We ordered strawberry soda and lemon soda , and for food we ordered thai crepe, tuna crepe and creme brûlée crepe. We are surprised by the drink since we are not really soda person. It tastes like real strawberry and lemon and is very refreshing. For the food, the flavor is good and unique. The tuna crepe has rich taste of the cheese that goes well with the tuna inside. The Thai crepe is very sweet (I have sweet tooth for food) and goes nicely with the shredded port inside but I can only eat half of it since it's very filling and rich. Came on a friday during lunch, we were seated very quickly and the interior was absolutely gorgeous!!!! So so so cute and homey, with equally aesthetically pleasing menu items. Wait staff were very kind and welcoming. We ordered the albacore tuna crepe and chicken pesto crepe, and for dessert the mango mania and creme brulee. The tuna was delicious and perfectly light cheesy which paired wonderfully with the sweet corn inside. It was a nice and creamy, with a tastefully dressed small side salad to pair. The crepe itself was spectacular, with a balance of nice and on the crispier side on the edges with the perfect thickness and a chewy bite. I've been to a lot of crepe places but hands down the crepe texture here is my new favorite!! The mango mania was also sooo delicious the mango sorbet on the side was absolutely killer and it paired so well with the mangoes and cream. The fruit itself was amazing! The creme brulee crepe was so fun to eat, they serve it in a little stand so you can eat the top with a spoon before you pick it up and eat while peeling back the paper. The custard was just right, not too sweet, and the bites of fruit inside give it some nice texture as you eat your way down. One thing I noticed is that the wait staff will clear your plates and give you a new set of utensils before they serve dessert, it was a small detail but I thought that was a very nice touch. Delicious food, comfy and cute ambiance, and warm and friendly service made my first time eating at Brown Butter leave such an impact that I'm sitting here writing a review (I don't normally feel compelled to do so). The place was surprisingly packed on a Wednesday afternoon, but we were somehow seated right away. The server was this super nice girl and took our order and served us with a smile. I saw a different server go out of his way to open the door for a family on their way out. I got the ham and cheese crepe, which had thick ham, nice cheese pull, crispy crepe, and this tasty house sauce. Also came with a salad. It was SUPER yummy. I came here for the honey toast though, and also got that. I love honey brick toast but every place with the exception of my favorite spot back at home (Up2You in San Diego, if you're curious) had failed me up until this point. The honey toast here was delicious though!!! Not as much honey as I normally like, but the toast was crispy and fluffy to perfection with a nice variety of fruits (all satisfyingly peeled and cut into cute shapes), ice cream, and custard and nuts without being too much or too heavy. BB is super cute and if you love savory or sweet crepes this is the spot. I ordered the chicken pesto and omg it was so good. Decent price and portion was good. Our second trip to Brown Butter was wonderful, atmosphere still inviting, open and airy. The space is small, but vibe is relaxed and the staff are super caring. We came with a party of 6 and they were able to accommodate us in a reasonable amount of time, larger parties would be a challenge. This time around my wife tried a spicy tofu crepe (which seems to be new?) -- it was delicious if a bit spicy (may want to ask them to go easy on the jalapeño if you're sensitive). I generally do not give lower than 2 stars but wow, this warranted it. The weird thing is I had such high expectations of this place. Came here around 1:30, got seated shortly after being warned that they were running out of several things on their menu. No worries, I intended to order the albacore tuna crepe and a Creme brulee crepe. My boyfriend ordered the Thai crepe. And that's where it ended. We waited probably for a good 10 min before we even had water served. Mind you, this cafe isn't big. So it shouldn't take this long. After giving our order, we waited another 40 min. Food never came out. Basically we waited 50 min and didn't even get our food. There was a table of 4 behind us who was there before we entered and while they had their drinks, it seems they had also waited 40 min for their food. In Japantown SF, you can get a crepe in 10 min. The ingredients shouldn't be that hard to obtain. The hours said the place closes at 5 PM. But if you're out of ingredients by 1 PM, good luck serving the remaining hours. They said they were going to close early due to lack of ingredients too but if we were ordering something available, we could have a seat. Again, if you're out of ingredients for other things, then food should be much quicker coming out for the remaining available food. Very, very disappointed. The waitress apologized profusely and asked to come back again. Unless I get some guarantee this won't happen again or some sort of reassurance I won't have my time wasted, not likely. :( read more

Everyone is very kind, the food was good,the place is super cute and the menu is varied enough to have something for everyone (which was a little bit of a pleasant surprise at a crepe place). I had never heard about this place until recently from my friends who had been going for a year. Super cute set up at the corner in Blackhawk Plaza. I got the lychee tea which was pretty good and refreshing. My friends really enjoyed their drinks and were raving about it. The service is nice it was super busy and the tables were all filled up. The only thing that I'm giving a four star instead of five star for is because I can't have dairy and the two drinks I wanted (matcha and thai) didn't have a nondairy option because I don't drink coffee. Per the hostess recommendation, I got the Thai style crepe. It was deliciously savory and flavorful. I actually came for the creme brulee crepe but ended up loving the Thai style crepe more! It's defenitely a different twist on crepes that I never had before. The creme brulee crepe is also really good. I was surprised to find bits of fruit inside and there's a chocolate drizzle on the bottom. The hostess was also very nice. She made sure that we were comfortable and put a fan near us even tho we declined to not inconvenience her (it was 100 degrees in Danville that day!) I wish they were just at a location with more foot traffic! Danville is quite a ways for us and there's nothing in the area to really visit. Super nice people and great good too! We came in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. I had the chicken pesto crepe and it was delicious. Their homemade pesto sauce is really good, the portion size Is healthy and the crepe cooked perfectly.
