Y'all even trying? More like a Blizzard. Should have handed to me upside down or it's free
    Troy B.

I'll preface by saying the only reason I'd give a restaurant one star is if I had to walk out before I ever ordered. I gave this one two stars because I won't be walking back In. That said: Hostess was apathetic and tired to see our presence at her table. A smile? A hello? A warm welcome to Cheddars? Crickets. Fake it to make it if you have to. Seated us in the bar area with my 18 year old daughter in the very back when there was other seating available more conducive. Should have said something but trying to be nice. Maybe you're just having a bad day. Bartender was our server, so he spent most of his time cleaning behind the bar and taking care of the customers at the bar...not very personable. May I suggest a Hello! welcome! I'll be right with you! Waited an inordinate time to even know you would be our server. Ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer. When plate finally arrived there was no queso but salsa. Can we get some queso? The result is what you see in the photo. Eventually a manager arrived...Oh thank goodness. "We're out of the mashed potatoes you ordered and are currently making more. Can I get you a different side?" No. I want the mashed potatoes as soon as they're ready. I'm sure it'll be the warmest food on my plate. I was right. My blackened salmon came out perfect and the vegetable was cooked perfectly. My daughter's fries were cold and her determination to not step foot in here again was steadfast. One piece of advice...at the end of the meal when you hand the customer the check don't blame the kitchen for overall terrible service. You picked up the plate from the kitchen to bring it to me.

The food and service were excellent. I cannot say enough good things about the Buffalo chicken wrap! I will come back every time I am in Paducah for that. We were able to have an amazing, filling dinner for two (with leftovers) for under $50 (not counting tip). The carrot cake is delicious also.

We stopped here on a pit stop down to Florida, the name caught our eye. There were right the chicken tenders were made from scratch, so fresh. Kids loved it. My son even snuck into my baked potato. He dug into his meal quickly didn't get a photo. I enjoyed my salad. They give you these warm croissants that melt in your mouth. Again kids gobbled them down before a photo. Desiree our server was very nice and attentive. Great food awesome service.

This is our second time at this cheddars, and have to say the food is always decent and great prices. It's never busy so it's always easy to get in and out of. The restaurant struggled at the beginning and they have really been working to turn things around. We had the Buffalo chicken wrap, side salad, chicken pot pie with green beans, and steak and grilled shrimp. Everything was great and even had left overs. They always bring out the croissants first with honey butter. They never seem to be warm (that would be my only complaint). But they are still delicious! Typically not a fan of chain restaurants, but cheddars and Olive Garden seem to be the exception.

We both are fans of "Top Chef" and since her restaurant is within reasonable distance of home, we planned a trip around it. In fact, we made reservations for two nights in a row, to take in as much of the menu as possible! Between the two different days, we tried a number of appetizers, entrees and desserts. If I were to do this again the same way, I would do one day of apps and dessert and one day of entrees, just to spread things out a bit. What we ate: - Fall pickles: I enjoyed this, with the bit of chili heat, especially the cauliflower - Stuffed Mushrooms: I love mushrooms, and these blended creamy, sweet and hot with a filling of cream cheese, berry BBQ sauce and smoked jalapeno - Pistachio and herb chevre cheeseball: a fresh cheese enhanced by nutty and Herby notes - Smoked bologna: my husband's choice; very meaty and there was a lot of it - Spicy beer cheese spread: a very Midwestern feeling appetizer with tasty veggies and crackers Entrees: -Shrimp and grits: my choice: comforting southern food with lots of flavor - Duck fried rice: his choice: rich rice offset by more delicate vegetables - Sticky ribs: my choice: the pumpkin spice and coffee liqueur glaze worked well for a cozy, wintry meal - Braised pork shoulder: his choice; served with beans and cornbread, this was another hearty, comforting meal with a Southern twist. Desserts: - Winter creme brulee: this was my favorite, flavored with mulling spices, orange and pomegranate We also enjoyed a seasonal sorbet and the fall spice cake. We had the same server both nights, Elizabeth, who was good at making recommendations, and also staggering the small plates on our small table so we wouldn't be overloaded. Chef Sara was in house the second night, bringing dishes to tables. The setting is relaxed, not overly loud, with moody lighting. Overall, we would certainly return to Freight House!

The locals greeted me like I'd just come back from a long trip instead of walking in for the first time. Either they're incredibly friendly or they thought I needed supervision. Either way, solid welcome. Service was minimal in the best possible way. No hovering, life story, or unnecessary check-ins. Just quick, friendly, and efficient, like they understood I came to eat, not start a long term relationship. Now here's where things take a turn: the food has no business being this good. I ordered the Southside Supreme Pizza, and I'm still trying to figure out how a place that looks like it could host a darts league championship is casually putting out world class pizza. I've had pizza from all over the world and this place can hold its own. Thin, perfectly crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and enough cheese to make you question your priorities but not your choices. It's like the pizza didn't get the memo about where it was being served. So yeah, I give it 5 stars. Come for the dive bar charm, stay because the food quietly outperforms half of the "fancy" places that make you wait 45 minutes for a table and then serve you a disappointment on a wooden board. I'll definitely be back. Next time I might even try to look like I belong.

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich with fries same hubby ordered fish and chips. The waitress brought out a basket of rolls with whipped butter. Those were excellent rolls. Yeasty and soft. Hubby said it very good, great breading, nice and crispy. Great tartar sauce too. I wish I had tried it. My fries were not crispy (no double fry) not crispy at all. They were hot and cooked though. To be fair, the servers were very kind and doing their absolute best, but the restaurant was clearly understaffed. Everyone looked frantic, which set the tone right away. The dining room was also freezing, with cold air constantly sweeping in from outside -- not exactly the cozy lunch my mom and I were hoping for. My mom ordered her favorite, the shrimp and grits, and she loved it. Clean plate, no complaints from her. I wish I could say the same for my meal. I ordered the prime rib after asking the server about it. She assured me it was juicy and looked great today. I asked for medium rare. What arrived was a dry, gray slab of meat that was nowhere near medium rare. I cut into it to show her how overdone and dry it was, and she took it back. Eight minutes later, a second prime rib arrived. This one had a tiny bit of pink, but still mostly gray, still dry, and still absolutely not fresh. It tasted like leftover prime rib from the day before that had been microwaved -- that unmistakable reheated texture and flavor. It was honestly disgusting. I choked down less than half before giving up. The baked potato was the only thing I could actually enjoy. The broccoli had a strange, unpleasant taste and went untouched. My mom would genuinely recommend O'Charley's for the shrimp and grits. But for anything else -- especially the prime rib -- I'd suggest steering clear. Or if you do go, just play it safe and get a baked potato. Very disappointing experience, especially for a $32 prime rib in a small Kentucky town.
