I've gone here twice now for work lunches and both times were a great experience. It is located within the palisades mall and is pretty easy to find. The space is large with plenty of seating and a bar area. The service both times was great with everyone being extremely helpful and accommodating for our larger group. They start you off with some complimentary corn bread and it is delicious. The menu has all of the usual BBQ options and some combo platters if you want to try more than one meat. All the food I've had here has been great including the appetizers. Definitely recommend brothers for some good food and service. read more

I hadn't had BBQ in a while, so when I saw this restaurant a the mall I knew I had to try it. We walked in and were seated quickly. Our server introduced himself and brought the menu. We ordered the brisket platter with baked beans and mac cheese. We also ordered a jr ribs meal and were given the complimentary corn bread. What we liked is the below. We loved the corn bread. It was warm on arrival sweet and salty just delicious. The brisket was moist and flavorful. The baked beans had little pieces of ham and had great taste. The ribs were okay a little dry for me. The mac and cheese was basic. The fries tasted like the grease they were fried in which is one of my pet peeves. The BBQ sauce was sweeter than I expected. We were told this is North Carolina style bbq. We enjoyed our visit and checking them out. The restaurant was family friendly. They also had a full bar and some interesting drinks ( we didn't try any). We'd visit again just for the corn bread. It was that good. read more

I was disappointed. good thing I just ordered appetizer and did not bother to order an entree. which was my main reason to come to this place. I could not get past the appetizer. Brothers was a great experience we went early in the day before the mall Crowd piled through. The staff there were very friendly and very welcoming. One thing I always want to know is what the staff enjoys eating. The staff member who attended us immediately. Let us know that one of the owners was in and brought a special along with him one that the staff member had already put in an order for her to take home. If a barbecue place has a solid beef rib I'm all in. I ordered the special beef rib, which was the size of my head with a great bark and smoke ring on it. It was fall off the bone tender. With my colossal beef rib I had mac & cheese, which, in a lot of of these barbecue places mac & cheese can tend to be very heavy and overly creamy this mac & cheese was perfect and you can tell was made with love my second side I needed something a little lighter than my first two options I opted for the coleslaw, which I always enjoy a nice coleslaw. We also had the pulled pork sandwich which again was a very hefty portion with the house cut Fries you can't go wrong with a nice house cut pillowy crisp Fry. To start it all off, though they give you some of their house cornbread, which is warm soft and just delicious. Their wings were a real draw. We had the garlic thyme wings which were a very subtle flavor, but the smoked wing and then fried was all the flavor you needed. The wings were crisp yet still juicy and had that perfect amount of smoke flavor. Even their drinks were smoky I had a smoked old-fashioned, which came with a nice thick strip cut of bacon. Last night Joe surprised me with a date night. I had no clue where we were going and we ended up at the Palisades Mall. Since our date night was impromptu, we didn't have a reso anywhere which made me nervous for a Friday night but lo and behold, Brothers Smokehouse had no wait and we were seated immediately. Our server John, who was also the bartender, was very attentive and gave great recommendations. For starters we ordered the boneless wings with the Asian bbq and the nachos with the "meat of the day" (ayoo ), which happened to be beef brisket. The brisket MELTED in my mouth; it was incredible. The boneless wings were meaty and juicy, not dry and overcooked. DELICIOUS! No complaints! For our entrees Joe ordered the two meat combo (two meats of your choice) with coleslaw and French fries. The fries were made fresh, in house, and boy could you tell. I'm not even a fry girl and I definitely stole a few off of his plate! For his meat choice he got the pork ribs and chicken. I can't even tell you how tender those ribs were, and the chicken fell right off the bone! For my entree I ordered the grilled chicken with a side of Mac n cheese and greens. Guys, I literally have no complaints. It was superb. On the way out we noticed there was even a walk up takeout window, in case you have no time to sit. Brothers smokehouse was delicious. The serving sizes were huge, the service was great and the ambiance was very family friendly. My favorite part by far was the cornbread. Get the St. Louis style ribs..... they were really good. Beautiful bbq bark on the outside incredibly seasoned (pastrami like taste). They did not need sauce. Wings were really good. Brisket was OK. I'll be back to try the pulled pork and sausage as finding even decent bbq is tough in this area. I did not like the collard greens at all which is unfortunate because it's one of the only vegetable options. Tasted like just funky steamed collard greens no good Smokey or bacon-ey taste. Only other thing I was disappointed in was the lack of sauces. This is bbq.......there should be at least 3 sauces of various flavors. Top 3 worst cheeseburger of my life. Took 30 minutes and there were only 4 other tables in the restaurant. Made sense why it took so long because the meat was burnt The server was very kind though and service was fine. Ambiance to be expected for a mall restaurant. This is going to be a personal preference but I like their BBQ sauce a lot. So much that I bought a bottle. They also have Crystal on the table. My kind of place! Their brisket is ok. Wow. We sat at the bar and Juan R. (John) took such great care of us. We actually asked him to order apps for us and his choices were so good. Only apps ordered. Smoked WINGS were the best we've had. We had the smoked sausages wrapped in bacon, uncle Bo's shrimp, and Sticky ribs. Wow. Ordered extras of most plates and don't skip the corn bread with fresh made honey butter. And the drinks were also so good. Juan R went and got fresh watermelon from the kitchen and whipped up the most amazing watermelon martini. (Not on the menu) Highly recommend it. We walked pass this establishment at the mall and the employees were friendly and engaging. They were eager to have our business and it made us want to dine there for dinner. We had a large group (5 adults and 5 kids) and they were very easily able to accommodate us. We're course a family style option (Eat Like the Brothers I think it was called) and that was plenty large to feed our group! We ordered 2 more large sides because they were food and were left STUFFED. Our waiter was awesome and so helpful and accommodating without being overbearing. We were at the mall to try out a new VR place and decided we wanted to try this restaurant. Was pleasantly surprise that when we got there, the restaurant was not very full and I was able to get a seat for us immediately. Why was waiting for my guys? I took the server a good 10 minutes just to get over to us afterwards we placed our orders starting with the fried pickles and cheese fries, which were absolutely delicious. I had the brisket. My husband had a chicken sandwich and my son had macaroni and cheese. I have to say the brisket was not very pleasant to eat. It was hard around the sides and mushy in the middle. I'm a huge barbecue girl and I know good brisket when I eat it. This is something that can truly be improved upon. I've been to their Ramsey location before but I came here over the weekend with friends and really enjoyed it. I love that they have this restaurant at Palisades it was exactly what was needed. They usually bring out cornbread/butter as you are waiting for your food, no cornbread.. they were making it so it wasn't ready, so instead the waiter brought us some French fries to substitute the cornbread until it was ready. Waiter apologized again. My shrimps were kind of chewy, the kiddie menu (hot dog/ff) hot dog was kind of burnt and the bread was not fresh! Stale. Besides that, I've loved every meal I've ordered: the brisket (tender); the ribs (juicy and tender); the mac and cheese (creamy and cheesy); the collard greens (savory); the fried chicken (crispy and well-seasoned); and the chopped BBQ (melt-in-your-mouth). We were hungry at the mall and smelled the food so we had to stop. The head waiter was knowledgeable about the whole menu and recommended some things to us. We tried the wings and they were okay. The fried pickles tasted real good like ones from down south. The brisket we tried was delicious. The ribs fell off the bone. The sausage was juicy and tasty. The reason for the three stars were the sides: the string beans were meh and the Cole slaw was cold - I needed to add the barbecue sauce to be able to eat it. The girls tried the Mac and cheese and it was pretty good but not wow. We shared a banana pudding which was awesome, saving the meal. I've been to Brothers BBQ in New Windsor many times and always loved the food. Visiting the palisades location was very disappointing. I'm not sure who they have in the back at tht specific location but the Mac and cheese was definitely not southern style. It tasted like it came out of a box. The brisket was dry. And the "banana pudding" didn't have any bananas in it. It barely tasted like it had even vanilla extract in it. There was only cookies on the top of the pudding. And the custard was gritty. I would give this location 1 star but I kno this location just opened pretty recently and these issues might just b glitches. I do enjoy their food and I hope they fix these problems for the future. Like eating cardboard. Order sweet tea. No sweet tea. What bbq place has no sweet tea? Ordered tea and added sugar myself. Burnt ends which was always great where horrible. Should have been called burnt fat. All fat, little pork. Order 2 meat platter for $32. 3 pieces of blah brisket and 4 completely burnt dry overseasoned ribs. Also included blah bland coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. Mac and cheese was the only edible thing. Slaw, brisket and ribs were a disaster. Didn't eat them. Took them home to feed to my stray feral cats. Felt completely ripped off. Not sure if it was an off day or if this is the direction this place is heading. Shame because it was good. The service was way beyond expectations for a BBQ place. My wife and I always go to The Yard House when at PC. We smelled the smoker and had to try. The food was excellent. Me and my husband were just wandering around the mall looking for a place to eat. The gentleman at the front door was so fun and inviting. He took the time out to talk up the menu to us and share the best things on the menu. We weren't super hungry but once he was done explaining everything we had to try it. I had the autumn sangria which tasted like Apple cinnamon goodness. Now for the food! The cornbread was moist and light. Not too dense or buttery. The honey butter was ok. First time at the Palisade Center location on a Sunday (7/21). I had a big boy sandwich and my wife had the smoked roaster sandwich. Both of which were on the dry side. My wife said you needed to put a lot of bbq sauce on the sandwich. Prices were a bit heavy. Interesting the prices on the menu were not what the bill showed. So perhaps there is a lunch menu and a diner menu with different prices and they may not have two menus or we were given the wrong menus. Interestingly, there were no prices on the drink menu. I ask the server about that and he said he told management about that to no avail. In short, an "ok" experience and not in any hurry to rush back. Server was great, all else, meh. read more

I warn them not to go to the palisades mall location because I keep hearing horror stories especially since they are getting such a large other (Eat Like a King). They ordered and paid online. They get there and they say they ran out of ribs they'll give them chicken instead and it'll be the same price. I said no, chicken doesn't cost the same. They tell them no refunds.
