Brown Jerry's is one of my family's favorite restaurants. We usually have zero issues when dining here. This time, however, it was Father's Day and they were almost out of everything. They didn't have a pizza cooker which is one of the things they are known for. We did our best to.find things on the menu they did have. Service was fine and she kept up the best she could. The restaurant was the most packed than we've ever seen it. We definitely will return. I just suggest they over buy stock on special occasions. read more

Y'all, this pizza oven cooks the *best* pizza! I saw someone's review of a pulled pork/mushroom pizza and I couldn't think of anything else. So we ordered that, with half regular red sauce and half BBQ sauce. Like swirled together. It was excellent! We also got an order of (4) St. Louis style ribs. The ribs MELTED in our mouths. It was tender and delicious. I used the bbq sauce to dip my pizza, and it was a delicious meal! Service was wonderful! The owner greeted us as we entered the door. And if you go on a Sunday, they have fried chicken which smelled *amazing*! I'm pretty sure, anything you eat here will be really tasty. read more

I will give 4 stars to Brown Jerry's Blues Brews and Barbecue. After a long day at Six Flags St. Louis, we decided to come here for a bbq dinner. We tried the BBQ Sausage platter, and the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Both of them were pretty good and a big portion size. The sausage had a lot of flavor and both meals came out fresh and hot- our favorite side was probably the fries but the potato salad and greens were also good. Service was decent, was sad I couldn't get just a "brisket platter" and only the sandwich, as the brisket platters are apparently exclusive for a "catering menu". Overall, it's a nice, smaller sized bar type restaurant with a stage, so I assume they have live music on certain nights as well. read more

Food- brisket sandwich-meat was thin and bland. Smoked turkey sandwich-meat was dry and chewy. Coleslaw was good. Waitress was nice and friendly. Our neighbor insisted we needed to go Brown Jerry's. We went on a Friday afternoon arriving around 4:30. It was good we arrived early because around 5:30 the place was packed. Great barbecue! I had an appetizer that had bbq pork, mac and cheese and baked beans. It was delicious and huge. I am sure I will get another two meals out of one appetizer. Service was impeccable! Our server was super attentive with refills and was just really on top of everything. Food came out quickly and it was a quick lunch during the workday! Food wise, the fries and ranch were honestly the stars of my meal. The fries were so well seasoned and I wish I could drink this ranch. It had so much flavor. Unfortunately I was kind of let down by the Mac and cheese- it was somewhat gritty and had a different type of flavor cause it was baked. The brisket sandwich was fine but very lean and somewhat dry. jerry is very nice. general ambiance of the place is very midwestern hometown, everybody knows everybody. my pizza however was genuinely one of the most disgusting things a restaurant has ever brought out to me. it was SOPPING wet. my boyfriend seemed to enjoy his food but i really couldn't get past that. read more

We were able to enjoy a really nice meal and stay on track with our dietary restrictions. Had salads with turkey and they were delicious! The portion was generous and the turkey came out steaming hot and juicy. We bought some brisket and turkey to take back to our friends but it wasn't as good, both were very dry. A hidden gem. The service is local and you can tell they enjoy what they do. We had the pork steak it was like eating a rack of rubs without the fuss of the bones. It was fall apart tender. I've had rude responses from the Kitchen Manager and from Jerry, himself. One time I asked for my chicken in my salad to be diced, the Kitchen Manager barked out of the window, "Does he want me to chew his food too"! Great food and service. It's a hidden gem! I am not a big fan of barbecued food, but this is probably the best I've ever had. They don't use too much smoke, just the right amount. Comfortable casual pub. Outdoor seating helped an otherwise indoor seating area which was packed when we arrived for lunch on a Saturday. The menu includes their specialty barbecue meats which are present in many of their dishes. They are delicious! Very few people were empty handed of take/home boxes. Portions are ample plus. Caitlyn took our order and went to 3 computers ... needless to say our order came after 2 tables came in after us..had to ask twice for salads. I did ask for fresh coffee she did make that for me. A big plus for me. She took my credit card..... no clue where she went with it... had to ask the "working waitress"! where she took my card ? Finally got my fresh coffee... waited another 10 mins. For a creamer... asked her 3 times. It was the longest 1 1/2 hour dinner in my life. NEVER NEVRR GOT THE CREAMER ! She wanted to tell me about going to the basement for creamer !!!!!! I was done .... Told my hubby ......... F this ... and I walked out did not take the coffee I paid $3.25 for. Well my hubby did grab it.. let me tell u this chick followed my husband out the door... How did we not know about this place? We came down to listen to Rogers and Neinhaus. Came about 6 pm on a Friday night and was lucky to get a table. The place was packed, however, it had a fun vibe going on. Brenna was our waitress and she was awesome! Very attentive and was able to answer all our questions about the drinks and menu. I ordered the Friday night chef's choice seafood which was a cod basket. Very good! Even better Brenna was able to find me some malt vinegar for my fish and hush puppies which made it perfect. My husband ordered the Pork steak platter which comes with two sides. He went with fries and beans. The thick cut pork steak was one of the best he ever had. Excellent food, but the interior could use a facelift. We stopped in here for lunch after leaving Purina Farms. We got the pork rinds for an appetizer because when do you get to order pork rinds? Get them! They are deliciously crispy and the sauce is so smoky sweet. My husband and I split the 1 1/2 pound barbecue platter and my daughter chose the pulled pork mac and cheese. I don't know why they have the mac and cheese as an appetizer because it is a full entree and then some. The meat platter was way more than we could finish. Great spot! read more

On our Midwest food tour and couldn't pass up the opportunity of visiting Brown Jerry's owned by former NFL player Jerry Holloway. On any given day you can find Brown Jerry welcoming folks outside on the bench or sharing a beer with local patrons inside. Located in a small town he has a solid menu. Lots of food for a great price. Two of us ate for $45 and had leftovers. You have to try his cherry wood smoked brisket, juicy turkey, sausage and that cornbread soufflé and Mac n cheese are a southern girl bbq dreams. Restrooms are clean, bar is fully stocked, inside and outside seating and an entertainment stage makes this spot a "must visit". Mr. Holloway was the cherry on top on our visit. read more

First off, I'm coming from the perspective of BBQ lover and from the Detroit area. By no means is this review meant a "negative" review. But I just need to be honest. The atmosphere and service was phenomenal. I will not deny that because I love the sports bar and down home feel. I never caught her name but considering it was super busy, she was great. Do not let the pictures fool you the smoke brisket and turkey was good along with the Mac and cheese. Now here is where it took a turn for the not so good. The greens were bad. It tasted like they did a quick wash and called it good. I did taste a piece of dirt in it unfortunately. The pulled pork was more like mush pork. I do want to note that we did come around 7pm. So maybe that played a factor. ONCE AGAIN, every one was super nice and friendly along with a great atmosphere. One final note, unless we missed something, there is only one flavor of BBQ sauce and with all my family dishes, it was served on the side. Overall it was an above average place. Nice Service/owner. Let's just say fantastic local establishment. I loved the vibe here and the blues music in the background was excellent. The pork steak was a special today and smoked nicely, the coleslaw passed the KFC standard and was delicious. But the star of the show was clearly the cornbread soufflé! First off... service was excellent, friendly, attentive enough, clearly willing to do the extra to make the customers happy. I did what I usually do at a BBQ spot, order a sample of most of the meats and a couple sides. Brisket had good beef flavor with just enough smoke and was moist, but was chopped. I prefer slices of brisket. It better shows off the craft of making a good brisket. Chopped pork had little flavor but was really moist. With sauce on a bun with slaw it would make a good sandwich. Ribs had little flavor beyond the smoke. Other than the edge piece they were tender and moist. But to be decent they needed sauce. And speaking of sauce. Brown Jerry's has a really good tomato based sauce. Works well with all their offerings. The sausage was the highlight here. Great flavor, perfect smoke and delicious with and without that sauce. read more

Thanks to fellow Yelpers for recommending Brown Jerry's! A few of us flew into St. Louis for a memorial service way out of town, and we wanted to grab lunch before we got too far out of town. True to the reviews, when I walked in the restaurant I was greeted by friendly people. When I said that I guess I needed to learn how to drink beer, as I wanted a glass of wine, and sure enough, I was shown different options, thanks to Jerry. We had the brisket and pulled pork, greens and baked beans. Hit the spot! Wow, we were just traveling through the state and looking for a barbecue place to eat dinner. WOW, what a hiden treasure. so very glad we found this place. The barbecue was fantastic, and large portions. All the staff hustled to get our drinks and take our order, then soon after out came this great plater of food. I got a small side salad. It was large for a small, delicious leaf lettuce. We got a sampler plater, our choice of 3 meats, and 2 sides. So we got pulled pork, sausage, beef briquet, cornbread soufflé , and coleslaw. Just my hubby and myself, we had more food than we could eat. Leftovers were delicious the next day. I highly recomend Brown Jerry's and we will return next time we drive though the area.
