We enjoyed the Paso Robles location so when we were in Cayucos we checked this place out as well. The staff were helpful and allowed us some samples. They make great gifts and are quite decadent!

They got me with the sign on the highway driving thru on my way to San Luis Obispo from Cambria. They give out free samples of almost each kind of cookie which makes you just end up buying more. Cookies are delicious and so many different kinds to choose from.

Nice little cookie shop in Cayucos we stopped at. They offer samples to help you make your decision although they all taste good. The staff were all nice and helpful and the staff package them very nicely.

Brown Butter is a niche bakery whose highlight is the shortbread cookies. They do offer other cooked in packs of six that you can arrange by flavor, to your liking. There are generous samples of their baked goods. Admittedly, my husband noshed on the samples and was too full for an individual desert of which I partook. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bakery is cute and well arranged.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Product is packed in their signature labels and packaging made it so tempting to want to buy all the things. Most of us opted for the custard ice cream (so rich and tasty) adorned with a shortbread cookies of the day: chocolate chip. Goodness in every bite!! Next time I'm getting the cookie 6 pack - I still haven't stopped thinking about those guys!

A YouTube SENSATION! My Mom and I got the tip to visit Brown Butter Cookie from a YouTuber and we were so glad we bookmarked this local business! Brown Butter Cookie is growing with more stores and treats. You MUST visit this cookie shop because the sea salt treats are delicious. The titular Brown Butter Cookie is obviously fantastic, but the sea salt chocolate (made with Ghirardelli Chocolate) treats are just as amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop was spacious, clean and easy to navigate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Prices are a little high, but so is the quality. I liked the staff, they offered samples and were easy going. Brown Butter Cookie is a Cayucos favorite as I saw many locals entering the store!

Melt in your mouth cookies! I've never had a cookie like this. They also offer samples inside so you can try before you select your flavor. They had samples of the original brown butter cookie, chocolate chip, and a chocolate cookie. I'm sure there are others but those were the samples they had out the day I went. The staff was friendly with answering questions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is on the main waterfront street in Cayucas which is one block from the beach and near the pier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's the perfect place to stop before you enjoy a walk on the pier. A cookie while you walk on the pier - is there anything better?

No trip to the central coast is complete without a trip to BBC. In fact we stopped in 3 days in a row this trip. We haven't been here in over a year/ so our cravings were high. Omg- the honey cookies are so delicious I can't stop eating them. We picked up a few packages yesterday to give to friends, but then I got a sweet tooth last night and broke into the bag... so yummy I couldn't stop. We also picked up a few of the variety packages. If you get there early they may have some that are 50% off- but these go fast. Today I got the lemon ones- again, these are amazing We have always been greeted as soon as we enter with a sample of the original flavor, and they have 3 other ones with samples set up for the taking. Can't wait to go back again tomorrow and grab some more cookies... one can never have enough [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such an adorable shop, both inside and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly staff to help with suggestions for friends and family. It's the off season right now- so we have lucked out with parking right in front the last few visits. Sometimes you made need to walk a bit- but so worth it

Did somebody say cookie?? -(in my Cookie Monster voice)
    Lance L.

"Did somebody say cookies?" "Me. Want. Cookie!" "C" is for cookie, that's good enough for me. "Sometimes me think, what is a friend? And then me say: a friend is someone to share last cookie with" (and NO!!! This is not Kevin from the Office) But it is someone you might recognize from your childhood.... Any guesses on who quoted these famous words of wisdom about one of Americas favorite snacks/treats? Well, if you watched Sesame Street as a kid... You know exactly who I am referring to. And If not... Did you even have a good childhood?? I'm talkin' bout Sesame Streets Cookie Monster! And let me tell ya.... The Cookie Monster would most definitely give two thumbs up if he ever visited the Brown Butter Cookie Co. in Cayucos, California. I mean... They've got Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, Lemon Sugar, Oatmeal Raisin, Ginger Molasses, Peanut Butter... I mean, Do I really need to give the Cookie Monster or you over there, yeah YOU... reading this right now with that sweet tooth of yours... Anymore reasons to convince you to visit Brown Butter Cookie Co. while visiting the Central Coast? Well, Did I mention they give free samples!!!!! Yeah, I know! That's how they got me too! So whether you want a single cookie for $4 or half a dozen for $24 (what!! No discount for buying in bulk??)... Well unless you buy the Tower Special for $22 (which comes with an assortment of their classics)... This is your must-stop cookie destination while you're in the town of Cayucos. So.... Come get your Cookie On! And in the famous words from the man himself with a mouth full of cookies... "Om Nom Nom Nom"

    Stef M.

This store deserves 5 stars based on service and friendliness of the young beautiful people fronting the place. Plenty of generous samples inside to taste before deciding on which ones to bring home or for gifting. Packaging is neat and nice. I am especially loving the energy of the people working here, pls tip generously to your heart content.

Save your money. Def not worth the price of these cookies. 24$ for 6. Albertsons cookies are 10 times better imo.

As a baker of excellent cookies I was blown away! The texture and flavor of these cookies made me speechless. The original sea salt cookies is a must try. They offer samples so try them before you buy. $12 for 6 cookies. They are already in packages. There's parking in front. Lots of shops nearby and even a free local museum. Workers were warm and informative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can see them making the cookies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely come here again in a heart beat

Ask the Community - Brown Butter Cookie

Is anyone willing to grab some "chocolate chunk" and "peanut butter" cookies from the cayucos store and ship them to me in LA? They don't ship them. Can anyone help?!?!?

They only ship the brown butter cookies, not the big ones. It’s kind of a bummer because they are just as delicious.

This place sells out, and they were already out of a few pastries. I was told I ordered the last ham and cheese croissant at about 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday. We enjoyed the blueberry muffin while we waited. It was filled with huge blueberries and had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was not too heavy and instantly became a favorite. The Pain Bijou was delicious and reminded me of the flavors of a sausage biscuits and gravy breakfast. The ham and cheese croissant was really good, but for two people we probably could have just stuck with the Pain Bijou and the muffin. I look forward to coming back the next time we are in Cayucos.

The food was quickly served, and delectable -- I had a vegetable omelet, with a generous side of delicious potatoes, which were crisp on the edges and well-seasoned. The overall atmosphere and food were great. Our first visit was so enjoyable, in fact, that we went back a second time soon after, perhaps only a week's time... and were disappointed. We simply ordered the same as we previously had, so no menu changes for us, yet the experience was a change for the worse. Our food took a surprisingly long time to arrive (there was no one else in the dining room), subjecting us to music that was not classic jazz, but pop radio. When the food finally arrived the side of potatoes was limited and soft. The serving of avocado that topped my omelet was also noticeably reduced. The tomatoes had changed from fresh to sun-roasted, and the spinach was barely there. The previously generous serving of fries on the side of my husband and son's burgers was also reduced. The servers were all very nice both times, but when the food is inconsistent at a restaurant, that is unsettling because you can never go with any confidence that you'll get what you expect.

"You catch more bees with honey than vinegar" ------------------------------- On our recent stay in the tiny town of Cayucos, my wife needed a little boost of coffee to get her day started off right. She went on Yelp and decided that she wanted to try Honey Girl Cafe. Sounds sweet right? Well, the service we received from here... Left me a bit "salty". Not sure what it was... But the staff seemed very unhappy and acted as if we had just poked their "beehive". C'mon Honey Girl... It's coffee, it was 10am and if you step outside your shop, you can literally see ocean... Why you gotta act like you're the "bee's knees". As far as your Honey Lavender Latte, it was decent... But your service made me want to "make a beeline" to the exit as soon as our drink was ready. If it was up to me, I would have just left as quick as we had walked in... But my Queen Bee wife needed her honey and no crap service from any worker bee was going to change the Queen's mind. Before I wrote this review, I was truly hesitant about even wasting my energy on this place so I decided to do a little further research into the honeycomb. Apparently, according to another Yelp reviewers, The Honey Girl has been naughty in the past and it seems that customer service just isn't their strong suit. Multiple reviews talk about the rude staff and issues arising from behind the counter... So I decided to add a little vinegar (my experience) to the honey pot. All in all, I wasn't impressed with this place and for me to go out of my way to leave a "bad" review means you really left a bad taste in my mouth. How does "Vinegar Girl Cafe" sound? Nah, not as catchy. As for how others customers, locals and tourists alike feel about this place... That's none of my Beeswax!! I Truly hope you have a better experience than mine.
