Their motto "Food with a purpose" is fulfilled in every aspect of the restaurant from cooking, to serving and even through their catering services. The restaurant is very clean and doesn't have overwhelming decor, which can ruin an experience. The food is top notch, you'll love a different aspect of everything you try on the menu and it is HEALTHY FOOD. With the name of this restaurant, you'd think it would be just a catering business. You would probably not think of it as a place to go to sit and have a meal, but it's a perfect place for this. The seating space is very abundant and it seems so open and so clean. It is located across from Stonecrest, next to Uwharrie Bank. Apparently their claim to fame is the grilled chicken, so Amy and I both had it. We ordered two sides to go with the chicken. I had the watermelon salad and the jalapeño corn pudding. Before I could get my iced tea from the drink counter, our food was on the table. FAST! Everything was so tasty and it sure didn't seem like fast food. Prices are very reasonable, I am sure partly because this is another order at the counter place and they serve their food on paper plates. The entire meal was around $10 and there was no tip needed. The desserts looked wonderful. There were large brownies and banana pudding offered. I may have to return for the banana pudding! They just opened a few days ago, so they haven't been discovered yet. My guess is that they will do well based on the quality of their food and their pricing. If I were still in the pharmaceutical business, I would use Brown Bag for catering lunches. It's a really nice addition to the restaurant scene in Charlotte, if you want good food, fast service, and great prices. Two thumbs up for Brown bag. read more

Brownbag is a hidden gem in Charlotte. You walk in and it feels like home. The atmosphere is bright and airy, the food is better than anything your grandma could make, and the staff is like family. I love the chicken sandwich with ANY salad and the sautéed veggies. But believe me when I say you can't go wrong with anything. The only wrong thing is not getting a house-made banana pudding for dessert. The food is incredible, but the experience as a whole will make you come back again and again. We had a tasting before and we're impressed with everything so much that we opted to add extra meats and sides!They provided non-alcoholic drinks as well and their lemonade is a can't miss! This place is great. They've catered a couple of lunches at work and I decided to check them out directly. Staff is friendly, everything is clean and the food is delicious! I'm slightly embarrassed at how fast I ate everything . I had the grilled chicken which was moist and delicious. The spinach salad was fresh and the dressing is good too. I also had the grilled vegetables and I'll probably get them every time I'm here now. Others faved about the banana pudding but I'm saving that for later! Phenomenal! I had the salmon burger with asparagus and jalepeno corn casserole. The salmon was very flavorful and the bun was so fresh. The corn casserole kicks in after, I love spicy so it wasn't too hot but it would be considered spicy. The asparagus was char grilled and also had wonderful flavor. It's nice to see healthy food at very reasonable prices. I would love to see fresh fruit added as a side. My only disappointment was the basic grocery store hamburger bun. I ordered a catered lunch for 55 people for an all day meeting. They all ranted and raved about the delicious meal. Trying to accommodate all diet types, eating healthy and getting it right can be quite a challenge. We had grilled chicken, steak, grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, brownies and 2 kinds of salads. The poppyseed dressing was THE BOMB! We had several vegetarians and we added a few grilled mushrooms and everyone had plenty of good food to eat. The portions were large and we still had leftovers. Everything was superb! The set up was on time, easy and quiet (since the meeting was still going on). Everyone I talked to and encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and dependable. This place is AMAZING!!!! I gave The Brown Bag food truck a try one Monday for lunch and ordered a Salmon burger with a side of grilled veggies. Let's just say that was the BEST decision I've made for lunch! I couldn't wait until the next Monday when the food truck returned just to order another one. However the next Monday came and there was no food truck. Another Monday came and went and still no food truck. At this point I was confused and also hurt because I was really craving that salmon burger. So I looked online and found out they were opening a location right by my office. And not only was the food absolutely AMAZING the staff was even more awesome. The two young ladies that were up front had excellent customer service and made me feel welcomed.
