except the mac & cheese, cause he apparently ate all of it, so I can't comment on that dish. He kept saying the yams had nothing but cinnamon. NONE of the meats seemed to be very well seasoned, not even the links, which was very puzzling. Maybe they make their own links and just don't put in much seasoning. Ribs and links were moist, but lacked flavor. Chicken & brisket were dry, & flavorless. "When all other meats fail, grab a hot link!" Not at this spot. On the upside, sauces were on the side, and the rib flavor did improve when I dunked the ribs in the sauce This could have been one of their off days, but if the food there is like this all the time, maybe their intended market prefers low to no sodium and dried flavorless meats.

First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. But what really stands out is this: It has been a LONG time since I've experienced service this genuine, this intentional, and this excellent. Not rushed, not careless--EXCEPTIONAL. Management, if you are reading this--please understand--you have some powerful people on your team. Candalen and Aaron are the kind of employees that elevate a brand. They are the reason people come back. They are the reason I will be telling others. This wasn't just a good experience. This was the kind of experience that turns customers into loyal supporters. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.

With all the sides, I really do $44 is a good deal. You order at a little kiosk at your table, but there's also servers who can help you, so it's nice to have both option options. It can get pretty busy here on weekends but on weekdays it's really chill so I usually come on weekdays. Honestly I'm in bed rotting with no food or water in my system and this sounds soooo good. It truly does fulfill the craving!

I rarely review restaurants, but as a Korean American born and raised in the Bay, this place…read moredeserves my highest recommendation. Food quality, service, cleanliness, and ambiance all exceeded my expectations; I haven't checked ALL of those boxes at any other KBBQ spot in the Bay Area. The manager (I think his name was Eddy) and his crew were beyond accommodating. Check this place out--it's a must!
