Came here for Sunday dinner with no reservation. Restaurant is in the rose garden shopping plaza. Not a lot of big signs so we never really thought to come here. We were seated quickly outside. It was such a nice evening out and not cold. There were heat lamps too if needed. Our server was Toni. She was amazing and took care of us! She was super sweet and friendly! Excellent service. We ordered the streak frites, fish of the day which was a salmon and risotto, Paloma and lemon meringue. Steak frites was cooked perfectly! It was a hanger steak so it was soft and tender. Fries were crispy and it came with an arugula side salad. Dressing was lemony. Toni was so nice and even found us something similar to chimichurri sauce. The fish of the day was a salmon with risotto. It was cooked medium. Not over cooked and nice and flakey. Risotto was really good and lemony. The lemon meringue was probably one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. It came with a raspberry compote. The meringue was sooo soft and whipped and came with a delicious graham cracker crust. We even asked if they sold the pie as a whole but unfortunately they don't. Loved this spot! Will def be back. It looks like our new local dinner and dessert spot! read more

Ezekiel was inattentive and dismissive from the moment we sat down -- disengaged unless there was an upsell on the table. When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town. Amazing and solid American restaurant The ambiance is that of a nice steak house, design is subtle yet elegant. The service is on point, all of the staff is fully engaged, it feels like a 5-star hotel type of attentiveness. Manila clams - plenty of clams, the sauce is rich from the cuttings of porcherta , but it's well balanced and just delicious Halibut - the fish was cooked perfectly crispy, I would be happy getting any fish dish here. Sunday Prime Rib - also perfectly cooked, nice and juicy, the fixings were also just right. Chocolate Banana cream pie - not too sweet, really a pleasant dessert In my opinion, all of the food here is just solid and very good. I don't really have any complaints. Brought my family here for dinner last night and had a wonderful time. Esin is a great lunch or dinner spot that has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. They take reservations so be sure to take advantage of that when coming. The service across the board was great, the host who worked with me to make our reservation for a larger party was so nice and the staff the day of were incredible. The team worked quick to serve us and make sure we had a wonderful time. On the food front, everything was great. I got their grilled salmon special which I hope becomes a mainstay on their menu, as it was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh and packed with flavors. Their French onion soup was good, and so was their clams appetizer. I'd also recommend saving room for dessert, as all of their pastry items were very tasty too. I ordered the pot roast, and it was really good. It was raining outside, so it felt like the perfect comforting treat. I am still craving it and would honestly go back just for that dish. It cost $28.50 and came in a generous portion, which made it feel like a great value. The service was also very good. We arrived right when they opened for an early lunch, which made for a relaxed start to the meal. By the time we were leaving, the restaurant was already starting to fill up, which says a lot about its popularity. I was here today with a party of 10 celebrating a birthday. Everyone was pleased with their meals. The filet of sole special was outstanding from the friends who had it. The special salmon salad had peaches and blackberries and was also quite tasty. I had the shrimp Cobb salad which also was nice. A comment about the chicken salad was that they loved all the blue cheese on it. Service was slow and our server seldom checked on our table which was right in the center of everything. Wife liked her lunch but my chicken sandwich was just okay. The chicken was cooked nicely but the bun was too much dense bread . We took my in-laws here to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We made reservations and were seated pretty quickly. I ordered a mai tai. Wasn't expecting too much it was good but they skimped on the mint. Everything we ordered came quickly and was prepared to perfection. Exceptional lunch....the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. Luckily we made a reservation, it was packed for a monday at 1pm! Started with hummus, wish we ordered 2, it was excellent. Our table ordered the lamb burger, children's hamburger, and the steak sandwich. Each bite was better than last! We ended on a sweet note with baklava. It was warm. Flaky, and quite tasty. I've had better but id still rate it 8.5/10. The only part I was slightly disappointed was about the service. Our server was lovely and she clearly was trying her best, not sure if the planner/scheduler can try to have more staff present of busy days. This is what we order Salmon tartare- the tartare was good however the chips were quite mediocre Pot roast - it was good but didn't wow me. It came with veggies and mashed potatoes which were good too. Pork Chop- was very tender and juicy. Very impressive dish. highly recommended it! Very high quality delicious dining in a classy restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the King salmon. Expertly prepared! I was impressed that the wonderful server asked me how I wanted the salmon, as if it were a steak. My kind of place! Nothing is worse than overcooked King salmon OR a well done filet mignon! My wife and I stopped in for a spontaneous anniversary lunch and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm, inviting atmosphere and seated fairly quickly. There were plenty of tables available for a Sunday afternoon, which made everything feel relaxed. Our server brought menus and thoughtfully went over a few off-menu specials. While they sounded great, we decided to start with the burrata appetizer, followed by the steak sandwich and steak frites. The burrata was incredibly fresh and flavorful--a perfect way to begin the meal. The steak frites were excellent. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the fries were topped with garlic, essentially making them delicious garlic fries. While I would have preferred the fries a bit crispier, they paired very well with the steak and were still thoroughly enjoyable. My wife loved her steak sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by how light the bread was. It held up well without feeling heavy and soaked up the steak juices nicely, especially with the table mayo. This place is definitely on the pricier side, but we don't mind paying a bit more when the food and experience deliver--and they certainly did here. We would absolutely return. read more

I really love this restaurant. They do everything well. From the minute you enter the door, the customer service is excellent all around. I really enjoy taking my Grandma here as it's close by and the parking is convenient. The desserts are the stars of the show here. You cannot leave without ordering one or two! I ordered the vanilla gelato to share with my Grandma and they even split it into separate bowls for us. My parents shared the banana tart and I tried a little bit and it was good. Not too sweet. This is a nice place to sit out in the patio. Although they don't do reservations for it, they can put a note on the reservation that you would prefer the patio. If you come when they open at 11:30am, you won't have an issue. The manager is super nice and the staff are all very friendly. I appreciate small businesses like this as you can tell they put so much love into it. I would say this is a nice place to celebrate a birthday (which we've done for my Grandma) and other special occasions. You need to request the bread which is served 4 small slices at a time with butter. I had the fish over mashed potatoes with vegetables and my hubby had the pasta with seafood. Both were enjoyed. Came here for dinner with a friend of mine coming from out of town. The restaurant is tucked into a corner of a shopping plaza but the vibe felt upscale & intimate. Servers were professional and attentive. The menu was well thought out with many options you can mix & share with friends, and had an extensive spirits and wine section. I got the primer rib dinner since it was Sunday (and why the heck not!) I like my steaks medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and broccoli rab were excellent sides. With such excellent reviews and reputation, I was looking forward to the opportunity to try Esin for the first time. While the atmosphere was refined and the service excellent, the dishes themselves left something to be desired. We began the meal with the Mushroom Soup du jour, a decent but rather basic offering that lacked anything to set it apart. If I were to offer a recommendation, I think adding in a few whole or partial mushrooms after the base of the soup is fully blended would offer a nice textural and flavor contrast that would help bring the dish to the next level. As it stands, I found myself bored with the soup about halfway through the bowl. The Pan Fried Cod Sandwich was cooked to absolute perfection, with the light and crunchy breading complimenting the soft bread excellently. Unfortunately however, what it really lacked was any defining flavor. The smoked paprika remoulade which was supposed to provide most of the flavor was just too mild to carry the dish, leaving most bites tasting simply of bread. They serve the remoulade on the side and I found myself trying to scrape out every last bit of the sauce from the container just to get a little more flavor on my sandwich. With the excellent ingredient-quality and execution, this totally has the potential to be a five-star sandwich, it just needs a punchier sauce and honestly more of it. We ended the meal with dessert and if I may offer a word of advice, avoid the Ginger Bread Pudding at all costs. It was cold and spongy, and the candied ginger on top added little and felt out of place. They have an extensive dessert menu and I'm sure some of them are excellent, just not this one. I caught glimpses of why Esin is so popular, but overall my first experience left me with more critiques than compliments. read more

We had been to Revel and Social Bird for drinks, so I wanted to try out the Mediterranean vibe it's known for. Hostess was real friendly and sat is quickly. Matt our Server was quick to get our appetizers and drink order. We had a couple of wines and a Sazerac and some appetizers. Gnocchi and Flatbread were delicious and were perfectly portioned for 4 people. I had ordered the Pork Chop with pear and ginger chutney. I opted out of the Sweet potato cake and got Garlic mash potatoes. All of the other dishes looked great, Filo wrapped Mary's Chicken and Steak Frittes. The Pot Roast Americano also looked good. Wr did save room for dessert and wifey got a bday gelato scoop. We had ordered a Apple Crisp, a Baileys Cheesecake, and a Banana cream sort Dessert. They have a great outdoor patio for days when the weather cooperates. It's always a nice time when we come to Esin. Our server Matt was very attentive friendly and helpful. We ordered and our food came out quick, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the food because we were so hungry. We ordered Cesar salad, and 3 burgers. The salad was fresh, crispy and the chicken was really tasty. The burgers are bomb! They're huge and the meat is really juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries are really Good and their summer drinks are so refreshing. We also split a brownie for dessert and found out the owners wife makes all the desserts daily and he is the chef, how cool is that!! The inside of the restaurant is a little more dressy than the patio. It's casual out there so if you want more of an upscale experience, I recommend sitting inside. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. Sarah was our server, and she could not have been more attentive--gracious, well-timed, and perfectly paced the evening without ever feeling intrusive. That level of professionalism is rare and deeply appreciated. The food was outstanding. I ordered the steak & frites, which was cooked to absolute perfection--beautifully seasoned, tender, and exactly as requested. My wife had the prawn & scallops, and they were equally flawless: expertly prepared, balanced, and fresh. Every bite reflected care and consistency. The drinks were excellent as well--thoughtfully crafted and a perfect complement to the meal. What truly sets Cafe Esin apart is its longevity and unwavering quality. Over the roughly 18 years it has been operating in the Rose Garden, it has maintained a remarkably high standard across food, service, and overall experience. That kind of consistency is hard to achieve, and Esin delivers it every single time. Located in the Rose Garden Shopping complex off of Sycamore Valley East in Danville, it is still a convivial destination. Regulars are greeted warmly by the staff at check-in. Newer diners are just-as-cordially welcomed. The menu is New American and the appetizers are tempting and varied. We had the beets and hummus. The homemade pita bread was warm and the hummus was satisfying with a twist. The avocado crema lightly dressed the beets as you speared the ruby chunks and swiped a smear of crema. The burger was nicely medium, even though I ordered a medium-rare burger. The salmon special was delicately wrapped in phyllo served over couscous. The vegan lentils were not the dish our friend expected, that was the only disappointment. Desserts were delicious and house-made, of course. read more
