I just moved here and needed a new wax location. It was between this place an European wax. Ive done European wax before and they rush you in and out as fast as possible so I decided to give this place a shot! I was so impressed from the moment I walked in! I was immediately greeted and offered water while I waited. It was beyond cozy in there. I did a studio brow shape and wax with Janey. She walked me through what she was going to do before she started. She took her time and did an amazing job! Usually my eyes get super watery throughout a wax and this did not happen at all! I have beyond-serious trust issues when it comes to letting people do my eyebrows. But Rene's so comforting and such a genius that I forgot I was even getting my eyebrows done by someone totally new. My brows have never looked better! I've had tadpole brows since high school but this year -for me- is finally the year of the brows, thanks to Rene. He's someone I have known since living in LA prior from bring in the beauty industry so when I moved back to the city a couple months ago I was so happy that he's just a block away making him my go-to for the best brows in LA. He caters each facial to your skin's current needs & can recommend products/changes to your routine to help get you your best skin (but is never pushy). Rene creates natural full shaped brows that will make even your momma jealous! Rene gives you a free tutorial on how to fill in your brows like a pro (& will repeat the tutorial whenever you need a refresher/or if you're a slow learner like me)...filling in brows is not as straight forward as you think and you are most likely doing it wrong. I had my first ever facial! I was referred to come to René by a co-worker who was totally in love and now I understand why!! The studio is in a cute little building in down town right by my apartment which is an extra plus for convenience. I don't know much about skincare besides that I'm super sensitive and I really appreciated that he took the time to talk to me about what I'm using and what he thought was going to be best for my skin. He did some extractions for all my clogged pores, some really nice feeling masks, and the uv light treatment. The products that we're used felt super nice and smelled amazing! I recently saw Jessica for a full set of lashes. I am an ex-lash junkie- I got my lashes done religiously for 2 years, every two weeks. I took them off about a year ago because my lash studio closed and I got lazy. I went to see Jessica at Brow Down because I see Ashley for facials and decided to try again with lashes. She is incredible! I asked for more natural lashes (I live in SF okayyyyy!) and she nailed it. The first full set took about 2 hours and I was going to put my headphones in and hopefully nap but I didn't have to put my headphones in, the studio is so relaxing and the entire team makes you feel so at home and the music is incredible. I am so glad I decided to see Jessica and when I'm in town every few weeks, I'll be seeing her for fills. Doing my brows had become stress-inducing. I couldn't get them even, filled in too much or not enough, etc... something had to be done. After seeing Rene's work on IG, I knew it was necessary to make an appointment. I decided to treat myself and get a facial as well in which, after examining my skin, Rene also suggested LED and UV therapy. My skin feels so polished, smooth and clear. My brows are perfect and now I know what I need to fill them in properly. I LOVE Rene. I've gone with him 4 times now for a facial and every time my skin gets better. IF I had to complain about anything it would be about parking, it's so difficult finding parking and nearby parking is no less than $10. BUT paying and finding parking is TOTALLY worth it.
