Shoutout to Victoria!! She literally saves my brows every time!! She does lamination and tint on me and it turns out amazing! 10/10 definitely book with her. I've had my brows done multiple times and will always come back now that I found this gem!

Brow wax and lash lift. FYI brow shaping is done by free hand.

I was really looking forward to making this place my new brow salon but unfortunately I did not have the experience I was hoping for. I chose this place for the brow mapping service that promises to "help define the best brow shape for your face" and also for the symmetry achieved by brow mapping technique. But I found non of that here. I also came here for a lash lift which actually did come out nice. My technician began "mapping my brows" by free handing an outline of my brows which looked nothing at all like the shape I had asked for. At no point in the process was the conversation about finding the best brow shape for me--There were no measurements. If I had known that this was going to be the process I would not have booked the service. The lash lift looks nice but I was expecting the technician to ask me more questions about what I wanted the final look to be like, and that process to be more consultative in the beginning. I feel like my lashes are too curly because they curl into my eyelids (I have long lashes). Also, I had asked for the keratin lash lift. I'm not sure what the technician actually did because when I asked about the products they use and asked if it was the keratin lash lift her response was "kind off"(???). The customer service was not bad but it was also not very welcoming. My technician was not very helpful and that is something I was hoping for, especially because it was my first time coming here. Also, they were doing some kind of shelf installation and it was very loud. I will not be returning here. But I hope this review help the business improve and grow, and whoever is considering coming here to make an informed decision. Price- $210 for brow wax and lash lift

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

I don't think anything can ever beat the old Arcadia location when I got super cheap and nice cosmetics for around $1 (think Missha and Majolica Marjorca, but this only happened when things reopened after the lock down), but you can still find some good deals here. Similar to the Arcadia location, there's a mix of legitimate items here and a couple questionable, potentially bootleg items, so make sure you check and read the labels and compare prices online and the such. I like how this location plays into the culture and touristy-ness of the Little Tokyo with the daruma statue photo op in front and the pressed penny machine. I'm a sucker for pressed pennies, so this was nice. I've gotten super cheap sword props for cosplay, cute super cheap random character plushies and merchandise (think generic cats), and in an ocean of blind box slop shops in LT, I prefer Maneki Neko in comparison.

Yes, part of it is because it's smack dab in the center, but the main part of it is because a lot of the businesses I like to shop at and peruse are located here, as well as lots of the places I like to get food and snacks from. I like visiting what I deem the "Anime Jungle pit" since eventually the entire underground section was taken over by businesses related to or owned by Anime Jungle, but in that pit, when there's no crazy lines, I like to visit Anime Jungle, Q Pop Shop, Little Akihabara LA (depending on the collab pop up), Kiddleton Kiosk, and maybe I got into the model kit or the TCG/vidya game shop, but not as often. Outside of the pit in the plaza area, sometimes I like to go to Monkey Pants, but it is a small shop, but they have cute trinkets and sometimes character mascots have meet and greet events, Catch on the 3rd floor, Neko Stop, Maneki Neko, Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, the Sanrio store, Nijiya for quick drinks or snacks, Yamazaki bakery for the meat buns, Mitsuru Cafe for super cheap dango and takoyaki, and sometimes they have cool collab decoration and events throughout this location. It definitely gets crowded and busy here, the parking garage can get quite fisted, so it's not somewhere I park normally, but I will definitely visit.

Every time I come here I always end up spending a couple hundred for big hauls because I want everything haha, but prices aren't bad at all. This last time I got a free diffuser as a gift with purchase! They also suggested buying these Japanese cough drops since I was headed to a concert (which - good looking out! was absolutely needed and helpful). They even checked the ingredients in Japanese to make sure that I wouldn't have any allergic reactions which was so sweet! Service has been consistently great every time that I've visited here. This last time I went was super early on a weekday though, so wasn't busy at all. It was shortly after they opened because I happened to have an appointment in the area and needed some beauty products for a trip. They were great with answering all of my beauty questions! The only con may be parking when it's busy or later in the day. I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. So definitely try to plan to come earlier in the day/when it's less busy.

However, I believe there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service. On multiple visits, I've noticed that one employee, who regularly wears a face mask, appears to follow me throughout the store while checking what is in my shopping basket. At first, I assumed it was a coincidence, but during my most recent visit, my friend noticed the same behavior. Being closely watched while shopping creates an uncomfortable experience and makes it difficult to browse at ease. As a person of color, this interaction was particularly unsettling. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration so all customers can feel welcomed and comfortable while shopping.

There's a lot of plushies here including those soft mochi mochi sitting animal plushies and anime goods too, including some $5 affordable unique, official Poke'mon magnets.
