I've been craving pizza for a couple days but haven't been in an area where the reviews were stellar. Today, I was in luck. Brothers Pizza was close by and seemed to be fairly popular. All of the diminished star reviews had to do with delivery wait times. I walked in and was greeted by a patron sitting at the bar. Obviously a regular, he introduced me to one of the two guys behind the counter, Manny. Then he began telling me what I should order. Manny, the owner, took over where the patron left off. Manny said they had pizza by the slice and shot a thumb over his shoulder toward the giant pizzas sitting on a table behind the counter. As I glanced at the pizzas, a fly lit on one; hmmm...won't be having the slice. But, those things happen and I had other options. Mario, the other pizza slinger was busy preparing an assortment of pizzas. A whole mushroom (hold the flies) pizza was settled upon and Manny told me it was a good choice. I thought so too. A party of three first responders walked in behind me. They ordered the slice. Should I say something? Uh...no. If one gets sick, the other two know the way to the ER I'm sure. Into the oven their slices went. My pizza came out in a little over 5 minutes. It looked great. The crust was perfect. I asked for it to go and Manny boxes it up for me. I got in the car and headed to work. A few miles down the road and I couldn't stand it anymore. The smell of the mushrooms was amazing. I opened the lid and took a bite. That was an excellent pizza. The cheese, mushrooms, and crust were all very well done. If I am in the area again, I will be back. I definitely recommend the pizza (fresh cooked of course). This pizza used to be so freakin' good... I don't know what happened to them. Ordered a Sicilian styled pizza for delivery and everyone in my family agrees that what we got was sub-par. Toppings were fresh... a bit uncooked, but edible. The sauce's quality was below average and I would even go as far as to say it tasted like it came out of a can. But the worst part was the bread; it was dry, thick and so hard to chew I'd say it tasted like it was old. The whole thing felt as if the pizza had needed a couple minutes more inside the oven. Saddest part is that no one here wants to even reheat the other half that was left. We used to eat Brother's pizza all the time, especially the one in Magnolia when we lived on the other end of The Woodlands, but we moved and couldn't drive out there anymore; so when one opened near us we were thrilled. Ordered delivery. Order arrived on time. Pizza smelled amazing. Opened it and saw it was just slightly undercooked for any NY pizza (I grew up in NYC/NJ and am admittedly a pizza snob) The bigger problem is that the pizza was not cut. So in my hotel room with an uncut pizza. Luckily it's a suite with a kitchenette that had a sharp knife. I pick up my slice. it had onions on it as ordered but all the more reason the crust needed to be cooked more due to the water in the onions. Soggy pizza isn't a total deal breaker if the rest is legit. The sauce is way too sweet to be NY .. that sauce has a tang to it that those who have had it know but can't always describe. Little Caesars sauce is closer. Then I'll add my $8.00 dinner salad was lettuce olives and two small pieces of tomato with pepperoni tossed in. There was a slice of provolone and salami rolled up in a rosette in the middle. Waste of money for sure. The pizza was not worth the calories and it was disappointing given the reviews and the recommendations for the original location. The brothers need a trip to NY to get back to their roots and run quality control in their locations. Their Mills road location had been recommended to me several times by people from NY/NJ so they had to be doing something right there. Given the reviews of this location, perhaps it was an off night. But I won't be spending my money to find out. read more

Called in at 4:30 for take out. The order was ready at 6pm... they quoted 30 minutes. They stapled the salads and pasta. We got home and were missing an item. I've been very busy so I've been eating FF lately. I swore off BP two years ago when the taste changed to a more generic cheese and my pizza was delivered sideways (see pics). Well I thought I would give them a chance again JIC. Well I was pleasantly surprised with a pretty decent thin crust pepperoni pizza. The cheese actually tasted better and had more flavor. No home run but solid 3rd base. What was a nice feature of the large pizza was the fact that I was able to hold a whole slice and the middle was done and didn't flop or get flaccid! I went to Steel Pizza, enjoyed it but, not as much as Mr. Manny's place (Brother's Pizza) They offer the closes taste to NYC pizza in The Greater-Houston area, you hardly ever can grab a slice of NYC cheesecake! The atmosphere is very quaint and you can find tons of kids going in & out of this location because of the SafeWay Driving School down the way. Things to try: -Pizza-All kinds!! Love this place. Good pizza made by guys who are always glad you came. The staff continually interacts with the customers waiting for to-go orders and those seated along the front. It is quite common to hear the staff refer to customers by name. Proprietor Manny embodies this customer-first personality. These guys work HARD. When it's busy, they are busting their butts to churn out delicious pizzas. I just don't see that much, anymore. And they are just as friendly when they are busy - managing to visit with customers while tossing dough and spreading sauce. All this would be a moot point if the food wasn't tasty. We LOVE the pizza here. We LOVE the salads, too. We've enjoyed the few other items we've tried - such as the baked ziti, as well. My buddy loves the calzones. As a die hard NY pizza lover, I have to give 5 stars to brothers pizza. They are every bit as tasty as some of my favorite New York joints. I usually order the pepperoni pizza or the hamburger pizza. I am sure the other pizzas are equally delicious, but I keep it pretty simple when it comes to pizza. If you dine-in, they have a pretty decent bottled beer selection ( peroni being my favorite). I'm a born and raised New Yorker. This is a tale of TWO pizzas. I've been there twice for slices, which were excellent! About as close to NY pizza as I've gotten anywhere outside NYC. So I decided to buy a pie, and since I was alone, I got the large instead of the extra large. I think this was a BIG MISTAKE!! My guess, when they make and cut the dough, they use the same ball of dough for either the large or extra large. Thus, and it sure felt and tasted that way, the large pizza was more "doughy". The pie wasn't as thin as the slices I had (normally a slice pie is big too), and to me, a self proclaimed pizza snob, it threw off the entire taste of the pie. These cheese coverage wasn't quite as good either. I haven't given up on this place, but I may go to the other on Woodlands Parkway (where I went the first time). But I won't order a large again. When I do, I hope it will be like the slices. SIDE NOTE: When I went to the Woodlands Parkway location, the service was AMAZING! VERY nice! They were ok at this location too, but it took over 10 minutes after ordering to get a slice. read more
